Estranged Reality Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I'd love to see which versions of which songs people consider to be the best since the '90s.I think this is the best version of Don't Cry that I've heard: honestly, he sounds better than he did for many of the performances in the '90s. sends chills down my spine. and this is the best rocket queen: do you guys have any others? double points to whoever is first to post nightrain from rock am ring.
IncitingChaos Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I like the one you picked but I love his voice starting at 2:42 in this one. In my opinion it's one of the only times he's had that voice since the 90's And best November rain LA 06
DR DOOM Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Ron's instrumental Don't Cry from KROQ 2006.IRS from RAR 2006 is probably my fave rendition of that song too. 1
Dean Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Two of my favorites. There was a great video of the Camden performance, but has since been taken down.

Maybe a 2006 WTTJ could top of that, but he was only good on the intro scream Edited September 21, 2015 by Strange Broue
Pedrolg Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Two of my favorites. There was a great video of the Camden performance, but has since been taken down. Man, those are bad. Axl is totally not on fire there.
Gordon Comstock Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I like the one you picked but I love his voice starting at 2:42 in this one. In my opinion it's one of the only times he's had that voice since the 90'sAgree with this. But there were better versions of November Rain than the one you posted, IMO.Here's my list:Knockin' On Heavens Door:Short version - Columbus 2002Long version - Rock Am Ring 2006Welcome To The Jungle - Tokyo 2007 Sweet Child O' Mine - Osaka 2009 Paradise City - Bucharest 2010 You're Crazy - Philadelphia 2012 Live and Let Die - Albany 2002
Dean Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Two of my favorites. There was a great video of the Camden performance, but has since been taken down. Man, those are bad. Axl is totally not on fire there. From the last 4 years, those two along with a few others are the video's I go back to. Definitely sounds better on Rocket Queen than a lot of the other recordings from the '11-'14 period. May be to do with the sound quality of them too, as the version of Don't Cry makes the guitar and bass sound amazing, plus, Duff is there.
maynard Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Every version is inferior compared to the old band. The old band had a God on guitar, new band has good professionals. Axl does sound good on some of the videos above but his younger self sang everything much better and with more passion.
