The day I would use ear plugs on a concert is the day where I should retire from live gigs.

    just my opinion.

I would understand the ear plugs in the case of people who attend huge concerts with a high frequency - very often and regularly.

yeah he gets to do solo projects/sometimes tour with other cool acts, so he has an artistic outlet, but he seemed kinda bummed he had to stop touring with Thin Lizzy cause his first priority is always going to be touring with Gn'R so it's not total freedom and Bumble talked about how frustrating it was for him when he couldn't book a solo tour cause you get a very short notice when you're in Guns and he didn't want to have to cancel solo tour dates and let down his fans.

imagine how cool it could have been for him if Axl was normal and 3-4 Gn'R albums were released with Richard's guitar all over the material with tunes he was reponsible for. (the normal bit was in jest btw)

(the normal bit is an absolutely reasonable desire! :D)

  3. I guess these people tend to realize their potential in their own solo projects, where they are the main star and can create whatever they want. It's definitely healthy. I'd go nuts playing a second guitar in a band for 20 years, not even being allowed to talk about pretty much anything except for some very general trivia or technicalities regarding the instruments...

Unfortunately it may turn out that Axl wasn’t nearly as prolific as we were led to believe. It seems he had many ideas and worked on many odds and ends. Each track required so many countless demos and enhancements that Axl was spread too thin to execute on all his grandiose plans. I don’t believe there are enough adequate vocals to finish a album.

I think it's somewhere in the middle, as usual. So while e.g. something like "3 CDs worth of music" doesn't necessarily mean 3 CDs full of individual songs, as it could be just "drums +1dB" of the same five songs, on the other hand I don't believe that just because the Village is all we've heard, the Village is all that exists and therefore there only are about 4 or 5 available songs and that's all. Nonsense.

I don't think that comment should be taken too seriously. He said: "maybe a little bit more complex". So there's the words MAYBE and LITLLE BIT. So it's probably better to not expect anything super complex. Perhaps could easily be one of the songs.

Absolutely. And so could State of Grace. I still hope there'll be some new stuff coming along the way as well. Not just Axl's old demos but also original material created by these guys. People seem to think it's impossible or useless (!) in case of GNR (and GNR only) or that expecting new songs equals expecting an all-new album without any of the CD era demos. No, that's just extremistic thinking. I hope for a nice amalgam.

Do not forget the Ukraine 🇺🇦 war + the pandemic. We have a relatively high inflation in Europe . The people here simply can not even afford a concert visit as well . Food and energy costs have increased almost twice .

In my country, gas is triple the amount it was half a year ago as of July...

It’s just more about holding ourselves accountable and representing basic standards like not shaming others with outdated remarks about eating some meat. I’m pretty sure everyone here wants this forum to be taken seriously and that’s not going to happen this way.

The world needs a little more compassion and less selfishness. Challenge yourselves to be better tomorrow and onwards. Your loved ones may even thank you

While I definitely agree that the world needs a little less selfishness and more compassion, it also needs to be pointed out that you can hide a lot of bullshit behind these nice sentiments. "I’m only doing it for the higher good / your own good; I mean well, and so my opinion is superior and I can do anything to this end, and you should think alike, otherwise..." etc., this type of crap.
And in general, you should take a huge dose of e.g. Married with Children, my friend. ;) The world definitely had its own problems in the 80s/90s, but this stuff really wasn’t one of the big things. We’re being slowly brainwashed and controlled more and more each day, while we applaud it and think everything is fine and dandy.
    Peace.

  8. Why not upload something from the actual old live era? They're not promoting NITL, they're not promoting anything really, and the movie surely contains the original studio version, no? In which case, they may as well have published something from that era. When that person close to the band died, Slash published UTLH from 93. How about Sweet Child from the same gig, for example? No, they'll just hoard everything.

No. Most of the time when I read one of your posts you are whining about this band. There is a difference between fair criticism and constantly bitching, and you can surely take it down a notch.

Oh the good old constant complaining about someone constant complaining, haven’t heard that one for a while. I can assure you I’m not one of those who bitch all the time, sometimes I’m positive too. But since most of the band’s activities and anything around it sucks one way or the other on a long-term scale, and considering this is the right place to complain about these things, then that’s what you can expect. And I'm far from being the only one here. Focus on the positives – wherever you find them – and comments from the likes of me will pass you with ease. ;)

    Edit:
Plus: when I say they should have chosen a different vid where the singer sounds good (there are occasions like that) or, even better, a song we don't have yet - is that "bitching" or "fair criticism"? To me, it's the latter. But who'll be the judge - you?
    Easy, mate.
