  1. I just wish they would release what they have, Slash or Duff or not (preferably with Robin and Bucket) as an album(s) and then move on to making actual new music.
  2. They like people to remember Duff is back in the band by turning up his bass a few many too dB high throughout in spots. At least the drums are not Frank's! Probably Brain, I doubt they would have used Josh's take. Of course Slash's guitar is too high, but the solo is a C+ version of Robin's A+
  3. They also included one of the screams that leads into the verse. You can tell they added some sort of a weird effect to the "hey heys" as well.
  4. That would be amazing, same with Soul Monster. (Either with Robin or Bucket, I am lead to believe Bucket later added some killer guitars to Soul Monster)
  5. It's an old song by the Doors, likely a cover on that CD2 list from Guns. I suppose it could be a different song with the same name, or a working title, but I doubt it. Sixx: A.M. has an Oh My God, it's actually pretty good, with some cheesy lyrics. Those first two Sixx albums were pretty good.
  6. Unless it's State Of Grace. Maybe "4 Heavens" which I think is referring to the alt CD-era KOHDs
  7. It would be super special if Axl recorded a 2006 or so version of Sailing in the studio. I always imagined it as being Zodiac 13.
  8. Very well could be, definitely a cool title if they do have an actual non remix complete version. Years ago a poster jokingly said the “blood in the water” lyrics were recorded secretly in Axl’s bathroom. 😂
  9. Yes that’s the one! It had Tonto, Nothin, and Perhaps too, years before the Village leaks so it’s legit. From January 2008. Also had Catcher. Some songs floated between the first two albums. Also had Thyme, Atlas, The General, Cuban Skies, Monstrocity, TIL2, OMG2, Soul Monster, and more. Interestingly, Eye On You, Berlin/Oklahoma, Seven, Quick Song and State Of Grace were not listed. However, they may be there under different names or at the time been intended for CD1 or CD3 if not discarded altogether.
  10. Great question. I hope it’s a full song. (Not the one that leaked, it’s more repetitive than a Police song)
  11. Oh yes, a CD2 song list leaked. It’s floating around here and there. I can verify it is real, a few folks had it as early as 2011. It had around 20 songs on it, some were CD songs with the number 2 after but most were CD2 songs we have heard names of before.
  12. Melissa worked with Brain on the remix stuff too. Hopefully we get those one day. Those two are quite the pair. I think Melissa and Brain do other things than music together as well. They seem to be very close friends.
  13. Someone should just ask Brain if those are his drums on Hard Skool. If they are his, he may not be able to tell based on the awful production. If they were indeed Frank’s drums, Brain may be offended if someone had to ask it was his playing. Haha Either way, the drums and guitars from the 2000 mix are superior IMO, I do like the extended vocals and Slash’s second part of the solo. It’s possible the parts taken from Eye On You were pulled and replaced with different vocals on that song, assuming they were placeholder before and then recycled for Hard Skool. I doubt they would discard Eye On You as it basically needs a little work to be ready for an official release.
  14. Nothing was considered for CD2 in 2008. I would imagine it has been worked on subsequent to the mix we heard from 2000. Hopefully it has guitars.
  15. Someone, I hope, exists a mix of Silkworms similar to the one with Bumblefoot, but with all of Bucket's leads and the full lyrics that were present on the live performances.
  16. I loved the locker instrumental for Sorry. I wish most of the songs on the 2008 album had mixes closer to 2000.
  17. That would be amazing. Especially if it included half a dozen re-worked CD songs with Slash and Duff, and half a dozen or more untouched CD-era songs with Bucket and Robin still on them.
  18. Guns comes up as top result in Spotify for me in the US when searching Perhaps
  19. But GN’R wasn’t always Axl and Slash. It’s even in the name of the band. It may be the “classic” lineup, but there’s members in the band now that have been there far longer than Slash.
  20. Better is the song that got me into Guns N' Roses, before that, I just lumped them into being an old classic rock band with several hits, but I was far from a fan. It was only after hearing CD leaks in 2007, when I took a strong look at them, and their back catalog. As far as Slash and Axl being the "GN'R sound" Not to me, but I understand that perspective as those two are the most iconic members. As much as I hate saying it, the unreleased CD songs have to be dumbed down to fit that perspective. In time, I expect CD to age like the Star Wars prequels. They were appreciated decades after they were available.
  21. I'm sure they are the same people who reject Chinese Democracy as a Guns record, but consider songs from those same sessions, remove bass and lead guitar parts (that are arguably superior) from the original musicians that created those songs and paste in Slash and Duff and now they are GN'R songs.
  22. I agree, and I hope so too. I'm more concerned about the songs with Bucket leads and solos, and their fate.
  23. Perhaps doesn't really warrant a long drawn out epic solo like TWAT, SCOM, etc. Robin's initial high note meshes very well with Axl's vocals that lead into the solo. I hope Slash at least tries to capture Robin's feel on that track.
  24. While that is possible, I believe the 2000 mix of Hard Skool was much closer to whatever "final" CD era mix they had in 2014 (or whatever). I'm basing that assumption on that most of the other mixes from around that time that were included on the 2008 album were not changed vastly, at least not enough to be considered re-worked, and there was little or no need to, due to the lineup around the time the album dropped. I was actually thinking about how the 2008 mix of Jackie Chan aka Hardschool sounded. If I were a betting man, I'd say it was close to the 2000 mix, with the usual amount of additional or over production the rest of the album suffered from, but still had all of Robin's and whomever else's leads intact, Brain instead of Josh on drums, and perhaps a more elaborate introl so it just doesn't cut in from a guitar. I wonder if they had the extended/repeated chorus vocals in the end that the official version had.
