  1. I've always laughed at the thought of a band like Faith mocking Guns on their tour. It's like, let's make a name for ourselves at their expense because our music is shit.
  2. I never listened to Evader's version in the first place. No disrespect for Evader's work, very talented! I just had no interest in something that is not really Guns N Roses. (Same thing with the Village leak instrumentals that I listened to only once.) Hell, I've refused to even listen the the cell phone clip.
  3. I totally understand what you mean, although I do really enjoy Bucket's takes as well.
  4. When I was a kid I also thought Axl was Duff on the Appetite cross. It made sense to my child brain that the guy wearing a bandanna would be Axl I've always preferred Don't Cry (Alt) to the original. I barely listen to TSI!? & Live Era. I only went to one reunion show in 2016. As exciting as it was that Slash & Duff were sharing a stage with Axl again, by 2017 I could not get past the fact Axl's voice had become so hard to enjoy. Therefore, I'll likely never see them live again. I didn't initially dislike DJ Ashba. He soured on me as time progressed. (Due to what I figure is DJ losing interest). At the moment I can't think of much else.
  5. And that's the way it is now. They play for 3 hours and your lucky to hear a few tunes a night that sound decent, vocally.
  6. I'm not sure Brian's the one who would look bad...
  7. That sounds good. In all honesty I was basing my comment on a few different things that were said here, regarding bad rips from vinyl. If it sounds like this, it'll be fine. Thanks!
  8. I can't wait to NOT be able to hear this right away due to me not owning a record player And just like the shitty cell phone recording, I will refuse to listen to a vinyl rip that sounds like ass.
  9. I agree. The whole album is rather enjoyable, even if not all of the songs GREAT. There's also a few of the tracks where I prefer earlier demo's (Riad with Bucket solo), Catcher (With Brian May) & Street Of Dreams (2002 live version). I rarely listen to If The World, though. That's one of the ones that was far better with raspy vocals.
  10. At first, I thought DJ was great for the band. He brought something out of Axl that I hadn't seen on stage since Slash. At some point in 2011 or after he must have seen the writing on the wall. His contributions were not going to be used, and it was going to be a continuous cycle of playing the old songs. That = frustrations and boredom.
  11. I've been a fan since about 1993/1994 but due to the fact the band was no longer active I got my first chance to see them live in 2002. Because of the tour announcement I found HTGTH. Later joined CD.com & NewGNR.com before coming here in 2003. All 5 gigs I saw from that time period were special, for different reasons. Toronto 2002 - first time seeing Axl in person. One of the stronger sets from that tour, new songs & Buckethead! Toronto 2006 - Axl was a different animal by this point. The leaks had happened and I fondly remember singing Better from front row and Axl smiling at me. (I was worried he'd have a fit). Hamilton 2010 - This was fucking awesome! Axl's voice was as close to what it sounded like in 1992! TWAT live with Bumble (Playing the solo right). Things started to slip after that. Hamilton 2011 - Riff Raff was a highlight. Toronto 2013 - I was closer than ever here due to it being a club show, so that was cool. Having to watch DJ and his girlfriend making out was not cool. (He stepped off stage for one of the other solo spots and stood right in front of me). Axl's voice wasn't as strong as the 2006/2010 shows but I still enjoyed the show.
  12. I agree, they'd have to cherry pick the best performances of each song and compile them into a Frankenstein release like the original Live Era.
  13. They did. Dodgers stadium in Detroit, if I remember correctly.
  14. Anything after 2016 would be crap. I'm sure people would blame the recording equipment. Axl doesn't sound that bad in person
  15. I totally understand that. I just meant I wouldn't be missing anything, personally.
  16. That will be the nail in the coffin for me & this band. I signed out of the forum and was gone for 6 months before the release of Perhaps brought me back. If they fuck this up, I will 100% be completely done.
  17. As someone who hasn't attended a GN'R show since 2016, it is nice to see the changes in the set list, for sure.
