New GNR 2012 Retrospective: What were the highlights, in your opinion?

sorry, but with his countless attempts to bury the real GN'R legacy like his embarassing 3-days-before-the-event HOF cancelling, his stupid Slash-paranoia, dropping his long time fan Marc Canter; the cinema live show cancelling, his fear of releasing anything connected to his name (old stuff, new stuff) and his decision to go on tour-cash-grabbing with his weak weak Mickey Mouse voice etc. .....i cant see much positive other than making some people happy seeing him live covering the old Guns' songs.

butthurt level: asian.

This year seemed like a good year for GNR. It was nice to see them looking healthy and fit, and Ron having a better time with his back.

There were so many things to like and so many successful concerts. One concert alone can create 60 000 hours (20 000 x 3 h) of enjoyment and

time away from daily worries. All the new things gave hope that there might be some new music one day: the Seeker, Kimmel and Las Vegas.

It was also nice to see a bit of history in the Better video.

What is crucial to the enjoyment of live concerts is a good sound. This does not happen on its own. It requires sound personnel

who know what they are doing and are not audibly impaired from the years of working in rock concerts, and of course good equipment.

So special thanks and hugs to the creators of GNR’s concert sound!

UCAP HOB Orlando was a personal highlight of mine. Otherwise- seeing Axl and Neil Young perform together was cool- even if Axl was struggling with strep throat. Jimmy Kimmel appearance was probably the top for me. Not a "hard hitting" interview by any means- but Axl hit it out of the park and it was cool for the rest of America to see a different side of Axl.

At any rate, here's hoping for a great 2013!!!

vegas. axl delivered the goods in lots of ways. good to see him out there doing promotion.

also, as i have less than no interest in chinese democracy leftovers, i'm glad that this year wasn't full of promises about recording or releasing the next album. i kinda hope that issue quietly fades away.

Personal highlights for me were seeing them in Detroit on the ucap tour and meeting Ron there, meeting dj at a local event, seeing slash and meeting him in Detroit, and then attending the hall of fame performance and duffs shw the night before.

In general I'd say highlights were the ucap tour (it was just such a rare and amazing experience for fans), the residancy in Vegas, jimmy kimmel interview, and the hall of fame (they knocked it out of the park)

No new music this year but still a great year for all things gnr related

I thought the Up Close and Personal shows were great. Axl could have filled a stadium, but instead chose to perform in an intimate setting for his biggest fans. He's a true artist that isn't motivated by money.

If that were true, he would have dropped the name along time ago and this never ending tour would have died a few years back-not to mention he'd drop his label since he hates them so much and financed his own vision, but that's just not gonna happen anytime soon, so you see he does in fact care about $$

Yep, GNR doing 12 shows a the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and my kids and I getting to see them.

I think it was a good move to play these shows. I know other bands who have played Vegas and have done well. Def Leppard are playing the HR in March, so evidentally they think it's a good idea.

Also GNR continuing to tour the world and being seen by tons of their fans.

Axl not only going back to Dublin but playing TWAT for the first time since what, Canada or some shit? That was an amazing statement of warmth to the fans.
