Dead Flower
I stumbled across Brokeback Mountain the other day on HBO. Although Im not a homophobe, after seeing a preview that had a scene of a passionate make out scene between two men, I wasnt gonna watch that shit. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was a really good filmI swear some people expect Brokeback Mountain to be a softcore gay porn film with cowboys. It's a tragic love story about regret and missed opportunity. Everyone should be able to relate to it.Great film, though very slow paced. Heath

I had more sympathy for their poor wives, who were sitting at home raising the kids, fulfilling their end of the MARRIAGE while their spouses were out FUCKING other people. If the two men were cheating with other women instead of with men . . . . would you still say they were tragic victims? You are correct. This is a tragic love story. For the two wives who dedicated their lives to the cheating men. Edited November 15, 2008 by Apollo

illusions
I didn't think much about the dark knight, Only liked heaths scenes but that batman voice was really annoying, and most of christain bale's acting.
Dead Flower
If the two men were cheating with other women instead of with men . . . . would you still say they were tragic victims?Well, I never actually said they were tragic victims, but whatever.I said it was a tragic love story. They were two people that loved each other deeply, but could never express that love publicly because they lived in a time when homosexuality wasn't widely accepted and when gay men were ridiculed, isolated from their families, and sometimes even bashed or killed. They would have risked a lot if they had chosen to be together, and ultimately Ledger's character wasn't brave enough to try - a decision that made him a deeply unhappy person who became haunted by regret.Theoretically, the same story could have been done about two men who were cheating with other women. But whether I would feel the same sympathy for them would depend entirely on the circumstances of the relationship. Would they have faced the same challenges that the two characters in Brokeback Mountain faced?
wasted
Dark Knights voice kind of funny. But it did evolve into a better movie than I thought it would.I think the whole bat cave banter has to be worked on. It's not his bat life that is unbelieveable it's his real life and relationships. you'd be way more fucked up like drinking bottles of tequila and fucking celebritites not just chatting with Michale Caine about some republican chick. Angelica
Speaking of Candy I picked up Strangers With Candy and will probably get Freeks and Geeks if I have enough cash.Strangers with Candy is the shit! Both the show and the movie, but the show especially.Re Brokeback, it is a tragic love story on more than one level. Of course the wives warrant sympathy, but so do Ennis and Jack. Why do they have wives in the first place? Because as two men in love, they can't be together in that time and place. It's not a simple story of infidelity at all. Spuffy78
I think that's the first and likely the last time I'll hear a female say "The Shit" and oddly I'm slightly aroused? Oh, and now that the Soprano's DVD's are finally on sale a HMV I'll probably get the first season instead of catching re-runs on TLN.Oh, and I watched Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon(Gota love Robert parodying Loomis) Edited November 17, 2008 by Spuffy78

One of the funniest, grossest shows that ever has or will be made. Definitely get the Sopranos DVDs.
