  1. Because the orchestra intro used from 2006 to 11 was confirmed as from The General and the cell phone clip has parts from the orchestral intro in and the same melody.
  2. Chinese went to no.27 in the UK on the main singles chart and 34 in the US on the top 100.
  3. It does make you wonder how Axl sells the idea of the single every two years thing to the band. Unless they're aware how little there is left in the vault.
  4. Pitman was the man. Loved him. This never fails to be funny though this gif. But seriously his contributions to CD are vital.
  5. Next year looks to be a break from touring so the next single maybe 2025. I wouldn't have thought a whole album though until they've finished putting one or two singles out that can be compiled in to an album.
  6. In that case i guess Zodiac, Oklahoma, Quick Song, Thyme, Seven will be coming over the next few years then.
  7. Are people still saying it will be an instrumental? I haven't see anyone say that since the start of this thread?
  8. I agree with the above and can see it from both sides. But it's the idea that he has at least another 10 songs sat there finished ready to go. The stuff we've got that batches the finished tracks on the discs, aside from the General is very telling. And it'll be Atlas next, not Zodiac, not Quick Song etc.
  9. Try and ask a few questions about Chinese leftovers. And the big question, what does he think about 3 seconds of his solo remaining on Perhaps...
  10. I love to think of there being all these complete songs with vocals, I really do, don't get me wrong. Just deep down do you really believe there's a huge selection finished and has been for the last 15 years? Sorry to channel Pele but I think he was pretty spot on with the reality of it all. When I heard Hard Skool with the recycled 'heys' from Eye on You my heart sank and it became apparent they had so little vocal to work with that they needed to copy and paste heys... And yet some people think we're gonna be hearing Tonto or Moustache or Beta's Barn with vocals....
  11. There never was a complete follow up. What we're getting now are the few remaining tracks with vocals. Unless you really think Zodiac, Quick Song etc are sat there complete with vocals just waiting to come out. Musically yes, probably dozens of songs. Vocally, we're at the end after the General, Soul Monster and Atlas.
  12. Bucket has done an interview (audio not visual though) out of character, I think it was his first ever. Not sure it mentioned Guns though.
  13. Urgh. You just know we'll be using this quote to fuel another years worth of the new album thread, just like we did with Slash's comments.
  14. Exactly. Remember they signed NDAs so there's very little they can discuss. Hence why it's usually "yeah that was a crazy time, Axl is an amazing guy. Glad you like the album"
  15. I can totally see that. I have no belief a new album will ever happen but wouldn't rule out a badly put together new best of with the songs so far and a few live scraps.
  16. Just from the era it came out I think. To give it a more timeless sound and something palatable for 2008. Rather than the agressive nu metal sound of the 2000 stuff.
  17. RTB came a lot earlier then we originally thought, there was a handover period with Sean wasn't there?
  18. Yeah I've said this a few times. We always mocked Baz for saying the doom metal thing but when you hear the Village leak it's true, the guitars in the chorus are absurdly heavy! One of the heaviest Guns moments I'd say. He was right. It's the problem with the album though, all the depth was knocked out of the songs for a lighter almost poppier edge. Understandable though.
  19. Going from how similar Sorry is from the Village leak, there probably isn't a version as such in between that (2000) and whenever the song was done vocally, pre 2006 obviously. It's just lacking the vocal but was pretty close to the final version instrumentally even back in 2000.
  20. Huge Tommy fan too. After Axl I'd say him and Pitman seemed to be the most vital members of nu gnr for the entirety of the era until 2014 (15 for Pitman if the rumors are true about him and Axl working on CD2). I like Tommy's style of interview, compare it to Bumble...
  21. I think if there is a Bucket snippet it'll be classic Bucket. A ridiculous bit of tapping. And I really can see it happening, I do think as I've said Robin's bit on Perhaps is a joke. A little nod to the fans from Axl to say "you wanted Finck, here you go!" After all, TB are well aware of what is discussed here.
