  1. It’ll just be on streaming when it comes out. It was only announced to promote the record. When it comes out, it’ll be out- out
  2. Agreed! I wouldn’t say I’m an Eminem fan but I saw him at Lollapalooza in 2011 and he had a great set
  3. His modern tone is still really good, but it’s more in the JTM/Super Lead side of things as opposed to the JCM side. I think he’s still using a Silver Jubilee, but he’s very reserved with the gain. I agree he should crank it a bit on some songs like Perhaps! The rhythm verses in Absurd were pretty crunchy, and the little solos in HS have more gain than the Perhaps solo I was listening to UYI and FUCK, is that the best Slash’s tone ever was
  4. Just need some new Mick Taylor and some old Charlie playing if they have it
  5. Guitars, Star Wars crap, and as of a few months ago I have amassed an incredible Led Zeppelin vinyl bootleg collection
  6. We’d like it, but I guess in hindsight, his media blackout is fine for them. They can tour stadiums without talk shows and shit
  7. Agreed! I feel like this is them throwing us a bone and it goes an very long way for me as a fan. 15 years of waiting for this and it’s actually happening! We’ll have to probably “settle” for Atlas next but maybe you are right! Atlas was definitely the safe choice instead of The General since it always was leaked
  8. Paul’s involvement, departure, and disappearance is one of the stranger pieces of GNR lore
  9. I feel like there’s no way the 2018 version didn’t have a lot of new shit on it. It sounds impeccable, how did that sit unheard for 30+ years? Maybe they had the bones of a Mike Clink recording with new shit on top. Who knows
  10. I think this tour is great, I just already saw my show and I doubt The General will be played for at least another month They aren’t like a Zeppelin where every show is different even with the same songs. Slash and Richard are pretty good about playing the songs the same
  11. Some rotation spots could be fun, like Shadow/Reckless or Brownstone/Michelle
  12. The General is going to be surreal . If we ever got Tonto, Soul Monster, Berlin, Zodiac, and Quicksong with vocals I’d be ecstatic. Would be cool to hear Seven and Idea of March if those were ever finished, too.
  13. Very old poster from like 10+ years ago. I wouldn’t put stock into that, it’s probably a troll
  14. Awful Just the worst addition possible to the band
  15. Yup, I’m very happy as a fan. I know we all want an album, but The General is the song we would have wanted the most off of it. I’m stoked it’s coming I also don’t think anyone in Guns intended for it to implode in 2016. Getting together for Coachella clearly meant it was supposed to be a permanent thing. It just could have imploded
  16. How is the guitar bad? There are like 3 mini solos that are textbook Slash and what he does with the slide for the main one is pretty cool
  17. Maybe this will force DJ into a GNR reunion #hopeandpray #dementedreunion #2Guns2Roses
  18. After a bit over a week, I think this is a pretty solid song release. As a song, it’s a little bare with the parts and lyrics, but it works. Axl seems to like the verse-chorus- bridge/solo- verse- chorus arrangement which is a bit unconventional. They do it on You’re Crazy, Yesterday’s, and Sorry, too. It’s hard to judge because we’ve only gotten 18 original songs in like 30 years, so it’s easy to want everything to be incredible. Without that lens, this is a fun tune. Some cool melodies, a great Axl- chorus, catchy piano, and some Slash and Duff to add the classic- GNR sound. It doesnt overstay its welcome, and even though the lyrics repeat, there are some flourishes with the guitars, piano, and drums that keep the last bit interesting. Song sounds great the more I listen to it. I for sure like the final Absurd and HS versions more than the demos, but I like different things about Perhaps’ two versions. Chorus sounds heavier on the original, and I like a lot of Robins playing. Mix is better on the final and it’s bluesier. Sounds more like a GnR song whereas the original sounded like an early 2000s song (which it was) with Robin’s guitar tone and style. Final is actually less in-your-face with the guitars (aside from the solo), but there are still a lot of cool things going on quietly in the mix to bring it out. Slash s was relatively reserved on this one whereas he was all over Hard Skool and Absurd with lead guitar. Suits the song. Glad to have both and I do really dig how it turned out.
