Don't be mouthing off to me about Nic Cage, sparky!

Why he didn't get an Oscar for Peggy Sue Got Married is highway robbery !

His performance in that is maniacally brilliant. Aside from Adaptation., he doesn't seem to give a shit about the work he does anymore. As a hardcore aficianado of classic roles, it breaks my heart. :(

You know what? I'm actually okay with it because he's now king of a whole new genre. The unintentional parodies. Everything he touches is b-movie heaven. Think of the endless mystery science theater sessions you can have on the weekends with his movies.

I will say he's long overdue for a good movie though I wouldn't hold my breath for one. I think of Cage now as the new Leslie Nielsen rather than as a serious actor....

I do still see everything he does, and I'm always a fan of unintentional hilarity. I think he could try and balance it out a little, though. Did you ever get around to Vampire's Kiss? That's still my most cherished performance of his.

I just saw the most replusive gif ever and I'm trying to figure out which movie it's from...

Anyone who knows a lot of Horror and doesn't have a weak stomach let me know and I'll PM it to you.

Well the movie is High Tension.

Thank you Dann.

High tension was a good movie. I saw it in a triple billing of Hard Candy, High Tension and The Descent. I felt unpleasant afterwards needless to say.

I'm actually a bit jealous of you!

Seen them all.

But seeing them all for the first time at a movie theatre . . . . priceless.

Watched Shine A Light, The Stones thing. Pretty good :)

Rewatched Salo: 120 Days Of Sodom...any fan of extremely sick difficult to watch movies needs to see this. You will need therapy after watching this, whatever you think you've seen, trust me, this tops it. rape, multilation, shit eating, torture, cutting off toungues and cutting out eyeballs and scalping and extreme degradation and orgies and, ugh, its just all there. Few people i know can sit through it or would want to or i would even suggest to.

I once couldn't find the re-mote and actually watched an entire episode of The Joan Rivers show. I was never the same.

Watched Taken

Was I the only one who though the sad piano score in the begginging sound like the sad ending to The Incredible Hulk?

Anyone who can take down a plane full of convicts, with John Malkovich being one of the convicts, is a god in my book.

Lets not forget he also punches down women while dressed as a bear and steals their bikes!

Bitch deserved it.

Cage was so bad ass in Con Air though.

So was Malkovich.

In all honesty, Con Air is probably one of my favorite action movies EVER.

Yeah he had a good run there with Con Air, The Rock, and Face-Off.

It's been on my netflix list for 6 months. I really have to get around to watching it....just like how you have to get around to watching Carnivale. :D

Dude...it was EPIC. Most horror movies are usually godawful but "The Descent" was a thrill ride from beginning to end. I will think twice before visiting a cave. :rofl-lol:

Im sorry, off topic, The Specialist?

Decent movie, nice tittie shots of pre-milf Sharon Stone

It's a guilty pleasure. Don't judge me. :P

Con Air is sublime. I love his late 90s action trilogy. It's the Ghost Rider, Next, National Treasure shit he's doing now that disappoints me.

The Descent is fucking fabulous.

The Specialist is funnier than most comedies. Sure it's retarded, but in a loveable way.

I can't decide who was funnier, Eric Roberts, James Woods, or Rod Steiger. In any case those three made the movie. I love that wildly inappropriate Gloria Estefan song also. :rofl-lol:

The Descent sound cool. I may pick it up if I can get it cheap.

I bought a crapload of movies recently because they are so affordable now. Frantic, Napoleon Dynamite, Dude, Where My Car? (hey, it was only $4), Kill Bill 1 & 2, Presumed Innocent, Tomb Raider 1 & 2, The Ninth Gate, Blood Diamond, National Treasure, Crash, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Mallrats, Bruce Almighty, Pulp Fiction, Diabolique, The Black Dahlia, American Pie 1-3, Dumb and Dumber, The Presitge, Canonball Run 1 and 2, A Simple Plan, Se7en, The Hot Spot, The Postman Always Rings Twice, Casablanca, Harold and Kumar Guantanamo Bay, Murder by Numbers, Amercian Psycho, The Da Vinci Code, The Bourne Trilogy, Mystic River, Clerks II. Got a few more I'll pick up later this year.

I only watched the first three so far. I liked Frantic a lot, same with ND; Dude, Where's My Car? had it moments, not a lot of them though.

Steiger's accent is gold! Upon reflection though, I think you've forgotten a contender for the funniest element - awkward, bizarre and overly choreographed sex scenes involving movie stars who share absolutely NO chemistry...is there really anything more amusing?

Worst cuban accent EVER. Steiger sounds like he just made it up on the fly.

That sex scene though....is an oddity. Rather than being erotic...it just felt awkward. Sly and Sharon were literally posing like greek statues throughout the entire scene.

Oh well...the greatest scene in that movie is Rod Steiger opening up the locket, realizing he's screwed and shaking his fist in the air before getting blown up. :rofl-lol:

I saw the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet at school today. I reckon it's a good film, but it didn't really do much for me personally. I like Romeo + Juliet (the one with Leo, Claire Danes and Leguizamo) much more.

And last night I saw Seven Pounds and The Strangers, the first a 7/10, the latter 5/10.

Ong-Bak - I enjoyed this a lot! I tend to shift away from martial arts films nowadays because of the wires and boring storylines but this was great! Didn't seem to take itself too seriously and worked better because of it. Might be too violent for some though.

High Fidelity - Had read the book but never seen the film. Thought it was very good and thoroughly enjoyable. Cusack did the role well. Whereas the film adaptation of About a Boy, (another Hornby novel) I found to be very contrived, void of the usual Hornby wit present in the original work and well, you know, Hugh Grant was in it.

The Doors - Didn't like this. I realise that it wasn't meant to be accurate, as Stone's biopics usually aren't but I felt it was just Morrison rampaging around drunk and stoned for the whole film. Had its moments but left me....I don't know, disappointed?

I really liked it, but it definatly is not accurate. The make it seem like he's like that all the time.
