I don't think the decision is up to GnR.  It appears they are contractually obligated to play the shows they have scheduled unless the promoter or whoever booked the shows cancels/reschedules (or the govt prohibits the show from occurring at the time it is scheduled).  This is seemingly why they went ahead and played the mexico date.

Yes. But that still doesn't mean that shows that can't be performed now would get cancelled.

I wonder what they'll do regarding ticket refunds etc. Doubt we'll get anything. They'll make a tidy bit of interest sitting on millions of pounds of other people's cash for over a year - reminds me of when Michael Jackson did a "ballot" for his early tours where you had to pay upfront and got refunded months later if you weren't lucky enough to get a ticket, with the promoter / MJ's father pocketing millions from the interest on the un-ticketed funds before customers were refunded.

It wasn't "Michael Jackson" who did that. It was the concert promoter/management for/of the Jacksons Victory tour. Michael Jackson was the one who made them change this set up and for people to get tickets the usual way. Also he donated all his proceeds of that tour to charity:

    Fernando, on Reddit:

It’s hard to talk about speculative topics, from an “official capacity.”

Our November dates are likely to be the only dates we play in 2020, I truly don’t know how the US will be by our summer dates, no one does. Questions we are discussing over is do we push everything we had dated for 2020 to 2021 like everything else in the world? From football to futebol. But this can all change.

    It sucks!

Well. The sensible thing would be to do just that and use 2020 to get that fucking album done. But since GNR (or Axl) is anything but sensible, I'm preaching to the deaf one.

All i wanna know is, is there any chance at all we’ll see them return next month? I check daily to see news but if its bot cancelled yet is there much chance it will be at all?

No chance. Most countries forbid big gatherings until the end of august. They won't stage a tour where they can only do a handful of shows (if at all, as most countries, who haven't decided yet, will do what the neighboring countries are doing) and have to sit around during the days of the cancelled shows. Nevermind the flight bans to Europe that are still not lifted.

Before Ticketmaster I was on concerts and it was cheaper, without Golden Circle EE Extra Platinum Lines or some idiotic service fee. There will be more and cheaper shows without Ticketmaster.

I hate Ticketmaster, don't get me wrong, but to blame everything on one company is a little simplistic view. There are many involved to make the situation as shitty as it is.

I really liked Brosnan in the role but other than Goldeneye his films were unwatchable. Real shame because Goldeneye is really great. I kinda wish they'd kept Dalton on for a couple more movies. He was awesome as Bond and The Living Daylights is one of my all time favourite Bond movies.

    TWINE unwatchable?? Strongly disagree there.

I get a lot of Spanish lessons from the missus but so far I only know how to call somebody a fat cunt and demand they make me a cup of tea.

Well, hopefully you're not calling your missus that.

This is my favorite from late capitalism. We are only realtors, so we don't have any liability we only collect cash, so please fuck off.

Well. In a way that is true. They collect money on behalf of the concert promoters. They perform a service for the concert promoters, so those don't have to sell their tickets on their own. Of course, that's overlooking the fact that, many of these companies have the same owner/are financially connected to Ticketmaster.

JBJ just said the Jovi 2020 tour is basically over. He was on with Stern today.  The question for these tours is are they “cancelled” or “postponed”.   TM’s policy is no refunds if “postponed”.  Could be a big ouch for us consumers.

The difference is Tommy isn't a big well known name, he's only there because of his association with Alice. But he's also comfortable being on the side and letting the other 3 have the spotlight. The whole dynamic of that band had changed though from the first album to now.

Yes. But that shouldn't matter, especially not with the role he's playing and the fact that he's the most complete musician in that band. And Duff and Matt actually were big enough names that should have made them get top billing. But I know that this band is just riding Johnny's starpower, letting him play a rockstar.

  11. 7 minutes ago, MaskingApathy said:

Yeah it's like what I said earlier, Matt isn't just any old drummer. In the Vampires situation though I think he thought it was more like a band when in reality it's just Alice Joe and Johnny plus some sidemen (which is much more apparent now that Matt and Duff are gone).

Yeah. And that is all down to Alice fucking manager. Which really is ridiculous, considering that one of the sidemen is the producer and songwriter and the one who coordinates the musical side (Tommy Henriksen). Only on Johnny Depp's insistance (and defying the manager) he made it on one of the t-shirts. Really pathetic situation. Even more so when you treat Duff and Matt like that. But that's off topic I guess.

Surely he didn't actually say that? If so, what a dumb/childish way of looking at things.

Well. Sadly, he did say that. You'd think that 4 years of exclusive bragging rights would be enough. As if seeing a fucking video is the same as actually being there. Why did they film it, if they don't want anyone to see it? Fuck them.

But according to Fernando, if they released that footage, attendees would no longer have "bragging rights". TB care about the fans too much to take away their right to brag.

Yes. We've already established that he's a fucking idiot, who of course can't let it happen that his fucking friends and hanger ons loose their "bragging rights".:max:

    Metallica Monday is fantastic!

Yeah. GNR should follow suit and use this time to finally release that fucking Troubadour show with which they fucked over 10,000 people in Las Vegas, who thought they were going to see the first show. We all know they've recorded it and don't really have any plans for it. So nothing would be lost there.

I just saw on CNN news that Harvard students say the world might have to do social distancing until 2022. If I felt like screaming before I certainly do right now.

Is there not going to be any good news coming our way?

Stop checking the news every 5 minutes. One day, like a miracle (to borrow this from the idiot in command), there will be good news and you will hear about it, even without checking the news.

How video game companies hire people to try out games and get paid tons of money for it.

We teach our kids to get a college education and then they see these people playing games for a living. Sorry, but it just annoys me big time. I know these games aren't easy to play, but still it's a game.

    Don't mean to offend anyone.

Just wish there were a bunch of nerds trying to find a cure for this damn virus.

Almost 2 million people around the world have it. It's evident that most of us will get it and either survive or not? We could be carrying it now and not know it? That scares the shit out of me.

    A) those games make millions and B) stopy worrying. Won't change a thing.
