Gracii Guns
...and I have asked some dumb questions here. Honestly, not even Yahoo answers could answer this, so I need your help.I've just moved into a new building. We each have our own kitchen, living space and bedroom, but a toilet and bathroom is shared between two flats. The other lady (she's Polish if this is a cultural thing) occasionally leaves a piece of toilet paper on the toilet seat after using it.Now, ladies, as you know that this is something we all do in a public toilet. With this flat, I don't bother as it's always really clean. But what makes it weird is that she leaves it *after* using the bathroom, and doesn't cover the whole seat, just one small portion at the front. Is this a secret symbol indicating the apocalypse is nigh, or that there's a sale on at DFS? If anyone has any insight at all as to why she might do this, I'd be interested. I don't want to upset her by moving her toilet roll or not replacing it. Now I know that I'm going to get the piss taken out of me for asking this question, but I'm ready to be a sacrifice to the altar of being neighbourly. Thanks! Val22
I guess she's not sure if the toilet is totally clean, so she puts paper around the seat before she sits down.I do this in bathrooms when I go out somewhere, but since you are sharing the bathroom with her, she just wants to make sure the seat is clean.Maybe you should just ask her why she does it?You don' t leave pee on the seat, do you? Lio
Seriously, Gracii, I have no idea. I've never seen that before, leaving a piece of paper after you've been to the toilet. On another note, I do find it strange you share a bathroom and toilet with another flat. Is that quite common ? And no, I don't leave pee on the seat. Can't be so sure of my boyfriend though. On another note, I do find it strange you share a bathroom and toilet with another flat. Is that quite common ?I don't think it's that common...we're just paying very cheap rent in a city centre, in a converted Georgian townhouse which can't be renovated that much. We don't have an oven, a freezer a dishwasher or washing machine neither. The bathroom is avocado green and the toilet is pink, which indicates the last time it was updated!

shades
this could be the worst question ever yes, ThomasMeadow once asked if any of the ladies wanted to meet him for a quickie while he was in the states, but yours is maybe right behind that one.curious indeed, I'm thinking it's just one of those unexplainable habits that some have, harmless enough but weird, do it back to her with a little lesbo note inscribed on the sheet, like "meat you here tomorrow"

Georgy Zhukov
Common courtesy. She probably cleaned the toilet seat. Polish people are nice.
DieselDaisy
I would not actually advise, asking her. Can you just imagine that as a topic breaker? ''Say, what is up with that bit of paper you leave on the bog seat?''. When do you choose to introduce this, certain question? Pick an apt time. It is not a good introductory conversation, is it - to a new neighbour? As to the practice, I have no idea. Humans do a lot of weird stuff. DieselDaisy
Common courtesy. She probably cleaned the toilet seat. Polish people are nice.Yes, that might be it. Rem acu tetigisti. That is not actually the loo roll she has used to cover the seat. It is probably just a new bit of roll, placed there to show she has cleaned the seat.

''Say, what is up with that bit of paper you leave on the bog seat?''. When do you choose to introduce this, certain question? Pick an apt time.As someone who would rather socialise with a forum of Guns N' Roses fans than meet my new neighbour, I assume you all can imagine how awkward I am normally, never mind a question where the answer might point out how unhygienic I am by comparison. Common courtesy. She probably cleaned the toilet seat. Polish people are nice. Yes, that might be it. Rem acu tetigisti. That is not actually the loo roll she has used to cover the seat. It is probably just a new bit of roll, placed there to show she has cleaned the seat.In all seriousness, she does use peach coloured loo roll normally, but then has a small roll of white which she leaves on the seat.We have an answer! Thank you mygnr! Esp. Dies and Georgy. Mystery solved!

Johnny Drama
When we say cleaned the toilet seat do we mean she cleaned her pee drops away or that she actually cleaned the toilet?

Dazey
Go and give birth to a monster that would trouble local shipping and don't flush. Do that a few times and you should have the bathroom to yourself fairly soon.
Guest Gunns
She leaves a piece on it to show you that she's cleaned the toilet after using it. Leaving a mark behind as a sign that it's free of skid marks
Johnny Drama
Maybe it's simply like her calling card. "This lavatory was shat in by The Pole".
Redhead74
It's purely for her to know whether she was the last person to use the loo or not. If the paper is still there she knows she was the last, in which case she probably just chucks it in the water and goes about her business. If she goes and the seat is clear of paper she knows that someone else has been in the interim and then she REALLY needs to clean the seat assuming that every other person living in the building that uses the facilities might be an unhygienic slob. Sounds like a snob to me. And a weirdo. I think you should mimic her actions so that she misleadingly believes she was the last person there to do something so uncouth as to take a pee or a poo.

Hadn't thought of it in that way Maybe she should lay some paper on the doorknob too, as everyone knows they are often even more unhygienic than the toilet seat.
