Perhaps - New Guns N' Roses Single - Discussion
Rovim replied to downzy's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
how do you know this? seems like it's just a guess. You don't know what the thought process was behind it. Maybe Axl thought that Perhaps belonged on a potential next release for example. -
huh? what is it you're trying to poorly express now?

what a load of shit

Atlas Shrugged (November Release?)
Rovim replied to ajyoli's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
yeah I understand, but it at least to me it makes more sense to rerelease such an old song in connection to a box set of their most popular release. Not rerelease a reworked version of OMG, which had a poor reception among the casuals. I agree it's still possible it could get rereleased, I just think it would be pathetic even if to me OMG is a great song. I guess it's my own personal perference that Gn'R would move forward when it comes to studio material. -

SOYL was rereleased as a single as a part of the AFD box set, or in connection with that box set. -
good stuff. Maybe their final studio album, but at least they got around to doing another one.

Atlas Shrugged (November Release?)

but Axl said it wasn't taken seriously so just because they tinkered with it some more and it was on a list, doesn't mean they planned to rerelease it, and I don't see the point of doing so outside of being a part of a Chinese box set or I guess as a part of a remix album. -
I think it's also worth mentioning that it's not like every band member is keeping totally silent, and what Slash said for example does have value imo, which to me is giving a general idea of what direction Gn'R could possibly take in the future, but it's still very far from a confirmed plan by Axl, a release date of an album, on what kind of material the focus could shift to (old/new/hybrid), etc.

Leaks seem to diminish appreciation of final versions
Rovim replied to alfa75's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I guess there's a little bit of that, getting attached to the first version of a song you've heard and Axl touched on that as well when he talked about the album, but sometimes a previous version is just better for me based on the music, like Catcher for example. I'd like to believe I can trust my ears without me getting used to or attached to a leaked version coloring my perception of it. when it comes to Gn'R and the Chinese era, there are many official studio versions that I prefer to the leaks and same with other musicians/bands. -
from what we already know with vocals - State Of Grace (even if the song doesn't need it, I would like Slash to add a mean solo to it, it doesn't have to be long either) but if I could only pick one, it's Down By The Ocean for 2 reasons: it's an Izzy tune with Axl having the time and freedom to work on it as he pleases and also Axl must have really liked it if he asked Izzy to give the song to him.

where are you getting this from, if you don't mind me asking? have you read the interview Axl gave Revolver in 2014? I believe that what Axl meant by saying the second half of Chinese was completed for a while almost a decade ago means with full vocals and lyrics and the number of tracks are comparable to Chinese Democracy. -

there are more than 6 tracks with full vocals and lyrics if you believe what Axl said about the second half of Chinese in 2014. -

I wonder how many tracks Slash and Duff reworked exactly. Do we actually know that it was 6 tracks and that's it? or that was just the number Slash thought would actually see the light of day. -

it's fair to say that that's your opinion, I happen to really like it, even if I prefer Robin's original solo. -
damn, that's ugly. I like the ufo's though. The guitar looks too real and disturbs the "flow" of it imo as well.

you're like Slash's lawyer sometimes. It seems to bother you that not everyone on the internet respects Slash. You and a few others. I think the issue is not that you chose to react, it's that the reason for your reaction is kinda childish. I don't mean to be a dick about it, just sharing my view on how I see it. like you're trying to balance the scales cause sometimes people talk shit about Slash, you didn't pass the chance to talk shit about Robin. Surely you see that that's kinda silly.
