GnR Chris Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 This must have been a pretty surreal experience.Did people just go around sampling ribs during the show? Not sure if joking, but I'll respond.Ribfest featured a "main stage" where Slash performed. They have one headliner every night. It was at the north entrance and the sound was prolific throughout the entire field. They had speakers set up by the alcohol booths and they had food in the way back end of the field. Food meaning hotdogs, corndogs, that type of shit. The rib stands were all set up on the south end far from the stage and next to a carnival. You couldn't sample ribs while listening or watching the show. Too far off.
GnR Chris Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Styx and Lynyrd Skynyrd were two. Dad bands, really. Not any new acts.Thing is, the Slash show was a huge mix of demographics age-wise. Lot of people my age (early 30s), teenagers, middle-aged folks, etc.
magisme Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Styx and Lynyrd Skynyrd were two. Clean it up, Slash. You have BBQ sauce on your reputation.
Flayer Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 It is mostly washed-up acts they get for this show. They had Sammy Hagar another year.
moreblack Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Styx is the Whitesnake of the 70s.I thought Whitesnake was the Whitesnake of the 70s.
