  1. @Rovimis there, right? Hopefully he’s taking setlist notes…
  2. They soundchecked absurd with Axl in the middle of the night at Hershey tho. That said, you’re right that they never soundchecked HS with Axl apart from that one time way back in early 2020 (before the apocalypse).
  3. Watch them play Perhaps and there’s no footage of it…
  4. I don’t have insta but apparently Meegan is streaming: https://www.instagram.com/meeganhodges/live/
  5. I listened to both clips a few more times and yeah that’s definitely Duff and Melissa. No Axl there, which means we probably won’t get it tonight. They’re still “warming it up,” just like they soundchecked HS a bunch of times without Axl before finally doing it for real.
  6. The original Going Down where it’s just Tommy on his own is better. Should’ve always just been a Tommy solo song.
  7. Izzy. Steven has a great thing going now with his new singer from Argentina, whereas Izzy hasn’t been doing anything since 2016. For that reason alone, I’d rather see Izzy back.
  8. Is Perhaps on linkfire yet? Anyone know how to check that?
  9. That one is just a b-side, to be fair.
  10. My headcanon is that it’s a homage to the muddy production of the first album, but I’m probably wrong.
  11. Maybe it’s cause they technically still consider brain to be a fulltime member, and felt that mentioning him as a “featured drummer” went against that narrative? He was with the band last year when they soundchecked that tune that sounded kinda like Circus Maximus, after all.
  12. Pretty sure Axl confirmed during his 2008 forum visits that Cock-A-Roach Soup was fake. On topic: I subscribe to the theory that Hard Skool is indeed the Jackie Chan song from 1996 but that Slash most likely had no involvement in the writing since he was still off in Snakepit land at the time. That said, he did still do a tape of riffs for the band around 1994 or so (the one where Fall To Pieces comes from), and Axl did confirm during his forum visits that they were still taking that tape into consideration in 1996. Furthermore, Fortus said back in 2014 or so that one of the songs they were working on was a song that Slash “planted the seed for a long time ago.” But I don’t think that song is Hard Skool, because at that same interview a fan sang the lyrics of the Checkmate leak to Fortus and he said “doesn’t ring a bell.”
  13. So far this year I’ve seen four movies: John Wick 4, Mario, Guardians 3, Spiderverse 2. All of them were good (but Mario coulda been a bit better).
  14. Been wondering that too. The original demo where it’s just Tommy on his own is better than what nuGuns eventually did with it anyways.
  15. While you both make good points, I still have a feeling Atlas is no longer called Atlas. It’s not like Axl sings the words “atlas shrugged” like he did in Catcher, and that title just doesn’t really fit the song imo. Could be wrong, though.
  16. Good point. The BBF-era version of HardSkool is probably not too far off from what we got. In other news, if Atlas really does happen, I wonder if the title will change. Apparently there was a rumor on Reddit not too long ago that it’s now called Never Said.
  17. Yeah I’ve always said they should replace the “hey heyyy”s on Perhaps and the “ohhhh”s on Atlas with guitar bends and have Melissa sing the “you’re all alone” part on Perhaps (both live and in the studio). They listened to us when we said to cut out the intro on Hardschool and change the bridge. We’ll see if they listen now.
  18. New album dropped today. I enjoyed it way more than I expected to. Easily their best since Wasting Light. My only complaint is that it’s a little too somber, though that’s to be expected given the circumstances it was made under. Still a very good album, though. Might replace 72 Seasons as my favorite album of 2023 so far.
  19. Tommy confirmed he played on Riad, but we’ve never heard that version. I actually think the fact that Axl played it at a party alongside Absurd in 2010 gives it a better chance than others.
