No, you were accusing the rescue party for not having the "human decency" to bring up the pilot. It's pretty serious, don't you think? But I guess in your disgust for modern footballers everything is okay?

I was accusing the rescue party, i.e., the private venture, of swiftly departing the area once they had the footballer in tow, and not looking thoroughly for the pilot. I still stand by that statement based on my assessment of the facts at hand. If I was a member of the sub-nautical unit I would have worked voluntarily.

No, you didn't. You said that they "left the pilot", implying that he was found but that they didn't care to bring him up, and then accused them of lacking human decency.

That it is an assumption based on little evidence - NB it was a privately funded enterprise which found the footballer. The British coastal authorities don't seem to have been overly impressive as the private company found the plane almost instantly, the former having given up.

The coastguards were doing search and rescue operation looking for survivors so they weren't looking at the bottom of the sea. When there was no chance of survivors thats when they stop. The private company were just focused on recovering the body.

This is a pedantic game you are playing. Irrespective, removing all facetiousness and rhetoric my opinions are in my above post.

Heh, so you excuse yourself from the pretty grave accusation of claiming someone didn't have the human decency to retrieve a body they found - just rhetorics! - but I am being pedantic for calling you out for that? Oooookay

You are getting yourself messed up in some internal word game, incapable through your adherence to scientific exactitude and (national socialist) lack of humour to differentiate between rhetorical embellishment and facetiousness. Just to clarify (one last time): if it was me, and I had submariner equipment down there I would have looked for a greater period than what transpired voluntarily, through my own inclination.

Are you now claiming that:

Quote

Maradonna and a bunch of millionaires then payed a private company to retrieve the footballer, whom they found instantly, but left the pilot - has human decency gone completely array here?

was meant as a joke??

That is another of your cop-outs, trying to pass off outrageous or just inaccurate or directly false statements as "jokes" whenever you are called out on them. Weak.

They did! I am not refuting any of that statement. The pilot is still there in the Channel as I speak. He was left (by all and sundry).

If you are refuting my assessment of the operation then that is fair enough but this word game is entirely of your own construction.

PS

Here is my original quote again just so I don't boggle Obergruppenfuhrer Soul,

Quote

Maradonna and a bunch of millionaires then payed a private company to retrieve the footballer, whom they found instantly, but left the pilot - has human decency gone completely array here?

It is always best to speak in clarities with you I suppose.

But you were implying that found him but couldn't be bothered to bring him back up. But now I assume you are going to claim this was news to you, despite the fact that I have pointed this out in just about every post on this topic

There's a sitcom in this y'know, stuffy genteel English Dies' and big beefy nordic pragmatist Soulie share a flat in Epping, having Harold and Albert-esque arguments every episode.  We could call it Twos a Crowd.  Money in the bank, that, especially in these days of Brexit, it could stand as a metaphor for the relationship between England and Europe.  We could perhaps even draft a bird in to spice things up, I'm thinking Melinda Messenger as Dolly Clackett, the good hearted big breasted local bike.

Then in the 6th series when viewing figures start to wane we could have Dies' and Soulie Go Down Under.  I'm tellin' ya folks, this ones a winner.

I like it, this has potential 😂 except I think maybe set it in Dies hometown and have the European scientist character move up there for work and lodge with Diesel. Who bemuses him with his love of cricket, real ale and Radio 4. Theyd argue like fuck over everything naturally. It could be called A Northern Soul 😂

Hows this, Dies' is a cobbler in a now defunct coastal fishing town, a Northern Sole!  This genius, it just pours out of me   Dies'll be like a sort of 21st Century version of Rigsby out of Rising Damp!  I'm seeing Benedict Cumberbatch as Dies' and Florian Munteau as Soulie

Cumberbatch is a pc/EU modern man sort of guy. He'd be terrible playing me.

Well I'm gonna be the director so there I'll be, monogramed chair, chompin' on a cigar, take him to one side, put my arm around him and go 'Benny, I'm gonna tell you what I told Brando in '58...act baby!'

The two main protagonists are both very bright in their own way but are polar opposites constantly belittling each other and bicker over everything but deep down at the heart of the show is a unique friendship and respect which develops over time. Like why would these two who constantly argue be sat in the Dog and Whippet every night nursing a pint of dark.

Which is why I've chosen straight actors as opposed to comedians, for the pathos, the best comedy is that which rides the line between the comic and the tragic, hence Cumberbatch, the Shakespearean actor.  This is going to be wide open for homosexual readings y'know

Going all the way back to Hardeys Laurel, Ted's Dougal and Rodneys Del. I would be fine if it wasn't for this idiot but they really need each other.

Slightly different with Del and Rodney as they both thought the other was the one holding them back. Which was part of the shows genius.

Del and Rodney have a touch of Harold and Albert about them, Rodney being Harold who kinda aspires to these high fallutin ideas and Del always knocking him down with 'what could you have been?'

Artistic licensing - what would you change? My penchant for (foreign) cooking and opera will probably end up on the cutting room floor I suspect? It might be better to make my character a fish and chips lad.

No, that would ruin it, the foreign cooking and opera will accentuate the personality clash, if we were to make you a lad it would ruin it, it would take away the conflict.
