wasted
Does anyone enjoy this?Is it acceptable just to order stuff off amazon? they can even wrap it for you? Starbucks vouchers?I just can't go to the mall and buy books on ebola or buy scented soaps or whatever the fuck people buy for their family.Any ideas for presents you can't steal off kickass torrents? Ace Nova
If you don't know what to get, gift cards usually do the trick. And Amazon will send them directly to whomever you choose....and they are available in gift boxes.
MB.
Amazon and other online shops are the answer. I use it all the time. It's cheaper and easier. Besides you avoid crowded places, standing in line, cause everybody wants to wrap their gifts. On amazon you can let them wrap your gifts as wellI love online shopping. Edited December 2, 2014 by MB. dalsh327
I like knowing what people want throughout the year. If I know they're getting some sort of big gift, I'll get accessories. I'd rather get kids gift cards as long as they tell me what they got with it.
PITBOSS
it's terrible, we are all driven to rush out and buy stuff for people in our lives and spend money we don't really have to waste.I usually feel better when I can find something that person needs or if they can use it.Christmas was great when we were kids, as adults it's more of a money draining hassle every year.
wasted
I guess it is for kids really, adults shouldn't be getting presents, it's an embarrassment. Ooh ooh i got some socks. fuck you with your socks.
arnold layne
Christmas sucks. I'm glad I'm working Christmas Eve. I plan on just getting drunk Christmas Day, putting in a frozen pizza and watch the NBA or something. That is Christmassy enough for me. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Have you not? They've always been a mean onnery bunch of anti Christmas bastards around here, do you not recall? It's about this time i usually weigh in with an extensive rant talkin' bout 'oh but the birds and the trees and the snow and the electricity in the air and the twinkle of kindness behind the eye of every good Christian heart' and all i get is a bunch of 'neeeeurgh' 'commercialisation' and all that shit, usually Bet they all love it really! Gracii Guns
Enjoying it, as now I'm married, I can split the gift bill with my husband! We're just giving gifts to close family. My sister is organising something for my Dad from all the siblings combined, so I don't have that to worry about. Grandparents are pretty tough people to buy for, as by then they have everything they need or want in life. A few years ago I spent a whole £10 on a little whiskey and wine/ chocolates set for my grandparents and they asked me not to buy them anything 'so expensive next year, as I can't afford it'. I was a student at the time, but stretching to £10 wasn't a problem!I enjoy Christmas as a time to be generous. Prefer getting proper things instead of vouchers for people, as it's so nice to have something to unwrap.
tomfriend
Take everyone for a meal or a drink. Have a laugh, make some memories. Boom. Done. If you're short on cash make 'em some at yours.
Redhead74
I love the IDEA of Christmas. But the reality as an adult is just ridiculous. Every year I have to think of something to buy those who pretty much buy whatever the fuck they want, whenever they want it. And with my family and the other half's family, that's a lot of people. This year we just said "fuck it". No presents, let's just have a great day with great food (and wine!). No stress, just good times.
wasted
I'm going to drink until I can't feel my legs. Oh Xmas I love you.
SoulMonster
Jól is the absolute best time of the year for me. I love all the food, the gifts, baking, snowy landscape, tacky decorations, being home with family, all the traditions, all the juleøl (Chistmas beer), experiencing it all through the wonderment of my kids, AND buying gifts. I buy many with Firefox and start early so I can enjoy December without feeling stressed or annoyed by the throngs of people everywhere.
