  1. Yeah, back then Axl said something like "oh, that got us by surprise. Robin is Robin, and he has one of the most eccentric lifestyles. We'll see how it goes". Rumors according to MSL's supposedly leaked emails were that Robin didn't get payed and was gaslighted by the then management, until he got fed up and accepted Trent's invite to rejoin NIN. In a personal level, that was the most heartbroken I got with this band. Even more than when it happened with Slash because back then, I was a fan but the band was not active at all, so I just assumed that Slash could get back eventually (well, I was kinda right about it lol). That's entirely subjective. I'm a diehard fan since 89 and to me CD is million times better than both of those albums. Also, TWAT could've had a radio edit, the track length is not a deal breaker. But I really don't see it as a radio single at all. IMO, Street of Dreams would suit it better.
  2. I doubt this is Caram's work for the mixing. He probably helped Axl in producing the track, though.
  3. Which shouldn't be too hard lol. But I get, he claims to have info from Universal Italy, which had been keen on leaking information.
  4. I know, Blackstar mentioned it, but I don't know why this guy should even be considered as a potential insider.
  5. Bumblefoot predicted how the album would need time to sit on fans minds and get more appreciation. It was such a departure of what people expected from a GNR product, and also it had the whole drama of how long did it take to be released and who were in the band (both still is taken into consideration even now). IMO, if you take the album with face value, it can be appreciated a lot more.
  6. Guess it's already Friday in some parts of the world, so we can discard the digital release today right?
  7. But we still didn’t get the official thing in its higher quality. I mean, the mix is obviously the same, but the audio quality should be better, I have no doubt about it.
  8. I agree about Frank, but we did get Josh’s drums in that 1999 SCOM from the Big Daddy movie.
  9. Back in the day, people didn't understand a lot of lyrics in OMG. There was one of the transcriptions that had some stuff in brackets that were never in the song at all, but yet that was the one that was in every single lyrics site I've came across back then. And it had some weird stuff like "believe you're a bad jump".
  10. Just modern hard rock. The "industrial" stuff are just textures, very minor things. The guitars def have nothing to do with industrial IMO.
  11. I think the Antiquiet demo had Brain drums, those were not drum machine. It was actually quite interesting because it had a very busy snare pattern on the second verse.
  12. I hear a lot of hip hop on The General. The intro kinda reminds me of that Eminen's 8 Mile song. Neither.
  13. I think OMG wasn't the purest Axl's vision because the mix was terrible and it didn't have Robin as he intended. I think the Village version of CD is by far the closest thing, with Freese on Drums, Robin on most of the songs and with Bucket already getting some stuff. And to me that wasn't really aggressive industrial at all. In fact, most of the other instrumental demos were much more traditional guitar riff rock based than some of the songs that made up on CD.
  14. About Riad's drums, check this guy playing Rock Band perfectly. This is some serious awesome stuff (thanks to Josh Freese, even though Brain rerecorded it).
  15. There were some questionable decisions on the album mix too. But as far as being played live, I think it was simply because those screams were too damn high. Even in 2006/7, when Axl was really in his A-game, the song did not get played (and I think it was rehearsed pre-tour, from what I've been told back then).
