That's for sure. Anybody starting out now has one hell of tough road ahead of them. Even if somebody goes the digital route, like Izzy's done, it's not really enough money to survive, fund a tour and pay production costs. I don't know how much iTunes pays - I've heard around $1 per stream but that seems high? - but I know Youtube only pays around $100.00 per 75k views. So unless you have a big name behind you or money to fund it yourself, your kind of screwed from the start. It's pretty depressing when you really think about it... there's probably great musicians out there, like prince & bowie, that will never be discovered because the way the music industry has set them up to fail from the start. And sorry about the gifs! I had no idea they were causing problems. ------- The alternative nation thing annoys the hell out of me. Not only does he steal without giving credit but he's taking things out context. The women's thread and this thread have a lot of inside jokes that aren't going to make sense to people who don't post here. Bret gets all his articles from other people's work, if he gave credit to each person it would show up how little work he puts in himself. Poor @Andy14 those gifs are going to make her famous. don't stop with the gifs, I just have to switch to my phone to get through the page, I think it only happens if everybody quotes them then you have several on a page and it chucks you out if your computer can't handle it. Joey's toured with pretty much every musician you can think of but I wouldn't say he's super well known. He played keys on 3 or 4 Izzy albums.
