  1. Monsters will 100% be released. 1) It's top 2 from the NITL songs, and 2) Slash and Duff didn't take time to record their parts for it not to get released. It'll be out next year at the end of summer/early fall. With it being a guarantee for being released, that means we're also getting at least one other song in 2024, since they're releasing them in pairs. Probably Atlas or SOG.
  2. Just listened to the official GNR video on Youtube with a VPN. Sounds exactly the same as the leak to me. Oh, and the leaked AI artwork is cooler.
  3. Axl sounds great on the chorus! No doubt the verses and pre-chorus will improve as well. Slash also seemed really into it. I like it more without all the vocal effects. Also, love that the orchestral parts seem more prominent.
  4. Who else is afraid to keep listening to these songs for fear of getting "used" to them or wearing out their newness. All I want to do is listen on repeat, but I don't want the feeling of hearing a new song to go away. Also, every time I listen it's the fastest 9 minutes ever.
  5. Love both songs, and together think it's a masterpiece. My take is that The General is about abuse from Axl's father/stepfather and Monsters is about some sort of abuse from his mom, or perhaps even both sets of parents (Dynamic duo keep your figure crashing). I also think that when he sings "Oh but it's over now" it's actually in relief, like "oh thank god this nightmare is finally over." Hence, this is why the chorus sounds almost uplifting and the lead guitar from slash is also upbeat or happy. Lastly, I think the entire outro solo is extremely bluesy and is Slash and not a mix of Slash and Fortus.
  6. I'd maybe buy into this theory, but then I think it goes out the door when you consider that he took the time to record vocals for Rock the Rock. I still think Axl wants to record new music, but I think the circumstances have to be right for him. Whatever that is...
  7. There is no chance Monsters is the same as Me & My Elvis/Soul Monster from the village leaks. That instrumental sounds nothing like Monsters, not even elements of it, not to mention, it's already structured as a complete song idea. The only thing it needs are the vocals. I'm willing to bet that if Soul Monster ever gets released, the instrumental will be almost identical to the village leaks...kind of like how 3 Dollar Pyramid was virtually unchanged from the final Better.
  8. Hopefully the hype doesn't overshadow the song. A few years ago, Atlas Shrugged was hyped up as one of the mythical "Big Guns," yet it ended up being kind of a dud. Let's hope The General doesn't follow suit.
  9. I found this reaction video very entertaining. Just reminded me how UNIQUE and 1 of 1 Axl was and why this band was so incredibly good. Axl was (and is still, I suppose) so damn special - immensely talented, incredible energy, effortless power, raw angst and emotion, unbelievable range, wonderful tone and pronunciation...I could go on all day. Dude was one hell of a performer.
  10. Thought the same thing about his vest. Wasn't the best look. Man, wish I could go back 24 hrs. That was fun, the rain made it so much more special.
