  1. It's at least 30 seconds and fits the song perfectly imo. I think Slash could do a classic solo on Perhaps, but I don't think he will. I hope I'm wrong and he knocks it out of the park, and the soundcheck solo's were just improvisations...
  2. We all know that as soon as the song is released, there will be tons of comments here about how 'Slash and Duff made it sound more like GNR'.
  3. In 2006-10 he would've nailed the chorus, but tbh as long as they have Duff and Melissa high in the mix I think it will be fine. Of course it would be better without a backing track, but they use tracks on other songs so as long as it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, it could work. It would be interesting to hear Axl scream his way through the chorus while Melissa does the "you're all alone" lines though.
  4. I have no faith that Slash will record a better solo than Robin, but I hope I'm wrong. Same with Brian's solo on Atlas, I'm pretty sure we've heard the best solos on these leftovers, but of course I'm still curious to hear the official versions. I think Perhaps has will sound better with Slash and Duff than Absurd/HS did...
  5. It seems like Axl will only sing the "you're all alone" lines so I think it will be fine. If he were singing the other parts, it would probably be a mess like Hardschool was.
  6. I've thought since it leaked that Perhaps would fit Axl's current abilities well. I'm guessing it will be similar to PTU, maybe a couple mickey lines but strong overall. I hope they play it live before it's released. The General on the other hand, I hope the exact opposite...
  7. No, there was just the few pro-shot Rose Bar songs and some clips from other shows, only a few phone videos of full songs. Pretty sure we've never got a recording of Sorry acoustic. Haven't checked since the youtube purge a few years ago but there was a really cool version of My Michelle from one of those shows.
  8. The only album Slash has talked about releasing recently is his next solo album with guest singers, coming next year. Nothing about GNR.
  9. I'm looking forward to Bad Obsession, Down On The Farm, Pretty Tied Up, Perhaps and Absurd. It would be cool to hear Anything Goes and Locomotive but I won't be too disappointed if I don't get those in Vancouver. SOYL would be a nice bonus. For songs this lineup hasn't played, I'd like to hear You Ain't The First, Black Leather, The Garden, Marseilles and Don't Cry alt lyrics.
  10. I always pictured the artwork for Perhaps being similar to Absurd - GNFNR logo and the title in a similar font. I don't hate the magic 8 ball but it's cheesy like the Hardschool artwork...
  11. Yet another update: apparently the song will debut on radio tomorrow. Another edit: It's gone. Hopefully your local pubs enjoyed it while they could. The goal posts move one Friday further down the line. Edit: The song has appeared on Touchtunes Jukeboxes. Get to your nearest bar to stream the song now. -------------------- The link.to http://gunsnroses.lnk.to/perhaps now leads to this page https://preview.mira.umusic.com/page-preview/draft/9138a71f5227422888c7a1c83f1c85a9 Where you can pre-save the song...
  12. If the linkedin post was real and they're mentioning 2 million streams in a day, is it fair to assume GNR have gone the Ashba route and are paying for likes, views, etc? If so, it's sad but not really surprising. They probably want future singles to be more successful than Absurd and HS...
  13. 100% agreed. Even in mid-October, I'd infinitely prefer to see them at Deer Lake Park (which holds about 10,000 people) instead of BC Place. They could do 2 nights at 'smaller' venues like that in certain cities. But yea, 10-20k outdoor venues are a way better setting than stadiums, and they'll probably sell about the same number of (full price) tickets anyway. The late shows definitely added to the energy, but not always in a good way lol. The first time I saw them in 2010 they hit the stage just after 10:00 and I thought they were surprisingly early!
  14. I think they've only played amphitheatre's a few times. I was at the Gorge show, it's a great venue. Wish they'd do more amphitheatre and outdoor shows in North America. The shows in Montreal and Atlanta are in parks, but the Atlanta show is a festival.
  15. GNR ended Paradise City with proper fireworks (plus normal stage pyro) on the 2016 tour. The intro to CD in 2010 where the pyro wrapped around the stage was pretty cool, as were the sparks in November Rain. It isn't really necessary, but you can't see why it would add to a stadium or arena show for a lot of the crowd? If they're just gonna keep touring the same couple dozen songs, they could at least at some 'flash' to the show if they expect to fill stadiums.
  16. Saw that earlier. Everyone saying "Axl would never go on a show like Rogans" should watch this. They could talk about comedy and totally random stuff, it would be great.
  17. Weeks? Assuming it will just be a digital release at first, and Axl was recently in a studio known for mastering work, if it isn't out this Friday or at least played at the show on Saturday, people should assume plans have changed and abandon hope for new music this year
  18. For some reason, they're all wearing different shirts on the different legs/advertisements.
  19. No, I know the one your thinking of with the Mao head and a roller coaster, but I think it was just other artwork by the same artist who did the red hand, and someone used it to make a fanmade cover. I think they also used the red hand artwork for the tour program in 2012... edit:
  20. Yea the cover was always gonna be the bike. Axl showed the artwork to the crowd at the first 2002 show in Hong Kong, but it was black and white instead of sepia or whatever it ended up being. I think the red hand or red star artwork was also used for Shackler's in Rock Band before the album was released though? I could be wrong about that.
  21. What's hard to understand? They are obviously recording their parts for a new cover of the classic song Anxious Disease.
  22. The Struts new album is supposedly coming out in November, hopefully I'll hear a bunch of new songs. Pretty Vicious (the title track) is the best song they've released so far, and they've only released a live version. Found out Mac Saturn are opening for them. They're pretty good, I saw them open for Dirty Honey last year. Really looking forward to this show...
  23. No shit the band gets paid regardless, which part of my post made it seem like I thought otherwise? The rest of your reply has nothing to do with my post and is common knowledge, but thanks for chiming in
  24. They will heavily discount the tickets leading up to the shows, and give away tons of tickets. Worst case scenario they'll close off the upper sections in some venues. I guess it all balances out if you gouge a few thousand people, then give away free or dirt-cheap tickets to another few thousand. But it's a shitty way to do things and bands like GNR are absolutely complicit with ticketbastards dynamic pricing. It would be nice if they made some news by dropping a song before the tour starts, discounted tickets and did a social media blitz all at the same time.
  25. Yes, I could either get a cheap ticket for GNR, or: a floor ticket for Maneskin, QOTSA, Arctic Monkeys, Rod Stewart/Cheap Trick, Iggy Pop/Suicidal Tendencies, Nas/Wu Tang, Sting, multiple tickets for The Struts... there's more competition, and a lot of bands that offer a better value for the cost of expensive tickets like Iron Maiden, Tool, RHCP, etc. The show in Moncton isn't even in a big venue compared to the rest of the tour, but there's tickets available in every section a week before the show and pit tickets are $375. Montreal is $125 for GA, $300 for FOS, Pit tickets for Vancouver are $440, and that's not a VIP package, it's standard admission. Those prices are all before taxes and fees. When the tickets for the 2017 shows went on sale, people could look up recent performances and see Axl killing it on WTTJ, OTGM, LALD, etc. Now if they look up recent performances of those songs and see even higher ticket prices, it shouldn't be surprising when they decide to spend their money elsewhere.
