Funny story behind this picture. This girl came up, and she was all over DJ. She kept saying, "He's my friend, He's my friend!" You can see DJ looking at me as I take this. That was right after she was all over him, and all he could say was, "I think she took my wallet."

Yeah I remember seeing her dancing at the afterparty etc lol....there were a lotta drunken messes in that joint.

Anyone else catch DJ Ashba in the Showboat Casino about 4 this morning? We were standing next to each other smoking, and I didn't even realize it was him until he turned around! Talked to him for a bit and got a pic. He was pretty cool. But, Tommy? That guy really shouldn't drink and interact with people :o

Haha, yeah that's what I mentioned earlier. He was at the afterparty looking none too happy...dunno why.

Some guy went off on him. He called him a "pretentious fucking rock star" or something, and Tommy was like, "Just take your fucking picture!" I actually ended taking the picture of Tommy, the guy, his friend, and DJ, since the guy asked me. Then Tommy just disappeared after. But, he was really going off on some people when I saw him, so I didn't even approach him.

Yeah I was a Tommy fan, especially cause I know he lives in my area, plays shows etc. I was gonna catch one, but I dunno after last night. He just didn't seem to carry himself well, but maybe it was because of the situation you just mentioned.

He was definitely drunk, that much I could tell. He was standing with DJ when I met him, but he was talking to some girl at the time. When other started coming over, he was cool at first, but he just blew up at this guy.

Yeah he blew past me at the afterparty dragging some girl along with him. It just wasn't a good vibe, lol. I was pointing out to my gf at the end of the show how strange he was acting onstage too, lol. Ya could tell he was a little polluted.

That must have been the girl he was with. Dark hair, short, really pretty? Or was that someone else I saw with him? In either case, yeah, he was definitely out there last night.

I almost went over and talked to her. But I figured if she was with Tommy or DJ, I'd get my ass kicked haha. DJ was cool, though. He saw me, and said, "Hey, what's up man?" We talked, and when I asked him for a pic, he said, "Absolutely! No problem." I thanked him, and he said, "No thank you. I appreciate it." and did that thing where he taps his heart with his fist. I had him sign my bar receipt, since that's all I had on me.

We saw Tommy a few times throughout the night as well And he did look pretty wrecked and pissed.

Well it was still a treat to see Axl, if only for a few minutes.

Wish the damn music would have kept playing so he would have hung out...

Agreed! I think he was only there for 20 minutes or so. Beta came in after he left looking for him with an ice cream sundae! I told her what happened and she scurried down the hall after him. She literally is the sweetest woman and you can see how much se cares for him and ways treats his fans so graciously. She waved at us like 3 times from side stage during the show.

Just watched Nightrain with my mouth wide open, this is nothing short of amazing...vocally it maybe one of the best performances of this song in the last decade...and there have been amazing performances...His Rasp is brutal, it sounds if anything more wild than his 2010 vocals!

The 2nd chorus is amazing, that should prove to the doubters that Axl CAN still be beastly with his vocals...when he wants to...

Even YCBM sounds decent, a mix of clean and raspy, but overall no matter it sounds strong...plus he did the "You know that YOU" shout at the end like he did in 2010!

You would have loved it! They did card at the door though because it was a club, so you might not have been able to get in, if that makes you feel any better. Michele got some picks of her and I with DJ and Beta, I will have to make sure you get a look and a pic of my signed sign too!

Anyone know how to restore deleted iPhone videos? Don't think I can do it with backup method from iTunes since my mac ran out of space before it could back up.

Got CD, WTTJ, TIL, YCBM, Don't Cry, Shacklers, Civil War, NR, Nightrain, Maddy

Looking forward to the pictures, PM :)

Here's my story for the day yesterday:

My friend and I left for the show around 11 and got to Atlantic City sometime around 1:30 or so. After driving around and trying to figure out where to park, got in touch with TurboSupra (cool dude) who told me where I could go to park. After we did, we headed back outside and walked all around the Showboat Hotel (where the band booked 30 rooms to stay) to the boardwalk and walked down to the back entrance where it said "House of Blues". The doors were locked and there weren't any fans in sight. But, after wandering around and asking various personnel at the casino who knew nothing at all, we finally came across two other fans on the boardwalk who said that the Will Call opened up at 4. So, we waited until 4 and finally went down about a quarter of. Not but a few minutes later, PurelyMagnetic and her husband showed up as well :) We all then waited until 4 so we could get our regular ticket at Will Call and after we all did, we headed upstairs to where the line queuing was. The VIP (Gold and easy pass people) and the regular GA were separated, and there were about 8 or so people in the VIP line, but only 4 of them were actual Gold VIPs (very nice group - very glad to meet you guys!). So, my friend and I were the 5th and 6th Golds, and PM and her husband were 7th and 8th (and the plan of having 'guesswehavetowaitandsee' and her sister being the next two). We talked as a Gold Group for a little bit, before finally finding out what the actual plan was for the Gold VIPs, which ended up being that we would eventually meet up downstairs at will call anyway to get our laminates and then we were going to be taken upstairs and allowed to go in. Long story short, we eventually got the laminates, went upstairs and went in, and ended up front and center.

We then waited until about 10PM when The Last Vegas went on. With an Alice Cooper/Ben Stiller combo, looking of a singer, and a slightly AC/DCish/Motley-ish sound to them, they weren't too bad. As most openers, couldn't understand a word but the music was alright. They weren't the best opener I've seen, but they weren't the worst (looking at you, Asking Alexandria). They left the stage sometime around 11 I suppose, and then the setup for Guns started. It was done a little after 11:30 I believe, but it wasn't until nearly 12 the the 'Luck' Intro started...

Albeit very small, the show was already different due to the new intro. Though I believe I liked the Dexter Intro more, the new one isn't bad. But anyway, the band started to take their positions when the Chinese intro came on. The place started going nuts already, and once everyone saw Axl came out, it got even crazier. Axl soon belted into the song and gave a fine performance, but it wasn't until Jungle when we could really hear how his voice was. When he asked the intro question and opened with the scream, we could tell he sounded great already. He was in great spirits too - smiling, little chuckles, and a lot of eye contact! It's so crazy when you notice that Axl is actually looking at you.

As usual, the It's So Easy and Mr. Brownstone were next, and hardly ever is there a bad performance of those. Then came Sorry, with a surprising amount of admiration from the crowd from what I could hear. Usually this seems to be the song where the crowd steps back a bit, but I don't believe Atlantic City did, which was awesome.

Next off was the real first treat for the night - You're Crazy. Axl sounded great, as he seems to have for ever performance of this song since The Ritz. It was really awesome hearing it and the crowd was loving it. This was a real Gn'R crowd tonight.

1467f5.jpg2e38hew.jpg

Estranged was next, and great as usual. Then came Rocket Queen, which Axl seems to have a little bit of voice troubles with lately, but I think he sounded good. Then came 4tus' solo, which is always awesome. He doesn't interact as much as DJ or Bumble, but he fucking kills that guitar. As usual, Live And Let Die was next, and I could tell something was a little different with Axl as he didn't hold the first scream as long. As we came to soon find out, Axl was still quite sick, often blowing his nose, coughing and spitting into a trash can on stage.

This I Love was next, with the usual, and still surprising crowd singing. Afterward, Axl said something along the lines of "We're going to stick with the romantic feel. Love-dovey." (etc. Not word-for-word what he said, but you get the gist). I knew it was going to be Used To Love Her and it was. I couldn't 100% tell, but I don't believe Axl sang in "Mickey" (funny thing is, PurelyMagnetic pointed out that Axl was wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt ) form the whole song - I could be wrong though. Regardless, it was really enjoyable and the crowd loved it.

Axl then introduced Tommy and after Motivation went on with the usual band intro. Dizzy then came down to do his solo and what was really cool about this was at the part when Frank stands up to get people clapping, right before he did, I started to clap and when he stood up and saw me doing it before he was, he got a big grin on his face and pointed to me. It was really cool :D I always enjoy Dizzy's solo. After he was done, he did his little bow and kind of jokingly shrugged off the cheers and did a little "drinking/tipsy" motion like he was drinking from a bottle. It was funny.

Street of Dreams came afterward and even though it was evident in the previous songs, I believe this was the first song that you could really tell that Axl was pouring everything he had that night into his performance. You can just tell when he's closing his eyes and belting out notes and getting everything out that he can to the point of having his body shake.

You Could Be Mine was next, and it's always a highlight for me as it's one of my favorite songs. Axl sounded great and the crowd, just as every other song thus far, was loving it. At the "With your ass in the air!" part, Axl didn't sing it, but a bunch of people yelled it, including myself, and when we/I did, Axl looked at me with a big grin on his face. So cool.

DJ's solo was next, which unfortunately, regardless of which one it is, is always the most "boring" part of the show for me. Afterward, he went into the solo for Sweet Child and Axl came out dressed in his usual attire for the song. Beta was at the side of the stage as well and I waved to her (second time of the night) and she smiled and gave a big wave back. She was singing throughout the song as well. Axl went over to her at one point and was messing with her while singing and she did swatted him away and was shaking her head - not in a bad way though. Axl just walked away chuckling while still singing. It was during this song where Axl showed another example of how he was just in a great mood. Before the solo I believe it was, Axl was at the front of the stage and a girl threw a shirt she had made on stage and it kind of landed on Axl's hat and fell off but he caught it. But, instead of just tossing it back, he held onto it and started waving it around when the solo started. Really cool.

Afterward, came the usual, Another Brick In The Wall, followed by Axl's piano solo, then into November Rain. And luckily and surprisingly, Axl didn't miss one beat or mess up one bit during the song. In fact, it was the best performance I've seen him do live (in person) and of recent shows, and I'm not just saying that because I was there. He was on fire and he nailed everything about the song. I didn't even see him look at the teleprompter, and I know he didn't because I was standing right in front of it.

2qi5vkn.jpg

Bumblefoot's solo was next, and before he got started, he brought his wife out on stage and played "Happy Birthday" to her, with the crowd singing along. It was really sweet. He then got started with his solo, with myself yelling to him the whole time. I'm not sure if I enjoy BBF's solo or 4tus' solo more, but regardless, it's awesome. He then did his little "I play, you sing" thing and after he was done, he looked right at me and made sure to throw his pick right to me. Of course when I went to catch it it bounced off of the tips of my fingers, but it then bounced off of the stage and I caught it with my other hand.

Don't Cry was next and was very good, though you could hear Axl's "sick" voice more on this one. Still, he gave it his all.

f0dbno.jpg

s25mhi.jpg

After Don't Cry, Axl asked gave Tommy a choice between two songs and Tommy replied with "Yes." Axl then got on the mic and told the little story and as he was walking up to the front of the stage saying "I asked him if he wanted to do this song or this song and all he said was 'Yes'.", he was looking at me and laughing while telling it. Though it means nothing, it's still just a crazy feeling when Axl Rose is looking at you. But then, to my surprise and utter enjoyment, then slammed right into Shackler's Revenge. Axl sounded on-fucking-fire, and if anyone there couldn't tell he was giving 110% during Street of Dreams, they could tell now. Axl nailed that song last night.

The next song was my biggest highlight of the night. Civil War. Everything was just perfect about it. The band killed it and Axl sounded great. Especially within the last few minutes when the song picks up, Axl was just on fire.

20j5sua.jpg

Knockin' On Heaven's Door was up next, and I believe they drug it on a little long than usual, mainly due to Axl mentioning how great and load the crowd was, and because of him taking a few moments to take some sips from his cup. I'm not sure what the exact count on the performance was, but it seemed longer than usual. And the last crowd-interaction-scream was fantastic, as well. Nightrain was next, being the final song before the encore, and it was another highlight. I think it's one of Axl's favorite songs to do live. He just seems to really love singing it and he was moving around and doing crazy little moves throughout the whole song. And, he sounded great while doing it.

hwh1zb.jpg

The encore was the usual; Madagascar with the next surprise of Whole Lotta Rosie, which was awesome as usual. Beta was rockin' out at the side of the stage as well. After Rosie, Axl asked "Do we have time for a few more?" I started shouting I.R.S. for the internal-lolz, but seeing DJ get ready for the intro to Better was good enough. And as others have said, I think it's the best performance of Better as of late and Axl loved the hell out of it the whole time. He was even jumping during the break down which was awesome to see.

Next came the intro to Patience, which is always sad to hear because you know the show only has one more song after it. The crowd loved it though.

dqnbie.jpg

The intro to Paradise City started up right after Patience ended, and it's even more upsetting to hear that intro. I love it and I hate it. But, the band gave a damn solid performance of it (and I got a DJ pick) before exiting the stage and then coming out and giving the final bow. I couldn't make out everything Axl said in his final "speech", but as he did at another recent show, he did tell us not to "take no shit from the po-po!"

Absolutely fantastic show. Better than East Rutherford, Wilkes-Barre, and Camden. No handshakes from Axl, but I think that was due to him still being sick, so he didn't want to pass it on and/or get anything else, which is understandable. It was great to enjoy the show with other fans as well (PurelyMagnetic, guesswehavetowaitandsee), and I hope anyone else that was there enjoyed it also.

Mrs. Bumblefoot just tweeted me this pic from the end of the show last night. Bumble brought her out on stage and she took a picture of the sign with her phone. Black Sabbath is on the other side of it!

Awesome! I think I'm probably in your pictures that Kat took also, so hopefully we get to see those soon also! You could try tweeting her about them. :)
