I was thinking it's been nice having some new people post in here instead of me, you and P5 all the time.

You know, my top ten would probably look exactly the same, just maybe not that order. The only one I'd lose is Melina. Not sure who I'd replace her with though. I guess I'd pick Ursula just for the iconic value even though she doesn't do much.

I think her being a perfect 10 has more to with it

Anyway, have decided to watch them all again in order. Dr. No last night. Forgot how young Connery was in it, only 32, Ursula Andress was only 26. Still a great movie, love the way the characters are introduced, especially Bond at the casino.

Opening graphics are funny now

Severine is sex on legs. Especially in the casino scene (I love the way she says 'Bond').

My list of Bond Girls goes something like this (best first)...

Tracy di Vicenzo (Diana Rigg)

Tatiana Romanova (Daniella Bianchi)

Electra King (Sophie Marceau)

Severine (Bérénice Marlohe)

Honey Rider (Ursula Andress)

Solitaire (Jane Seymour)

Aki (Akiko Wakabayashi)

Vesper (Eva Green)

Kissy Suzuku (Mie Hama)

Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh)

Worse...

Christmas Jones

Jinxs

Stacey Sutton

Tiffany Case

(In general, Americans make poor Bond girls for some reason).

Oh, I forgot Barbara Bach. Throw her on my 'best list', somewhere middle order.

Accidentally deleted JB's post...fucking delete button is next to quote on the mobile version of the forum and tapped the wrong button. Whoops

Dr. No is like my guilty pleasure of the series.

Dammit, the last thing we need is less posts in this thread.

They never work, American Bond girls. It is odd. I think Jinx was a decent attempt (a re-tread of the Michelle Yeoh style, Bond girls which 'kick arse', essentially) but it was marred by the fact that Halle Berry cannot act in the slightest.

Her off Licence to Kill wasn't bad. I think she is the best American Bond girl so far.

You guys do know Barbara Bach is American, right?

But typically American women do make terrible Bond girls. Not because they are whiny, but because they don't get it.

Take Teri Hatcher for example. She said she was pregnant so her boobs were big when she did the role. Being a Bond girl isn't about having a chest. It is the attitude that goes with it. Cary Lowell and Barbara Bach had the right attitude. They knew how to be sexy. Actually Cary and Talisa Soto were two halves of a Bond girl. Cary had the spunk and Talisa had the exotic appeal. She is the only major Bond girl that survived an entire film with another major Bond girl.

I guess raping and murdering Felix's wife was enough.

Yes,. Bach is the best American - by far - followed by Cary who was solid. They maintain America's reuputation! The rest are either of the, American bratty sttyle (Stacy Sutton) or just do not work due to acting (Denise Richards and Jinx).

Teri Hatcher may have been a good Bond girl (she has an Europeanesque sex appeal) if she wasn't a victim of TND's script problems which saw her character left on the cutting room floor. She is Elliiot Carver's wife (most improbable) who has had an affair with Bond in the past (what a coinincidence!); Bond shags her then Carver's henchmen kill her. Very misused. Apparently there were disagreements on the set when Hatcher found out how they had truncated her character.
