  1. not sure if this was already posted, another Duff interview: “I was very influenced by Prince’s bass playing – he had a high-end to his sound, and I incorporated that into Appetite for Destruction”: Duff McKagan names 7 bassists who shaped his sound | Guitar World
  2. yes and not many people liked it, but they kept playing it anyway, maybe more for themselves. Same shit could happen with The General even if it's "just" a B side. A B side could be a quality tune or a tune that Axl really likes. Why else would he release it, but I guess time will tell.
  3. it's not that far fetched imo that Tommy hasn't heard the new version. Maybe it's hard to imagine that Tommy wasn't curious enough to check it out, I get it, but I trust that he just doesn't give enough of a fuck in general for him to lie about this.
  4. only on vinyl for now. Could be on other media and digital later on. Was Absurd mainstream? they played it many times and even if it's not the same situation as with The General, a song we haven't even heard yet, Axl seems to like to perform live the tunes he still releases from the Chinese era.
  5. AC/DC fans are pretty critical of AC/DC themselves, but my point is that Axl's ability as a singer, diminishing ability whatever, is not a good enough of a reason of not giving an opinion on shit if you care about it, like how Brian sounded like at this AC/DC show cause it sometimes leads to an interesting discussion and maybe even sometimes gives us a clearer picture when it comes to live vocals which is a huge part of most hard rock shows.
  6. I don't get why that's hysterical in a Gn'R context. You can critic both Axl and Brian as singers with taking into consideration age, health, personal circumstances, etc. I can stay all night just watching tv, finger painting, and eating pasta if I want, there are no limits.
  7. James said Chinese was a good record or something like that
  8. can't wait for The General to be released. Tough 3 weeks, but hoping for a big gun. Absurd, HS, and Perhaps are all nice tunes imo, but not big guns as Axl used to call the more high quality tunes.
  9. where would we be without all those legit Gn'R insiders
  10. they could write an AFD ll type of record, another masterpiece, but only if they get the old gang back together, it's clear cause we don't have evidence to support the contrary. This is your way of thinking, ignoring shit like it's not the mid '80's anymore and no one from the classic lineup have even come close to that sort of quality of material (AFD, YCBM, Estranged, NR, Nightrain, whatever) in over 30 years.
  11. yeah....idk if that would be a big issue or even an issue at all. The people who are interested in a full reunion don't care about Shackler's Revenge being performed live (you know... at least the vast majority)
  12. saw it a few weeks ago. Didn't enjoy it at all. At least Harrison Ford is still doing interesting things in tv, and Blade Runner 2049 was great imo, but I have fond memories of the Indiana Jones franchise, so was hoping for at least a decent watch, but it was very bland.
  13. but logic still exists, and since The General is the B or R side to Perhaps, I'd say there's a good chance The General was also mastered by Ludwig.
  14. Scott wore somewhat similar silver pants in the Slither video. (but with no shirt which is a different look) agreed about the tight jeans with Axl's legs, it doesn't work.
  15. but what about Adler's mom and the fact Izzy hasn't been on a tour since he was still in his 30's, why the hassle when they're doing fine on their own, the current lineup. It will also shift focus from the current lineup to the AFD5 and I'm not sure that Axl wants that to happen. Never say never, but Gn'R is doing victory laps all over the world, even releasing some old Chinese tunes, while still making a lot of money, so at least for now, I don't think there's a need for Axl to do that. For most Gn'R fans, it's all about Axl and Slash anyway, as was previously mentioned in this thread.
  16. Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist BUMBLEFOOT On 'Chinese Democracy': It Was 'A Deep Album With A Lot Of Layers' - BLABBERMOUTH.NET
  17. hopefully Brian will deliver, he seems so excited about this show, I really want it to be a good AC./DC show, also obviously excited for Gn'R.
  18. I don't think DJ is talentless, but he's not a great guitar player. He even said something like that about himself. In Gn'R there were always great lead guitar players. Also his image was too much and felt forced at least to a lot of hardcore fans. If you can't play the second half of the SCOM solo, what are you doing in Gn'R? I don't think it was a good match, at least not musically. liked his solo spots though, he is a melodic player and a pretty good composer imo. (in his style)
  19. what is it with you and being so insulting to the rest of the fans here? relax, you can still express your opinions without being a cunt.
  20. I remember this article. It seems that Ludwig left it for Axl to decide and didn't try to make him choose the version he thought was the best sounding one.
  21. I said "too deaf" meaning I think a lot of 60 year old musicians still got the ears to hear the details. My question about Ludwig was pretty straight forward: do we know for a fact that he tried in any way to convince Axl to choose his favorite version of the mastered Chinese Democracy, but maybe you don't know, which is fine. I was just curious.
  22. do we know that Ludwig pushed for the dynamic master version of Chinese to be chosen by Axl? I highly doubt it was ignorance. Axl has been doing this for a long time. also, not all 60 year old men are too deaf to notice the details in a piece of music. Some still have the ears of a bat even in their 70 year old or whatever.
