  1. https://planetradio.co.uk/planet-rock/news/rock-news/jon-bon-jovi-voice/?fbclid=IwAR0G7F-SljTE7_j0QOMLsPWGqerLfPiNtXOEN3lrv7IJ3z-Fod_yGHrO7HQ Do we think Axl would ever come out and say this. JBJ has admitted he couldn't sing anymore and also the reason for it, he's now had this drastic surgery to try to get back to his best and if it doesnt work, he won't fleece the fans with him not being able to sing. Should Axl try something similar ps. please no one jump in and say Axls voice is fine he sounds great blah blah, it's shot to pieces unless singing baritone. obv age plays a part but if he could get back to 2010 levels that would be incredible, so hopefully he does acknowledge the issue and then try to fix it, especially with GnR talking at least 12-18 months off. what better time? Jon Bon Jovi addresses vocal issues and vows not to tour unless he sounds 'great' "If I can't be great, I'm out"
  2. Atlas and Monsters official release. Seven and Quick song with proper vocal leak. We get that and there's nothing else better than any of those that we don't know about, then time to bury the CD era.
  3. Just stop digging, you are destroying yourself The fact you have compared her to them just shows the ignorance levels we have to deal with here. Next you'll be comparing the rolling stones and limp bizkit
  4. People here will have you believe she's been around 5 minutes and in a couple of years she'll be forgotten again. Like she hasn't been the top artist in the world for 15 years and is bigger every year on top of that. People will choose the stats that suit them or always say 'well back in my day blah blah' but pretty sure every single meaningful record in music is now taylor swifts and shes barely in her early 30s. but some 53 year old 80s rock fan doesn't watch any news, any contemporary music or any sport, and doesnt know who she is, therefore she can't be as big as madonna was. HA.
  5. It's cool, ignorance is bliss. It's weird that people volunteer such ignorance. 'I dont know them or like them therefore they can't be that big' LOL
  6. You mean like ACDCs.... anyone can say something similar about rocks fav bands. Her early country stuff isn't actually that bad, if you like country rock. her newer stuff is for kids and young women mainly of course, but it's not all made on a computer like dance music or on a laptop on some tiktok. The ignorance of people here... unbelievable. Maybe they have lived in a box since 2008
  7. Taylor swift is the biggest artist in the world, and has been around since 2008. That's 16 years into her career. not some fly by night. she has sold out wembley stadium for SIX NIGHTS this summer, with millions of people not getting tickets. This is perhaps the most ignorant thing ever said on this forum. She is bigger than GnR could have ever dreamed and will be bigger than GnR still in 10 years. I'm not even a fan of hers, but the absolute BS in this comment needs calling out. Now, you can say 'I dont rate her, i dont think she's good etc' but you cannot say something as ridiculous as above. I'm sure there were grandads like you in 1965 saying the same thing about the beatles, yet here we are 60 years later. She also writes every single one of her songs and can play guitar and piano. So no she's not plastic, you just dont like her music. and thats fine.
  8. Taylor swift just announced a new album due out in TWO months, that she's been making for the past 2 years, whilst touring the world and re recording her old albums. ARE YOU WATCHING AXL ROSE? It really isn't hard.
  9. I think hardschool, perhaps, monsters and atlas shrugged would have all been very radio friendly, compared to CD which really only had better as an obvious radio track. Going down would have definitely been successful. there was obviously 4/5 more songs that were going to go on the album and as we haven't heard them we can't speculate that it would have been a bad album. if they were equal quality to those 7 you have listed, then it probably would have been on par with CD. plus, if released as an album it would have been mixed like CD and consistent. the versions we have all sound like they are mixed by different people in different studios on different platforms. but realistically in 2010 they would have been mixed and mastered together and had a much more cohesive natural flowing album.
  10. The famous punk as fuck bassist and song writer for two pound tea. That ain't no secret !
  11. Had this response from the creative works guys - what easter eggs do you think they are referring to? Jimi Chialoufas Was the video initially supposed to be The General and Monsters combined? Hence the constant reference to monsters in the vid and original artwork? 34m Like Reply Author Creative Works London Jimi Chialoufas nope, nothing to do with each other, Monsters tend to appear in children's Nightmares , that's why there are some in there. There's absolutely no hidden references or anything to any other track. 25m Like Reply Active Jimi Chialoufas Creative Works Londonfair enough, thanks for getting back to me 17m Like Reply Author Creative Works London Jimi Chialoufas there's a few other Easter eggs in there , see if you can find them
  12. Creative works said it wasn't Axl's handwriting but it sure looks similar.
  13. Agree on all points. Soul Monster is such a better title. best song they've got in the locker and they've completely fucked it up. get it out now
  14. GnR night 2 London 2010 O2 Arena, the return of duff. Band on fire, Axl sounded best he's ever sounded. great setlist. MDMA and got with 3 different chicks in the crowd that night. Never happened before and never since. God bless that night
  15. GnR are Dad rock in 2024 pal. sorry to break it to ya. in 2010, it was still edgy and uncool to like GnR. Axl was coming on at midnight, shows were getting cancelled, the band was on fire and so was axl and they were still dangerous. Today, they come on early, play the same setlist, sound shit, look old and play it as safe as safe can be. Gnr were dangerous from 85-2011. not since.
  16. I think this is probably the biggest disappointment in gnr lore. I think CD delivered for the most part. 14 songs, at least 11 or 12 were really good. but for 13 years+ we waited the general. we heard the incredible orchestra, we heard the phone leak, we had the interviews with band members, we had evaders take, we had seb bach, there was no way this song couldnt be an absolute epic. and it turned out to be an experimental copy paste job at 4 minutes long. the journey is always better than the destination. thats a life lesson for us all
  17. Very rare 99.9% of this forum agrees on something. But everyone thinks this is absolute trash it seems. i think that's harsh. it's just very plain and offers nothing story wise and no effort at all from the band. Disappointing, but I'd be in the camp that this is better than nothing. but only just
  18. Less layers? Are we talking about this I love? I think the reason its so popular is because its the only song that doesnt have loads of layers. It's a single axl vocal, a piano, and a synth in the verse. (hidden orchestra should be louder if anything) then some dramatic drums and a guitar solo. it's the least layered of all gnr songs. maybe ever!
  19. Obviously they don't make them, but they usually star in them and decide the storyline!
  20. They made an effort by commissioning it, and then agreeing to pay for it - yes. That is certainly a positive. but theyve had zero input and not created a storyline or actually physically gone out of their way for the project. Most likely fernando said 'hey ax you wanna try AI vid for the general, it'll cost x thousand dollars' and axl said yes. after that they probably didnt get involved again. Which again, better than doing nothing, but bare minimum nonetheless.
  21. I don't think this is a choice, they just can't write a song that would please the fans, and then aren't professional enough to release it in a way to make it a success. The 'sticking to their principles and writing the songs we wanna write' attitude doesn't apply to GnR. no one in the band aside from Axl even wrote this song ffs
  22. I think they're just stylistic choices, not errors. a bit like the song itself and the muffled vocal. nothing to do with them not knowing how to edit, they have purposely made it sound that way. subjective whether you like it or not
  23. They don't. it's almost like axl said to them 'this song is about a kid with scary memories - don't visualise the lyrics though and don't bother with a story.' People sayings it's a pile of shit are being a bit harsh. Obviously a lot of care and effort went into it from the creative side (not GnRs) but they could have at least written a storyline that you could follow.
