  1. Regardless of which side is right about the ownership of the photos, this is just incredibly far from how a business as big as GN'R is should be managed. I wonder if Axl knew this. I doubt he did because, for all his flaws (and this has even been considered as one of his flaws) he is known to be infamously obsessed about wanting to have everything on paper and under contract, but also as someone who wants to be fair to people who work for him.
  2. Not exactly the same. Axl didn't want Robert John to work with some other artists, but Robert needed the money, so Axl offered to buy his GN'R pictures from him instead. But someone fucked up and Robert didn't get his money, so he sued.
  3. Yes, they sued first (it's mentioned in the Rolling Stone article) for registering some of her photos with the US Copyright Office as owned by her. GN'R claims that according to the contracts she signed, she has no ownership rights over the photos. It also says that Kat tried to sue them back in March (and indeed there is a filing in the legal databases), but the lawsuit was dismissed then because of some technicality (it wasn't filed properly).
  4. This is all very serious (and horrible). However, all the comments that this maybe be the end of GN'R and that there won't be any more releases or touring etc., are too dramatic and overstated.
  5. GN'R's (touring entity) original lawsuit document: https://www.docdroid.net/ecAH9bW/20231024-lawsuit-gundam-touring-services-us-llc-v-benzova-pdf
  6. As we all know, Axl has done things that are the opposite to being a role model as far as treating women. However, for all we know, he has never mistreated women who have worked for or with him.
  7. I suppose that actions that are subject to civil suits or criminal charges are not protected by NDA's.
  8. Yes, they're not going away as his surrogate family and entourage, probably not even Fernando. But he can't continue being the manager, for sure.
  9. The GN'R business entity (Gundam) is among the defendants in her lawsuit, so she has sued the band, too, and Axl, Slash and Duff are named in the lawsuit document for being the band.
  10. Which also begs the question how much of all this the band knew. Kat interacted with Meegan quite a bit, so they must have known.
  11. And we also thought that the current GN'R band and business was relatively drama free. Little did we know...
  12. Yes, I have read those posts and they were somewhat convincing that the poster could be legit and who they claimed they were (the same person who had posted the lyrics to Sorry on HTGTH). On the other hand, we all know what extreme lengths of deception and trolling parts of this fandom are able to go to.
  13. Most likely bs (as well as "in this grave"). Anyone could have made up lyrics to pass themselves off as "insiders" taking advantage of the real precedent of the lyrics to Sorry.
  14. Yes, I have made the connection with that quote, too (with which he implied that he "lost his soul" to her for a long time): The person I wrote that song [This I Love] for said "thank you for the gift of your soul". Well, it took a while but I got that fucker back. [Copenhagen, Denmark, June 27, 2017] Of course it could be a coincidence, but it's less likely than (at least parts of) Monsters being about someone else.
  15. I have thought that Perhaps could be about his mother (the verses at least). Not any parts of Monsters though.
  16. There are tracks on CD though that are, if not (lyrically) repetitive, poorer than this (Riad, Scraped, If The World).
  17. I wonder how much of the copy/paste criticism is due to us knowing how these songs have been made before we hear them. We're kind of prepared and "programmed" to hear them as a product of copy and paste. Aside from the repetition of verses on Perhaps etc., would we be able to tell that the songs have a "copy and paste" sound if we heard them without knowing anything about them?
  18. I looked up "vinyl" in dictionaries out of curiosity (and as English is not my native language). According to some of them, vinyl is an uncountable/mass noun (so no plural form) when referring to the format in general, but can be used as a countable noun (so in plural, too) when referring to copies of vinyl records: https://www.wordreference.com/definition/vinyl https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/vinyl Also found these: https://exclaim.ca/music/article/petitioners_want_to_change_the_plural_of_vinyl_to_vinyls () https://www.goldrushvinyl.com/blog/vinyl-or-vinyls So maybe it's just a case of elitism on the part of vinyl collectors?
  19. New Duff interview (Classic Rock Magazine): https://www.a-4-d.com/t8091-2023-12-dd-classic-rock-to-the-lighthouse-duff Also this one in People Magazine: https://people.com/guns-n-roses-duff-mckagan-reveals-key-to-his-24-year-marriage-no-longer-than-12-days-apart-exclusive-8399025

  21. Yes, although I don't like the song much either way, I'm in the minority that prefers the the vocals in the album version than in the remix.
