Iron MikeyJ
No poll, I want to leave it a blank canvas. Obviously gnr would win this, so lets take them out of the equation. Give me your 5 "best" bands of the 80's. After a while I will talley the votes and proclaim a winner.Oh and only judge each group based upon their work during that decade. bacardimayne
Does it have to be bands or just artists in general?

MB.
I agree. It's also a little difficult, I love a The Cure for example. Is it rock or not?Echo and the BunnymenI loved them, when I was young. I had these all stars and I wrote bands names on them. They were on it, just as The Cure, Siouxsie and Nina Hagen. Sixes
not sureI'd put them on a list of best 80's bands, hell best bands of all timeOf course people think Madonna is pop, but swear by Elton John. To me, Elton John is about as pop as you can get. And to me, nothing wrong with pop either....just call it music and forget labels. They're too restrictiveDuran Duran were one of the best bands of the 80's. Guaranteed nobody will call them rock, per se.
