  1. Fair. I kinda hate the studio version of Absurd but it's one of their best live songs right now - basically the opposite of Hardschool which is a fine single but awful live song.
  2. Great song of course, but I can't imagine Axl getting a good reception from people watching the live broadcast... same for Coma, TWAT, etc. I wouldn't really be surprised if they only do PC as an encore, either.
  3. Forgot about that one (blasphemy, I know ) They could probably squeeze it into that set somewhere... tbh I always skip that one when I watch live streams now.
  4. SOYL, Reckless and Nice Boys are basically interchangeable (fast-paced rockers that Axl can scream his way through) but SOYL is on the Greatest Hits re-release so that's why I included that one. The slow version of You're Crazy would be great, it's one of this lineup's best songs and I wouldn't be disappointed if it replaced Slither... but Slither is a staple at this point, and Axl sounds fine on that except for the chorus.
  5. The set time for Glastonbury is only 2 hr 15 mins, right? Not sure if Axl would be willing to cut songs like YCBM and RQ, but something like this would probably be as well-received as a modern GNR broadcast could be received... Down On The Farm It's So Easy Bad Obsession Live And Let Die Chinese Democracy Slither Welcome To The Jungle Pretty Tied Up Absurd Shadow Of Your Love Double Talkin' Jive Sweet Child O' Mine November Rain TV Eye Perhaps Mr. Brownstone Knockin' On Heaven's Door Nightrain ----- Patience Paradise City 20 songs. Add Civil War and maybe Wichita Lineman if there's time. Cut all the fat, play the biggest hits and focus the rest of the show around Axl's natural voice.
  6. 2014 was the best performances. I do like the piano outro they do now though, and Melissa's synths and vocals being high in the mix is always a good thing. Axl has never sounded great on the verses, but he just sounds pathetic on them now. The 'perversion and pain' scream is his only decent moment in the song. Prostitute is my favourite song on CD but it's not really a good live song.
  7. He spliced the 'bitch like you' vocals together from the rock band stems, the same way he did The General. His work was ridiculously impressive, and I still think his version of Silkworms is better than what was eventually released.
  8. That was evader's version that had the outro, it's pretty nice. At one point I put the 'bitch like you' vocals from his version (spliced from rock band stems) over the Village demo and it sounded pretty cool.
  9. They've played it before SCOM once or twice in the last few years... always thought it worked well, maybe they'll do that again tonight? edit: apparently it was played earlier
  10. Am I the only one who thinks the piano part in RQ sounds cool, but would work a lot better as an intro? After something like Civil War where there's prominent piano at the end, it would be a cool way to lead into the song... it sounds kinda out of place in the middle, just doesn't really fit the vibe of the song once the sleazy verses have kicked in, and they really should trim down the jam in the middle anyway...
  11. A lot of the songs that have been posted just sound weird. By The Sword, Fall To Pieces, etc. don't really sound like Axl. I always wished Axl had covered more Nazareth songs but the AI version of Love Hurts sucks. There's little parts that work but for the most part my ears just hear poorly filtered versions of good songs. I'm sure in a few years this stuff will be way more interesting but it doesn't really work yet.
  12. Replace UTLH with You Ain't The First and I agree. The slow version of You're Crazy is one of this lineup's best songs, hopefully they bring that back eventually. I also agree Brownstone should be a staple and This I Love should be dropped.
  13. I think Down On The Farm would be a perfect opener for Glastonbury...
  14. Haven't heard the one from tonight yet but I've got very low expectations... I'm interested to see how Prostitute sounded though, the short clip on instagram sounded about the same as the 2017 performances.
  15. Prostitute and Sorry are definitely better fits for this lineup than Street Of Dreams, TWAT and This I Love... It's a shame Axl still uses a backing track on Locomotive though, it's so unnecessary and distracting.
  16. Of course not, you're a good poster Ratam Songs like CD, Sorry and Catcher are usually decent but I wish they'd replace the CD 'deep cuts' like TWAT, TIL and SOD with Perhaps and The General... or songs like You're Crazy or You Ain't The First. Most of the CD songs don't sound good live with this lineup.
  17. Axl has rarely sounded good on the verses of TWAT, but the screams and solo are what make the song great. He sounded bad on the verses here but nailed the screams, it's definitely not the worst performance of the song... Slash really fucked up the solos, though.
  18. Promise seems like a song that Axl would've absolutely nailed in 2010 or 2016, but yea I don't think there will ever be a Slash solo song included in a GNR set unless it's something like Safari Inn that could be used as an intro... Axl would probably never sing Nothing To Say but it would've been cool to hear what he'd do over that instrumental, too.
  19. Like @Tom2112 I had friends text me when it was released saying 'wtf is this?' Absurd has its fans, but as far as being a successful single I just don't see how it would happen. Most people who like GNR don't want that kind of music, and most people who like that kind of music aren't interested in GNR's attempt at it. To be fair, it does work better as a live song though.
  20. That might be a fair argument for Hardschool, but there's no universe where Absurd was ever going to do well as a single. They should've just quietly included it as a b-side and released Hardschool at the beginning of that tour. I'd bet that releasing Absurd as the first reunion single killed a lot of peoples interest in new GNR songs.
  21. They have some really good songs - Loving The Alien, Messages, etc. - but a lot of mediocre songs as well. Contraband gets praised by a lot of people on here but that album hasn't aged well at all IMO.
  22. Yes, there's been rare occasions where he's stopped for fans, but it's not common and half the time he just looks uncomfortable. I know you and a few others on here hang out at the hotels and airports but that shit is just weird... Not trying to knock axljungle, congrats on getting an autograph and some quick pics, but it's totally reasonable that he would avoid groups of fans outside hotels and stuff.
  23. Idk, most people who don't like the production on the 2021 singles are still CD fans, so if they actually release The General it will be one of those rare moments where almost everyone is happy (like summer 2016 or when they released the Ritz blu ray).
  24. If there's a group of creepy fans at the entrance, why wouldn't he leave through the garage?
