Opinions: last Izzy/slash recording : GHOST.

agreed about Stockdale doing a great job on By The Sword, but honestly, I find his voice kinda too whiny for a full record. It was cool for one song imo and he also gave a near perfect live performance of By The Sword on Leno, you could tell that Slash was happy with the performance at the end of it. Still, I gotta wonder what Axl would have done with that song and also other strong Slash compositions. -
yes, it is a (hideous) Versace shirt.

Slash and Izzy sound cool on Ghost. I still listen to it sometimes and to the full Slash and friends album. I don't think it captured the AFD magic, I don't believe that's possible, but the tune is good imo. By The Sword is the one I would have chosen for Axl to work and sing on as I feel it had the most potential if I could only choose one tune from the album for Axl to turn into a Gn'R track. -
hand me that shirt

think I'll call what we're doing right now Chinese Roulette. It's so risky if you forget even for a second how good Axl is at not releasing anything. What makes me hopeful is how happy Axl seems to be on stage and a lot of soft evidence suggesting things are probably in motion, even if nothing gets released this year. the spectrum of possible outcomes with Axl is too big for it to be predictable enough to get my hopes up, but I think it's a long game kinda thing with Gn'R so it's only a matter of time until we'll get more material released.

nice, my guess is that Perhaps is going to be released this year, most likely. The way it goes with Axl, is that he's capable of always delaying or not releasing a piece of music cause he doesn't feel like doing it anymore, but he seems to be in a good place in his life right now which is why I'm very optimistic about us getting at least Perhaps soon, like Frank said.

for me Metallica just got less and less inspired with every new release post 2000 and it has been a consistent decline in quality imo. I'd say they've peaked quite early and I wonder how their albums would have sounded like after MOP had Cliff was still alive and still a part of the band. 72 Seasons is the most generic main Metallica album imo.

Unofficial GNR Social Media Update / Discussion
Rovim replied to RussTCB's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
her post about shit not happening to her but for her (whatever that means) leads me to believe that something negative has happened to her in connection to Gn'R or in her personal life like you said. If true, I hope she's alright, she seems like a nice person. (her artistic choices aside) -
it's weird that it doesn't work, trying to apply logic to Axl, but imo it's not possible. His perspective is probably too different and it doesn't make sense to us because it's too far from what most people in his position would probably do in a similar situation. Most musicians does not apply. He's not going to change, but imho, I think it's highly likely that a song or two are released this year or at least that soon is the word when it comes to at least another tune released.

Gn'R is not punk or cool enough for the writer of this review. He sounds like a snob imo and I think it doesn't really represents Gn'R in an accurate way when they are described as macho and it was always the type of band where more is more. Axl's current singing voice is not for everyone, that's valid but other than that, I'm not sure what show this dude was watching, he seems to not be into Gn'R in the first place. A few funny descriptions in there though, so not a waste of time to read imo, even if I found it to be quite harsh and unforgiving. Axl sang Reckless Life just fine for example I think and a most of the show was strong vocally as well so this particular reviewer seems kinda biased and even closed minded.

very good show with lots of cool moments. The mix was surprisingly awful, but whatever. It's another show where Axl gave it his all. watching it, it felt like Gn'R belonged there with how receptive the crowd seemed to be. They pretty much nailed it in the areas where it mattered most musically. Also nice to see how happy Axl seemed to be on that stage.

I don't feel strongly enough about anyone here that I would block them, but I'm not trying to explain to you rocket science here, just my opinion which you seemed to understand perfectly in the past. making it about them is when you decide that it must be a character flaw in the poster that disagrees with you and not the possibility that you were/are wrong which seems to maybe hurt your fragile ego.

you made it seem like Glasto could be very damaging to Gn'R or at least that's how I took it. Now, the worst that could happen is some people might "take the piss" that's the backpedaling imo. not sure you're capable of discussing shit with people that disagree with you without making it about them which makes it tedious. Enjoy the show.
