  1. 1. well done for proving my point and not even realising it. Thank you! Yes, tarantino said he's done! Correct! What did Axl say? hmmmm... that's fucked ya.... Yes overlook where I said the merch is a part of the bigger picture. Very convenient. 2. Have you heard what he's released? Maybe you haven't. If you had, you'd deduct that he couldn't give too much of a fuck, as literally every person that has heard each of the 4 have either said the mix is terrible OR the song is terrible OR both! I happen to like all 4 songs, but the mixes and way each was released was abysmal. If that's how you think your treat something you care about, I'd hate for you to care for me
  2. I really genuinely hope this isnt your outlook to real life too. Axl lets us down, and rolling over and accepting it as fans isn't a great approach to it. I know there is probably very little we can do, but that doesnt mean im going to accept it either. there's little I can do about unjust wars and rapes etc, but doesnt mean I'll just say i dont give a fuck. GnR and TB suck
  3. I think they literally did point A with the perhaps release though we did get it in the end... points B and C are where you're spelling it out. Dangling carrots for literally THIRTY YEARS. It is insulting. I'd much rather they said it's over creatively. Like Kiss and aerosmith have. I am under no illusions what the deal has been with them for the past 10 years and I respect and embrace it. And so do the band, they seem liberated!
  4. To be clear, I dont think either of us were saying that because we went to a gig we should be given a new album. I won't speak for anyone but myself here, I was saying that it all factors in. It's part of the investment in the band, the gigs, the merch, the fandom. Axl saying theres new music and it'll come, then disappearing and repeat etc. And I also would like to literally point out - we would pay for that new music and probably spend more money on brand GnR because of it. It's an unwritten rule which is observed by bands and their fans, bands write songs and release them and fans buy and listen to them. Thats as simple as it needs to be, any defence of Axl and GnRs record will fall short because for 16 long years Axl has fallen foul of that sacred agreement! Sorry i have to take it to the nth degree here, but it really is simple. I dont doubt you are too frustrated and disappointed too.
  5. Believe me, my expectations are low yet Axl found a way to limbo under them and still have fans inexplicably defending him
  6. You're taking it too literally. No I do not believe if I buy tickets to a particular show I am owed anything other than a great performance. Soul Monster would love to paint it that way to make his axlsucking less cringe. What I am 'Owed' 'Entitled to' etc however you want to frame it, is a return on my investment in the band. Why am I? Because I buy the merch, follow the socials, buy the gig tickets, listen to the songs etc... to some degree, but more so because of the promise and constant tease of more. Axl has told us there will be 2 to 3 albums from CD. We have had 1. He never came out and said there wouldnt be any more. In fact he doubled down in 2016 again and said he wants to carry on and get all those songs out. All the members tease more songs, an album etc. They never deliver. It's not 'entitlement' it's simply asking for what we were promised. Most of you live in some weird delusional reality where to excuse Axls horrendous release record and lies to us, you say 'Oh he lives on a different timeline to the rest of the world' or 'His clock runs differently' As Stone Cold would say... WHAT?? Axl lives in the same time as us, 365 days a year, 24 hours in a day! Hes been on time for gigs for 10 years straight now! When he was running out of cash, he found the time to quickly play for russian oligarchs and arab oil barons didnt he!? So please stop using this stupid excuse like he's from another dimension to the rest of humanity. The excuses people make on his behalf... record companies, timezones, slash, managers, bipolar, fucking lars ulrich He is letting down his fans. And that is what I do not find acceptable.
  7. No, he owes me songs because he is the 'artist' and i am the fan. That is literally the deal. Especially when he tells us he has all these songs and he wants to release them. You may like being a cuck to Axl and perhaps abuse and bdsm is your bag, that's cool, each to their own. But to others we expect something in return for our investment. Like pretty much every other band-fan interaction/transaction. The way Axl lived in the 80s and 90s it is not a stretch to assume a man of his lifestyle wouldn't make it to 60+. Obv I am glad he has, and to an even more miraculous extent, slash. No I do not think he is a slow songwriter. These songs weren't written slowly. Actually the amount they wrote, then recorded in that initial period was pretty rapid. It was the releasing that is slow or non existent. Stop finding excuses for him. RE writing new stuff. It is not so much speculation as using all evidence we have and historical fact, and coming to a calculated and reasonable assumption. I am not throwing out wild guesses here. We have quotes from most musicians he's worked with the man himself in 2016, and the evidence of what has been released. Sure there's a chance I am wrong, in the same way there is a chance that one of us will join GnR as a nu member. I'd like to know your definition of caring? 26 years of having and not releasing these songs does not indicate caring - blackstar says he purchased the rights to the masters. Again does not mean he gives a damn, most likely given his personality it's a control thing or a 'You can't have them, even though i don't want them, i'd rather I have them for nothing than you have them for something' classic axl. I can't prove a negative. Just like you cannot prove he does care. We can all use the evidence before us and come to an informed decision that dictates our opinion. All evidence I have seen tells me he doesnt care. He did once, but no longer. Axl is like a controlling jealous husband not letting his wife go, not because he still loves her, but because he wants no one else to have her. Time to let go Ax.
  8. I still find it strange people say Axl really cares about getting these songs out there. it's 2024 and of the 32 done in 2006, 18 have been released officially. considering nearly all of those songs came from the 98/99 sessions we're talking 26 years later. I mean, did he even expect to live this long? he's 62. and he still hasn't released them. That doesn't smack of someone that gives a damn about these songs. maybe he did between 98-2008. but he hasn't given a damn since. I think it's much more, those are the songs he's got and his vocals for the most part are still amazing on them and he cannot be arsed to go through the whole writing recording releasing process again, even with slash and duff. Plus he can't sing in his most famous register anymore. I don't blame a guy in his 50s and 60s for not giving a damn anymore, but it's the tease to the fans and the promise of so much more. The worst thing is idiots here will say 'Axl don't owe you a thing' - well actually he kind of does. If he says he has songs to release that GnR fans will like, and I buy tickets to his show and invest in his product and brand etc, then yes he does owe me. He owes me those songs. That's not entitled. that's literally the transaction between musician and fans. And if he doesn't want to do that anymore, that is fine, just tell us. The 16 years since CD has been cruel on fans. So to justify it, people make out he's tinkering away and trying to give us the absolute best product possible coz he doesnt want to let us down. Then releases the 4 worst mix and mastered songs in the bands entire catalogue! I actually like all 4 songs, but they are dreadfully produced and do not smack of anyone spending any quality or caring time on them.
  9. I don't think GnR and TB have the capability to do anything that is extremely calculated. GnR did play a show in US in 2022 and released nothing then. I think it's hard to say there's a pattern on 2 examples. Sample size is too small. It could just be totally random and happened to be when they were in US. We know perhaps was probably going to be released earlier. And we know Hardskool was soundchecked in 2019 or 2020, i forget which, then delayed due to pandemic. I think you're giving them too much credit for them to plan to give us something that is 'new and exciting'. They havent got a scooby doo what they are doing. (not a clue, for our US friends)
  10. Yeah these 4 singles sound like 4 different studios with 4 different producers and 4 different systems used with the idea being to sound as different as possible. There's zero correlation. In an album format you tend to mix as an album for continuity. CD i thought was fantastically mastered, and agree the bass should have been higher but apart from that those mixes sounded ace. It's crazy 15 years more advanced they could be so much worse. I think most of the new songs are good enough to be on an album which makes it harder to take
  11. If they released all 12 at once, there would 2/3 songs that every fan of GnR would like though. That's the point. Nobody expects 12 classics and an all time great album either from scratch or CD leftovers. The point is, releasing 1 song at a time and then nothing for a year or so means that single song gets scrutinised to hell, then moved on from quickly. If the single they choose to release is more experimental or weaker, then everyone piles in and says the band is shit. If Absurd and The General are on a 12 song album which is coherently mixed and ordered, with songs that are radio friendly (hardskool, atlas) and more epic and AAA songs (Monsters) then people will find the ones they do like and be more positive. When you buy an album, if you like 4/5 songs on it, you'd probably say it's a decent album. If you like 6+ it's a very good album. When you release one single, if you don't like it, thats it. You dont like. everything is negative. It's almost like axl can't bear to release these songs, then when he does, he's so scared to fail, he releases them in a way where they are doomed to fail so he can just accept it. It's bonkers and no one else with a marketing brain would do it this way. But this is Axl. and TB. they're from a different planet
  12. Good skill in the playing and the singing, however my only criticism would be that they play the songs exactly the same, just on an acoustic guitar. Songs like Nightrain would sound great written as a proper low slung bluesy acoustic. I don't like power chords particularly on an acoustic guitar, they could have rearanged them to be actual acoustic style songs, rather than just hard rock songs played on an acoustic guitar. I think if you just listen to the singer without watching the video or seeing his face, it makes it less cringy. maybe its a trick of the brain or the eye, but when i watch him it does seem cringy. then just hearing him he actually sounds pretty powerful
  13. If someone asked me to describe America to them, I'd just send them the video of this performance.
  14. Slash' Killing floor is already at 1m yt views in 3 days. The General is at 1.5m in 6 weeks. Amazing what a bit of promotion and interviews do.
  15. fake troll. dont give him another line on this forum. doesnt know if axls piano has been re recorded LOL but knows specifically it's going to replace witchita lineman in the set .. IF axls on it and IF he writes lyrics. IF i had tits i'd be a woman
  16. His country album was fantastic. The day he dies is the day rock music dies. sure axl n slash and probably keith richards might still be here, but Tyler epitomises it. He should be cryogenically frozen until they can bring him back to life.
  17. I thought this was going to be originals - didn't realise it was covers. That's disappointing, but like the first single.
  18. Wouldnt it be nice if someone in the band could just tell us. You know, like every other band. Didn't realise gangsta rap was full of dark orchestra
  19. Any news on a new GnR album is Fake News. it's been 16 years. 8 years with sluff. We know for 99.99% certain they have not written any new songs together and if we are lucky they will release 2 more songs from the leftovers. They've also only released any of the 4 new songs whilst touring, and they have no shows scheduled at all, and we know slash is busy this year. So let's all just pray for more leaks. Fuck you GnR fuck you TB, gimme those leaks
  20. The new Duff song Fallen, the music video is just using clips from the GnR Tour that only feature duff and susan. I guess at least someone is getting their moneys worth out of all of it
  21. Scott weiland was, but he was also just as messed up and difficult as axl. he was the 90s/00s jim morrison. There were some great collabs on the 'Slash' album too, not that they would have made great full time bands, but he's been arounf enough. There aren't many he hasn't worked with
  22. I think they've just reached their creative peak already. AL was great and World on fire was even better. The last 2 albums were both bland and meh with the odd good track. Like most bands. you get 2-3 classics and the rest become generic or rehashed or experimental. Only the beatles went godlike for multiple albums. led zep had a great 4/5 album streak too. But we're talking the elite here, SMKC are great but they aint elite all timers. Most people argue GnR were one great album and a second great album hidden in a double album at best.
  23. He definitely sounded much better on the european leg, so would recommend those shows. Still sounded good in US, but you could hear his voice start to crack a bit and he was moving around more, in europe he was still pretty motionless so voice was better.
