Hmm not really surprised with tonights setlist, but then again theres a fair amount of speculation with the new songs being debuted at the u.s shows.

If they plan to play some new songs on the U.S. tour they better start to play them now so that they can't make any mistakes.

No, Rocket Queen has been played at every show so far this year.

Oh has it, so basically it seems the same setlist right? Im hoping for somemore CD songs in the US, there is alot i havent got to hear live

To me it makes no sense to debut anything to a US audience when the rest of the world is so much more knowledgeable about the current band and lineup. Imagine the buzz from the debut of something new at Rio and the hype built up from there?

If Axl wants to play something not many US concert goers have heard then play anything from Chi Dem. With all respect to the US fan base, all they are expecting is a greatest hits session from appetite and illusion.

Lokk i'm from the U.S. and as much as I want new songs I agree with the US being the last place they should or will play new songs. Why? Cause it serves no purpose. if the U.S. fans don't know in advance that those songs will be played and that they are good it won't make any difference with regard to ticket sales.

Axl has to either reissue CD or put a single on the radio to coincide or it wont change attendance.

In fact i predict that the u.s. tour will consist of more old material than any other tour. CD songs will be cut in favor of the "hits" cause the U.S. market is bollocks right now for Guns.

Indeed, that one caught me quite off guard - I figured they'd long since "forgotten" that song. Riff Raff was a surprise to see too, as I never would have guessed they'd throw another AC/DC song into the mix.

Perhaps, but aren't we allowed to want a CD song in ADDITION to Estranged and Don't Cry? I'm thinking a Tokyo 2009 set list. ;)

Axl does an amazing job covering Bon era AC/DC, he can't go wrong.

Edit - I believe that despite all of Axl's experimentation on the illusions and Chinese, Guns N' Roses are fundamentally a hard rock band and that Axl is a classic hard rock screamer. Whether it's this incarnation of the band or the Appetite era line up for that matter, Axl and Guns are at their very best doing the kind of bone hard, raw meat music typified by AC/DC and Rose Tattoo. To prove my point, there's not a thing that even a die hard Bon era Acca Dacca fan can fault with this performance at Buenos Aires - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEw5vO3TMOs. Axl's tonsil tearing vocals would do Bon proud (not even a ghost of mickey mouse anywhere) and Ron, DJ, Buble, Frank and Tommy all seem to be happy just tearing it up. I just hope that this band shows more of their hard rock roots on any new album. While they're at it, there's no better thing than covering AC/DC :thumbsup:

Gotta admit that I'm quite impressed! Let's hope we get some pro-shot material sooner rather than later. The RIR concert was probably just a working accident due to the conditions etc. Guns rock again! Now go take the US by storm and release the next record according to plan.

Mind you, there is no doubt that they wanted a US tour to coincide with the next release. Lets hope they're ready.

While I agree that it's no big deal they're showing booklet pictures on the screen, I do find it very interesting they're suddenly using the inflatable Mao and hand.

Man where is his rasp, those video's had 0 of it.

I start to think that it won't be back anytime soon, or ever.

It was back in full force in that Jungle video from Chile. Well, maybe not full force, but it sounded pretty damn good. It just takes time. I was listening to Tokyo 2009 again earlier and there was quite a bit of clean vocals in that show, the raspy songs sounded like he was really forcing it out, but by the 2010 shows he was back in full force.
