  1. In my mind I always view BOTD as EP and never think of the remixes. Love all the new songs.

My favorite is 'Morphine'. It's one of the better songs about drug addiction out there and musicially haunting. Very bleak at the end. "You just sit around. Just talking nothing. Just taking morphine."

'Is It Scary' was mentioned here many times. Rightfully so. These must be amongst his best lyrics for sure.

I feel 'Morphine' and 'Is It Scary' are some of MJ's more personal songs.

And MJ = King of Bridges!

'Blood on the Danceflor' is a killer track. Very underrated. Love the video. Burgundy red suite, burgundy red lipstick, french plait, sitting on a chair. Truly bold and unique.

Really like 'Ghosts'. And like 'Superfly Sister' too.

  2. I know I am months behind...

The first thing that crossed my mind was that he was unique. Someone who truly stands out and there was no one else like him.

He took risks with his performances, fashion choices and opinionated speaches (rants).

I like what @Aljasaid about him being many things at once and hard to pinpoint.

I feel the pinnacle of people's fascination with Axl is long gone, though. I am still a fan and highly aprreciate his past contributions as artist and looking forward if he chooses to share more. He seems more human nowadays, which I believe is a good thing for someones health and well being.

Yeah, it definitely feels incomplete vocally. When I first heard the demo I was convinced that Axl had yet to write the middle eight part. I like Slash's parts, but it does feel a little underwritten, although not as obviously so as Absurd.

I thought those middle parts are their new thing. Like the new typical Gn'R thing in the middle of each song. Like a common thread.

I like what Slash does though.

    Thanks.. I'll pass

Aren't you like a big Slash Fan? His guitar parts are very nice. Really.

I know you're against the way they produced this. But it is what it is. And it's beautiful. Very melodic and touching.

Eta: no matter when they were recorded the vocals are energetic and moving. I think the song works much better than I woud have expected.

From the records I listened to, Scarlet's Walk is probably my favourite.

Scarlet's Walk is a great record!

My favorites of the more recent ones are Night of Hunters (2011) and Unrepented Geraldines (2014).

American Doll Posse (2007) is by far my least favorite of her albums.

Sweet, hope you have a good time. I'm not familiar with her but ages ago someone posted Cornflake Girl and I really liked that, should probably listen to more.

    Thank you! :)

Giving her music a chance definitely pays off imho.

Most of her songs aren't too easy to access though. They're rather intense and need a lot of attention to fully ignite.

Good starting points could be Winter, Caught A Lite Sneeze or Spark.

With Tori there are very few causal fans. People who are in are usually all in.
