  1. Consciously choosing to play something differently is not a sign of struggle šŸ˜‚ He's put his own slant on them, on purpose. If he'd never left the band and those songs still got produced, what they sound like now is what they would have sounded like then. Look at Duff, Richard, and Frank. All three played with the previous lineup, and are playing differently now to how they did then. In Richard's case, even playing different parts sometimes. Slash could no doubt play note-for-note like on the record (sort of what this whole thread is about in a way), but do any of us want to hear that? No, for better or worse we want to hear Slash play like Slash, and that's what he does. Do the CD songs sound differently today? Of course! But they sound like Slash is playing them.
  2. Stylistically I always thought Guns would have been a better fit than Def Leppard. You wouldn't be alternating headliners though ā€“ GN'R would have to go last every night with their longer shows
  3. "Apologies if I've unintentionally offended anyone" He probably hadn't... until now when he shat on Richard for no reason. Should Richard have said anything? Probably not. Did Nuno need to put out that god-awful response? Definitely not.
  4. Voted for Paul Lastname, completely forgetting Pitman was ever there. Oops. I mean, Pitman's CD contributions were cool, but his image, attitude, and 2016 behaviour were far from great
  5. Well we already know there's plans for SMKC to tour, but the Creed reunion announcement pretty much confirms it. Everyone from Alter Bridge, bar Myles, is in that band. So with Myles now free, and no confirmed GN'R tour dates, it looks like an SMKC tour for at least some of next year is a certainty.
  6. Going back a few years now, but it was still two years into the "regrouping"... At Download in 2018 I was in a queue to buy a T-shirt when I overheard two lads saying they weren't interested in sticking around for Guns N' Roses that night because it wasn't 'the real band', there was 'no Slash' etc. I told them Slash had been back for two years and they were dumbfounded. On the flip-side, the reaction to Glastonbury this year seems to suggest that most people don't realise (or care) that there was a 20+ year gap with no Slash.
  7. As if anyone truly believes Axl himself is behind this šŸ˜‚ Touring bands are big businesses, the talent isn't getting that involved, no matter how deluded peoples' thoughts of the all-powerful, all-controlling Axl Rose are šŸ¤£
  8. Slash had Dizzy on the first Snakepit record! šŸ˜‚
  9. One day this will be me... Hopefully the hearing TWAT live part comes long before 30 shows though
  10. Why Gilby? He was a replacement hired hand just like Richard is now. I can't think of a single sensible reason why Gilby needs to return. Izzy? Sure, but Gilby? Nah. He's just a nostalgic version of what we have now ā€“ a guy hired to fill a spot. At least Richard's recorded original material with the band.
  11. New album thread is hot... have I fallen for it again, or is it worth actually being here this time? šŸ˜‚
  12. That's more than a decade, not "a few" šŸ˜‚ And it's still wrong. Fortus had kids with his partner in the mid-2000s šŸ˜‚
  13. What are you talking about? They were never together. Fortus is married to a lawyer that he's been with for years. They have kids together
  14. Why do people expect massive changes every night? Most tours settle into a rhythm ā€“ and GN'R change more than most every night anyway
  15. I think he was just shooting them because they were in town, I wouldn't read too much into that
  16. I'm guessing this is the best place to ask... Anyone know why you can't use Chinese Democracy (the song) in Instagram posts or stories? If you search 'Chinese Democracy', every song except the title track comes up. Is it not on there? Or is there some weird way to make it show?
  17. Seriously? Even though there's seven people in the band and only three are shown? Duff and Slash aren't looking like background minions. At all.
  18. Well they did the Troubadour in 2016 and the Apollo Theatre in 2017, so they're not against doing smaller shows, but if they did them all the time, they wouldn't be as special
  19. Sorry for the double post. Same here, golden circle around me had a great atmosphere, everyone really into it
