Release a remix album of CD stuff until you can properly release a new album if it's real. The fact these dumbfucks can't figure this out is astonishing.

He is right in that regard. Absolutely no one wants a fucking remix album with songs even further ruined, of an album, no one cared about in the first place, of a line up of GNR long gone, which never was considered to be GNR by anyone anyway. It would be the biggest joke to release that in the 4th year of the Axl/Slash/Duff reunion.

This just makes me wonder, if Fernando has to constantly keep deferring to Axl, almost unequivocally, what the hell does he actually manage or do? Does he help with the tour? Does he do anything tangible that we can see? I'm not trying to insult the guy, it seems like a quite difficult job. But with Axl having an agent, a record label, along with everyone else having an agent (and also being one of the biggest bands in the world), i just simply wonder what his week to week job consists of in the GN'R operations..

Telling those people what Axl wants, so Axl doesn't have to talk to them personally. Otherwise I think he's just a gloryfied assistant, doing whatever Axl tells him to do/doesn't want to do himself, because he's a star, with occasional own ideas, which he has to run by Axl to get it done. And bitch about the ungrateful fan base (the one, which affords him to live a life, 90 % of us never get to live).

Jesus to a Child is one of the only songs that makes me teary if I listen to it. There's just something about it that's really from the soul.

He did incredibly well for a singer that started out quite 'boyband'. He really grew as an artist.

"Careless whisper" is where it's at. Also "Freedom". Yeah. He had some great Songs.

I'm watching it now.  My memory is fuzzy after 30 years but I remember watching this over & over on MTV back then.  I remember some of the bands also had their sets mixed in or maybe that was the way MTV cut the show?  Was that a different day of the concert or something?  I seem to remember GNR being on during daylight.

Nope. It was all in one go. First the band individual performances, then the Queen performance with guest singers stepping in. Only U2 was a transmission, as they were on tour in the US. It was amazing. Even the pay TV channel broadcast that show live and for free. It was an event. Even though I though the GNR song choice boring and had hoped for more songs.

    I'm available! ;)

But seriously, they wouldn't even have to offer that much, just a little something, a small note, something nice and personal to connect and let the fans know they care and are excited to perform the cancelled gigs would do.

Yeah. But unfortunately all of them totally lack the "caring about the fans". They see us as their bank accounts.

If I was the manager, the band would have put out a message like this weeks ago:

"Each and every show cancelled due to the virus will be reschedulded as soon as possible. Those unable to attend these shows will get their money back by the time the dates are set at the latest. For those sticking with us through all this we have decided to offer both Izzy and Steven whatever they're asking to do a full classic Guns N' Roses reunion in the middle of each show for these concerts only. On top of that, we also invited Buckethead, Bumblefoot and Robin Finck to play some Chinese Democracy songs with us. We are looking forward to present a couple of new songs to you at these shows. To give you a taste of the upcoming studio album, here's a new song called [song title] you can download for free. We hope you like it. Thank you for your patience, we appreciate it a lot. See you on the road!"

Handwritten by Axl himself and handsigned by him and each member of the current lineup, uploaded on their Facebook and Instagram page along with a photo from the band in the studio.

Yay. I would vote for you as the new Manager. :P;)

Good for you. Glad to know you're doing well.

Now perhaps a little understanding and compassion for those who aren't is on the agenda.

Well. Do you have understanding and compassion for the other side?? Not that you should feel sorry for a faceless corporation which is only there to make money, but still. There are 2 sides to this refunding and rescheduling business.

  8. 1 minute ago, allwaystired said:

Maybe the situation is the same for fans who have fallen on difficult times and have hundreds locked up in a GNR show that they can't attend?

A few of them have posted above.

That brings us back to what I said some weeks ago. Still stand by that. I've invested about 3000 in concert tickets for shows that are not happening on the originally scheduled dates. I'm not sweating it. And really, it's fair game for them to wait at least until the original concert date, before they return your money.

I'll stick with my Christmas comment though.

They have our money, so there's zero gain for them in announcing rescheduled dates. When they do they'll have to give money back, so they'll delay as long as they possibly can.

And? Maybe some of these promoters (and it's not only Live Nation, but also local ones) are fighting for their lives and try to avoid having to pay back everything at once, not knowing when they can make money again. And really, how can you safely reschedule a show when some predict that there won't be any concerts until the end of 2021 or a working vaccine is found? This is a unprecedended situation and while the customer shouldn't be left holding the bag, there is also the other side of promoters already having incurred costs, with nothing to show for it and ending up having to give the money back. On the customer side, the money would be gone either way. It's not gonna kill us, having to wait for a bit to have a chance to get our money back. I'm assuming, most would want to go the rescheduled shows anyway (even if they ask for the money back now and thus complicate the situation).

Regarding the "we": I don't think it is unusual that a band manager would refer to themself as part of the band in a more broader sense. Doesn't mean Fernando thinks he is actually playing in the band.

And great if this comes to fruition. Let's wait and see :)

Yeah. It is not. Often times the manager is regarded as an unofficial member. Especially in a case like GNR, where he is family.

I hope we'll get rescheduled dates at all.. Many virologists say this virus might be around for up to 2 years.. And at their age, you can't make plans for that far away and they are the target group of old people with reduced immune system

Maybe 2019 was the last time we saw the Rolling Stones, but then they definitely ended on a high

Yeah. And stopped by a viral epidemic. Don't get more epic than that. But yeah. I worry too. Also Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Sammy Hagar, Diana Ross, Queen, Mother's Finest, Lionel Richie, Ozzy Osbourne. All acts I wanted to see this year. Who knows what will happen in 2 years.

So I requested a refund from TM and this is their response...

so no refund until a new date is announced. Could be months before we know. Pretty pissed off tbh

But why? You're not going to the rescheduled show? The money would be gone either way. Now you just have to wait a bit to see when you will get it back. Not a problem really, but a problem for (some of) these companies if they have to refund everyone at the same time.

Stubhub are a "pretty cool company"?! Hahahahahahaha!

That really does take the biscuit. They're being investigated in the UK by the Competition and Markets Regulator!

Can't we give knock the praise for the monopoly-creating, price fixing, fan exploiting, ticket-conglomerates on the head?!

Geez. We know you're a bit slow and like to twist and turn things, but if you quote, quote the whole thing. He said that they are "a pretty cool company to interact with", most likely meaning that they actually respond and try to help when you have a problem. That they are ticket scalpers and profit off people buying tickets to sell them, is a different story.

Be strong, GNRfamTM, we're all in this together

All the shows I'd go this year were postponed but this has to be the dumbest and most cryptic official statement I've read so far.

I invite you all to read the official Iron Maiden statement on social media, the difference is astonishing

Aerosmith, System of a down, Diana Ross, Faith no More have no proper postponement/rescheduled messages either. Rammstein released their statement, not saying much more than GNR at the end of last week. In Austria there is a scheme to issue coupons for cancelled shows valid until the end of '22. Only then you get the money back, should you choose to not buy a new ticket. In Switzerland they say that all postponed shows tickets (even though no new dates have been set) stay valid and that you can't return your tickets. It's not only Guns N' Roses that is fucked up. The whole industry is.

aaaaaand, here we are. a couple of weeks later. this is my post I made at the start of the epidemy. I already warned, and predicted, that mouth masks would become the new normal, and this is increasingly becoming reality. As of today, you don't step on the bus in belgium anymore without wearing a mouth mask

aaaaaand, another prediction of mine that turned out true

It's still weird and ridiculous… but you just have to go with the flow of being weird and ridiculous.

Had to remove the last couple of posts. We have a long standing policy of not allowing threats of other posters.

If you can't make your point without insulting other posters, then you need to either think on it longer or maybe not make the post at all.

Right. When the truth hurts, just delete it and shut the people up and pat yourself on the back afterwards. And how convenient you happen to like the other person's post. At least the dimwitted people, the ones lacking reading comprehension and thrive on getting off being butthurt and offended are protected. And threats?? What threats are you talking about?

Live Nation/Ticketmaster has the $ and yes every show is most likely postponed this year. It’s not like GNR is going to make the final say here to be on the hook for the tour or cut you a check for a refund. They are letting the promoter handle this like many other artists in the same position.

Did I blame GNR anywhere for this?

  18. 1 hour ago, tsinindy said:

Rough life bro. I feel sorry for you with all these difficult decisions you have to make lol

Who asked for your opinion?? Fact is, it stinks that they are trying to rush everyone into making a decision, when, most likely, every show this year gets postponed. Many people will face the problem of clashing appointments.

they are offering up to 150% of your ticket value in "concert cash" as an option as well, it sounds like your best bet is to get that concert cash and than just re-buy your tickets with it

It sounds tempting, apart from the fact that I would have to go through the same hassle to get good seats again. But really I don't trust them enough to let them keep my money for 1,5 years, if the worst case scenario should come to pass. And what happens if this company or the promoter goes belly up, because they can't do concerts for a year.

And anyone who needs or wants their money back will have the option to get a full refund within 30 days once a show has been canceled or new dates have been finalized.

I'll give them credit for at least posting something, since Fernando was called out on reddit a few hours ago about the band acting like the tour is going ahead. They probably can't just outright say the shows aren't happening yet.

And yea 'GNR fam' is stupid.

At least now we know for sure, it is Fernando. As if we needed confirmation. ;)

But really, fuck that 30 days to say whether you want to return tickets. I got 25 shows booked this year, some I only attend because they are in proximity to another and can be done in one trip. How the hell am I supposed to know which ones I keep when all of them get rescheduled? Fuck them.
