A live album and a CD remix just aren't that exciting to me.

In the old days, live albums were cool because we didn't have youtube, so you literally never got to hear live versions of songs until the band put out a live album. But today? I've heard live versions of This I Love a thousand times. And have had live versions of all my favorite GnR songs on my Ipod for years and years and years.

And we've been hearing some CD songs for over a decade now. Do we really need a remix album of those songs over a batch of brand new songs?

Whomever makes decisions for this band is clueless.

Here's my idea for a time line.

Summer 2014: Dj finishes recording over Finck's parts on the CD leftovers, GnR gets songs picked out, name, and other details for new album.

November 2014: New album announced, song played at Heaven and Hell Festival.

Late 2014 or Early 2015: Album released.

Early 2015: GnR begins American leg of world tour in promotion of new album.

I'm not expecting a long break for GnR. Axl's built up a lot of momentum lately with this band. I'm pretty sure he knows that the band is at a point now where they have gained respect from the general public and can release an album that wont be completely compared to old GnR.

It does seem like a remix album is for hardcore fans. Like those NIN remix albums. I guess they include Oh my God, Silkworms, Going Down with reworking of Better or TIL. Maybe one of them can be a single with a video. Maybe 1 new song. They would need a song like Numb on Zooropa to focus interest on it.
