Is it intentional, that all the new drip feed songs average 4 Mins?

Recommended Posts

Absurd, Hardskool, Perhaps, The General, Monsters, Atlas Shrugged, State of Grace average 4 mins only.

Are they intentional saving the longer more "epic" songs of "CD2" for a full album release?

Songs like (Twat, Catcher, This i Love, Sorry, Prostitute, Madagascar)?

DId Slash said in an interview "6 songs & then put on an album"?

Makes more sense to me.

Your thoughts?

  • GNROSAS changed the title to Is it intentional, that all the new drip feed songs average 4 Mins?

Coincidence I'm sure, for lack of tinkering with. After all, the title track was only 3:22 until they decided to add another minute of intro. Similar to Riad, with the extended intro, and TWAT when they decided to A: add another solo, and B: and decide with either a shortened verison of the solo (as shown by the leak), or the version as it appeared on the album, which added a minute and a half to the song. Same with IRS with the added 2nd solo.

Thats not to say that Axl didnt labour over other songs that we haven't heard before

It's the average length of most songs, in general. These songs were also around 4 minutes in 1999 when they were written (the Village ones anway, I assume TG/Monsters too) and on that note so are by far most songs on RM 1-4. You're looking into things too much.

I knew 2024 would be a boring year GnR wise, but I didn't expect it to set in so soon.

If you're going to drip-release songs as singles like this, you need radio etc. to be willing to play them. That's not the time to randomly release a nine-minute song. Not to mention that I don't think I trust a new GNR "epic" to be any good.

You misunderstood Slash's comment. He said after they individually released the ChiDem leftovers they would release them all together. We wont be getting a full length album with more ChiDem leftovers. They only reworked 4-6 (if you take Slash's comment literally) so we already have most, if not all of them. His other comment about a new album was that after their tour (that ended a few months back) they would start the process of working on brand new material. That is not in anyways a guarantee that any new music will come. That is where we currently stand.

All GNR Releases had longer songs above 5mins

AFD had: Paradise City, Roccket Queen
GNR Lies: Patience, One In A Million
UYI I: Bad Obsession, Back Off Bitch, November Rain, The Garden, Dont Damn Me, Coma
UYI II: Civil War, Knickin Oh Heavens Door, Get In The Ring, Breakdown, Locomotive, Estranges, You Could Be Mine
TSI: Human Being, Ain't It Fun
CD: There was A Time, Catcher In The Rye, This i Love, Sorry, Prostitute, Madagascar

CD II/New Releases None!?
I can assume the longer songs are kept for an album release & they drip feed us only single/radio length songs of 4min avg.
