I feel bad for Axl. He really hasn't aged all that bad, but he was out of the public eye so much the past 20 years, it seems like he's aged more rapidly. In the picture of 1996 where he had short hair and the beard he was around the same weight he is now. Then 2 years later in the arrest photo he was thinner. When he Reemerged in 2001 he was a normal weight but he had aged quite a bit from his last appearance. 2002 he had the cornrows and the oversize jerseys which made him look weird. 2003-2005 he wasn't seen. 2006 he had the cornrows still, but wasn't in the news much.

His last big appearance before 2009 was the 2006 VMAs when he introduced the killers, but that was only about a minute, making his last long appearance in 2002.

People like slash are in the public eye regularly, so they age more gradually. Axl is only in the front page news once every few years, so there's gaps that don't show his aging.

Axl looks alot like he did in 2001 however IMO, but how many people actually have seen pictures of him from 2001 before he had the braids?

You're comparing the worst picture from 2001 to the worst picture from 2012.

Someone posted a while back a picture of axl with the mustache photo shopped off, and it looked a lot like 2001. If he shaved the mustache and stopped wearing hats, it would look quite similar.

There were times in 2001 he looked pretty fit, that picture of him in the blue jacket is not one of them.

Since about 1995 he's always had a "deer in headlights" look during a lot of photos, like the one of him in the blue jacket. He never had that look to him before then.

That's a great comparison Angeles, he looks the same just older which of course he is. Love the way his eyebrows go up in a point & down again, Liers you're right with the hairline - possibly higher in the 2nd photo giving him more forehead but definitely nothing to show transplants or baldness.

Which is why a reunion should happen, but I would rather it be a small simple surprise one-off acoustic gig (like i suggested) instead of a multi-million dollar nostalgia tour extravaganza. That way it would feel like they were doing it because they want to play and not because they want to make money. and the public will lighten up on Axl a little bit.

It does look a little shorter than when I saw him in November in Vegas, but it's hard to tell because he kept the hat and bandana the whole time. I wish Axl would just wear a short sleeved shirt so we can see those famous tattoos. Maybe at the summer festivals. I think because Axl wears layers of clothing it looks like his heavier than he actually is.

When I saw him in Vegas he was running around that stage and dancing like he did 25 years ago, so I don't think he's at all in bad shape. He looked happy and excited to be in Vegas as did the whole band. It was a pleasure to see and hear.

when I first saw the Rolling Stones on Ed Sullivan, my friends and I thought they were all so ugly. I mean Keith Richards has always looked terrible. The only difference now is that they all had their teeth capped. lol

I believe you are correct, a lot of kids here- with a *few exceptions*. All attempting to be "cool and edgy" and missing the mark badly.
