  1. I really like the "Bucket songs" Shackler's, Sorry, Scraped, If The World, etc. I hope we get to hear more eventually, somehow. I too hope we get to hear the version with Bucket's solo. The Village version has a different solo than what can be heard in the multi track.
  2. And they say the stars don't look the same, I may have changed yet I have my soul to claim (The above is close, if not the same was what was posted years ago) A member has it in their signature too. It's out there.
  3. Cool project. Will they sound more like CD-era Axl? That would be more fitting. CD Axl seems to mostly have his high and low clean voice, and high "rasp" voice. His lower "rasp" isn't on it as much, except for Madagascar which it sounds different than the AFD and UYI stuff.
  4. That is correct, I have that tour book, and "cover b" CD which is the red hand. They pressed some this way. Even has the Best Buy sticker on it, and a small hole drilled in the case which indicates it was promo only and not for sale, at least those copies.
  5. Even if Axl was recording vocals for GN'R, it doesn't mean much as he's recorded vocals decades ago on material that hasn't been released yet... The difference here, is they clearly want us to know, to drum up attention with the photo by posting it on social media.
  6. Not really. Purely from a quality of material standpoint, I believe CD2, as it existed proper to the NITL lineup, would be the best possible release. The only better option would be that, with all of Bucket’s parts restored (removing Bumblefoot when present).
  7. I agree with all your points, I just accept that the mixes by 2008 were probably not going to change much in my hypothetical situation with Bucket’s parts being restored. The Village mixes were superior IMO in just about every way, especially The Blues with the synth or keyboards.
  8. Brain's drums on the disc with the three versions are fucking amazing, I wish they mixed Axl better on that disc. Aside from Perhaps having two verses repeated, it's solid as is, IMO, I suppose that works for that song. I sure as fuck hope they keep Brain's drums on Atlas, and with Perhaps, I assume they will use Brain's take instead of Josh's take. Unless Frank did drums for either. They mixed Brain's drums on Absurd far too low, IMO. It's painful listening the the 2008 album, then the two new singles and comparing the quality of mixing. The 2008 album being mixed pretty damn well, except for the bass IMO it needed 1-2 dB boost but aside from that it and the mastering was wonderful. The entire CD 1-2 with no Bumblefoot (Bucket's parts restored) with Tommy's bass cranked up a bit, oh that would be the bee's knees!
  9. After hearing Atlas, I couldn't agree more on it being an odd single. I remember playing it for a few co-workers years ago along with Hardschool and while they both thought Hardschool was ok, they said Atlas was boring. It was underwhelming, after being hyped up for years. I played them one of the versions from 2001 with Brains drums, those mixes had Axl too low in the mix, so it was not an ideal version of that song. I like the RM1 version, but the 2001 mix that was on one of the CDs with Zodiac was more polished. The part of the chorus: I'd be the last to say, don't follow your heart, but there's more to what it takes to be a man" has a bit of an odd flow in the latter part but it's a rough mix and has probably been re-worked since it's been 22 fucking years the last version most of us heard was mixed. It still gets me we got a 2000 mix of Zodiac labeled with "no vox" and a 2001 CD with Zodiac without that tag, but no vocals. Damn, missed that one!
  10. That is a good point, and one that came up after the 2008 album was released as well, as all of the previously leaked songs were on the album. I do believe leaks influence what material they put out next, that very well may be the case.
  11. Hopefully what we heard in the sound check is Slash playing Robin's solo, that by some miracle will make it into the final version. I hope they keep Bucket's work on Soul Monster as well. (That's all that the Village mix needed, and Axl's vocals of course) @Brodie rest in peace. I know you were upset by the thought of Bumblefoot recording over Bucket's Soul Monster parts, now, we have an even more dire situation with Slash possibly messing that song up. I hope you can enjoy all what has found you over the years in heaven. <3
  12. Brain talked about vocals on Seven as well, unless he was joking. (He commented on the chorus and bridge, if I remember correctly, using words that would make some people uncomfortable, except Melissa ) And Axl talking about recording vocals for Soul Monster. I also strongly believe the following original songs have "final" vocal takes: Berlin Tonto Cuban Skies Monstrocity I wish I knew if State Of Grace was further developed beyond what we heard from the 2000 Village mix. All it needs is a killer Buckethead/Robin solo and a final vocal take, which eventually of course would be replaced with an acceptable Slash lead guitar take, possibly shit drums by Frank too, or processed to death drums like with Hard Skool, which is unforgivable after the amazing Josh drums laid down for the 2000 mix we heard. I'm sure Brain did that song justice, as he does, but we will probably never hear that mix. (I hope I'm wrong, or perhaps I am wrong) Those who were at the 2010 Vienna after-party where The General and Silkworms were played said there were one or more other songs played, with vocals, one of which was piano driven, and not Perhaps. I don't think it was mentioned by name earlier in this post. Not to mention Axl said in 2006 they were working on 32 songs with 26 nearly done, and in 2014 saying they had the second part of Chinese Democracy finished, and for a while. All of this leads to a logical conclusion of them having considerably more material than just Atlas, Perhaps, Nothing, Eye On You, Quick Song (presumably with a finished vocal take that uses intelligible lyrics), and Oh My God left in the vault. I don't get why people can't wrap their minds around there being stuff recorded after 1999-2001, I'm sure if we had a massive leak of the 2004 vault instead or in addition to the Village leaks, people would assume that Axl hasn't worked on anything post 2004 just because that is what they have. And the Village leaks wasn't everything the band had, it was just what was used as reference material to the then current camp, so probably a bulk of it, but not everything. We know they worked on Oh My God post 1999, yet it was not on those discs, nor was any version of This I Love, and apparently it was worked on in early CD sessions.
  13. Must be adopted, my real little brother is not a GN'R fan, mostly because he doesn't like Axl's singing.
  14. Axl probably recorded vocals to several others songs we heard as instrumentals from the Village leak, as well, in addition to others we didn't hear in any form from that period. (Liked Scraped, This I Love, etc.)
  15. Weeks from now, after they drop Perhaps, we will all be complaining about how much time has gone by before hearing the next single, The General. Then, after we finally get it, we will have to wait 1-2 more years for Atlas Shrugged and Oh My God.
  16. Maybe those will be present in the released studio version. Slash’s solo sounds fairly close to the Finck one, or at least inspired by it, which makes sense and not a totally new thing like with Hard Skool. I wish they didn’t restructure Hard Skool so much from the Village version.
  17. You can find the entire list of the “MSL documents” online. (Not the contents, though the titles of each document/email/file are telling and summarize the contents) A few items mentioned leaked. They are real. I’ve reads bits, including an excerpt from Axl’s book on his take on the riot during the tour with Metallica. All I remember was he was blamed for it and it was a misunderstanding. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happened. Just think for a second, what would happen if someone posted proof they had such a collection of confidential documents? Who do you think would eventually notice, and how would they respond? Doesn’t take a detective to figure it out. Yes, MSL has a history of fluffing up what he has, and did in the aspect of only having a handful of remixes, but not having the actual songs to CD2 (only a list of them) many probably don’t remember the video or videos of him reading some of the material. It was interesting, to say the least. All real, I hope it gets out there: Wouldn’t help the band, some of the titles of the documents are comical (everyone hating Tommy and wanting him fired, Beta on how to trick Axl, Axl wanting to fire and sue Ashba, people asking when they will be paid by the band, how many albums they should release, Axl wanting to dissolve the band, etc.) The emails would show what we already know in that it’s one big huge dysfunctional family, and over ten years later, nothing changed, except plans.
  18. There’s 12-14 songs on there after removing the CD remix (or whatever) songs. So it’s more of an album (CD2) and a remix EP, or bonus tracks.
  19. I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but years ago a mix of Oh My God leaked that has Buckethead and Bumblefoot on it. "OMG2" also appeared on the leaked CD2 list. Axl mentioned a remix that is not taken that seriously anymore, however, the description of his remix didn't fit the Buckethead/Bumblefoot leak, so they worked on different versions post-1999. (Maybe one was for the remix album?) So, it's not outside of reason to assume at one point between 1999 to present they at the very least considered re-releasing one or more different versions of it seeing how they spent time/effort and money working on it post the 1999 version... We have the strangely mixed leaks of Oh My God, Silkworms, Going Down, and Atlas is rumored to be out there with Bumblefoot's guitar isolated in one channel. These exist for a reason, though I'm not sure if anyone really knows what they were for.
  20. Why would you think that? The first single from the 2008 album was Chinese Democracy, which is far from the strongest song on that album. The same with Absurd.
  21. There is evidence in the form of a leaked screenshot that includes Tonto in a list of songs for CD2. The list is a screen shot of an email from January 25, 2008 with the subject "CD2" and Tonto is listed as "Tonto V Br" It's likely the song was worked on from 2000-2008, especially since it showed up on a list from 2008 alongside other songs such as The General, Atlas Shrugged, Cuban Skies, Going Down, Silkworms, Perhaps, Nothing, Soul Monster, Jackie Chan (Hard Skool) and others. I happen to know the list is real, as do a few others here, but for any who doubt, that list contained three songs that were unknown but were present in the Village leaks. (Nothing, Perhaps, and Tonto) The date on the file I have is from 2011. The most interesting thing about the list to me, are the exclusion of songs (at least by name) such as Oklahoma/Berlin, State Of Grace, Zodiac 13, Seven, and Quick Song. A song called "Monstrocity" is listed, that could be one of them, as Axl said most known titles are working titles and subject to change. Back in early 2008 though, three albums were very much still considered, as Axl told Sebastian Bach in 2007 (or so) that The General would be on the third album, in 2012... If you are saying the leaked CD2 list is not real, it is. Are you also saying there is not at least one more album worth of material? Axl himself has confirmed this. In 2006, Axl said they had 2.5 albums worth of material.
  22. I don't think there needs to be. It certainly wasn't because of a lack of quality material. A "CD2" song list leaked and the list itself was dated months prior to the 2008 album release that has a list of songs, of the songs listed, only one of them was on the 2008 album. (Catcher) and it has been said a few songs bounced between the first two records because of how they fit in the others.
  23. It has nothing to do with "making the cut" with the songs that were not on the 2008 record. They planned on putting out more than one record worth of material, so the "big guns" were spread across multiple, 2-3 records. Several band interviews have backed this up.
  24. Slash was out of the band for years when a ton of material was recorded. It's a different situation. He wasn't involved in most, if not all of the CD-era songs so if anything, he should feel a little pressure re-recording Bucket and Robin's work on songs that were "finished" years prior to his involvement.
  25. What I mean was having half a dozen or so songs with Slash on them, and the other half a dozen or so were kept intact from the CD era. It's entirely possible Axl is 100% satisfied with some of the mixes from years ago, and doesn't want them touched in any way. Maybe the songs the NITL lineup are doing are the ones Axl felt needed additional work.
