The Five Most Dangerous Guns in America - According to Rolling Stone

Yeah, extremely dangerous for some thug breaking into a gun-owner's home...

And Rolling Stone also had Slash ranked at #65 on the greatest guitarists of all time list...so what do they know?

If anything, Rolling Stone is leaning pro gun rights in that article. They are basically saying that the most dangerous guns are legal, everyday weapons....not some illegal, fully automatic AK-47.

It didn't come across as pro-gun at all to me...characterizing legal, everyday weapons as the "firearms causing the most harm" in the US and then quoting ATF/FBI stats linking these guns to criminal activity doesn't exactly say "pro-gun" to me. It's more like they're saying don't worry about the illegal, full auto AKs...these 5 guns are the ones we really need to worry about and get off the streets. And they did throw in assault rifles (of the semi-auto variety).

After I posted that I actually realized what I said...and yeah, you're 100% correct. Touche.

Yeah? And Slash should probably be in the 50s or 60s. But beside the point why fault the entire publication just because they ranked Slash badly? It was probably either a user poll or a journalist with an opinion that was not the same as the gun rights journalist.

Or are you suggesting that the ranking of guitar players has anything at all to do with how people feel about gun rights.

Are you implying he's too high or too low?

IMO he should be ranked better (not sure if that's higher or lower...depends on how you look at it I guess?)...

I mean guys like Angus Young, Johnny Ramone and Prince ranked lower/better than Slash? Please. I'm not necessarily saying he should be ranked as high as Jimi, EC and Page but c'mon...#65??

I actually agree with their guitarist list for the most part. Missing Steve Howe though. Take off any of the women they have on their and put him in their spot and we are good.

Keith Richards ranked at #4 all-time and ranked above Jeff Beck? EVH before Duane Allman? I don't think so. I know it's all subjective, but...

And don't get me wrong...I love the Stones and Keith, but Keith's not even the best player the Stones have ever had...that honor goes to Mick Taylor.

Well, the part about Slash's ranking was more of a joke than anything...(although I do think he should be ranked better than the 65th slot)...and, no, I'm not suggesting that the entire publication can be faulted because of that list or that it has anything to do with how people feel about gun rights. How they rank guitar players obviously doesn't have anything to do with gun rights, but I thought that would go without saying/explanation...

I don't really agree with the order, Keith may have been innovative and helped create some of the most memorable riffs but a lot of the greatness we got from Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street is owed to Mick Taylor. Jeff Beck easily should be ranked among the greats of Clapton, Hendrix and Page. Duane and Eddie should be switched but I know that more people seemed to have been influenced by Eddie than Duane.

All and all, it is not a bad list. Certainly better than Spin magazine's list.

The link doesn't work for me. Won't let me see the guns. Why just five? Any gun can be the most dangerous. Unless they have M2's a 50. cal rifle then yeah, those are fucking dangerous. You can take out trucks and even police helicopters with those. I am sure they are not open to the civilian market, at least not legally.

you can buy a .50 cal sniper rifle. i saw one in a gun store in florida for sale for about 5 or 6 grand. the price to shoot the gun is about 5 or 6 dollars a bullet.

Dayuuunm. That can take out a low rider and then some.

yeah i was shocked to see it. i looked it up online. in most states you can buy a .50 cal it seems, some states you need a class III license and to buy it from a special dealer.

2. Revolvers (Handguns)

3. Rifles

4. Shotguns

5. Derringers
