  1. This is exactly why I thought the vinyl was recalled, because this is everywhere on the leak too. F'n yikes.
  2. Were there any notable jams besides the one that was the same tempo as Oklahoma's outro, and the other that was the same tempo as The General? I kinda assumed those jams were all CD songs.
  3. I believe we should know about this time tomorrow if The General is releasing on streaming, assuming it'll be midnight in NZ.
  4. I know people who thought GNR broke up after Chinese Democracy came out, and the Slash/Duff reunion pulled Axl out of hiding. Obviously if you paid any attention to GNR, anyone could find out that wasn't true, but the second that album came out the world stopped caring.
  5. I hope we get a new album, I hope the CD remakes find an eventual release to live together on, and I hope the songs grouped together doesn't sound like a random hodgepodge of material. IMO with the right producer and mixing, all 3 of those things could happen on one record.
  6. Wait which one is it lol I think I've only seen it falsely titled online then.
  7. Which is the 6:30ish instrumental with piano breaks, Me & My Elvis?
  8. Chinese Democracy II. 12 songs, bring it full circle with a Slash/Duff redo of the title track. Listening to the demos sequenced, if they all had vocals, it wouldn’t be the worst album (+ assuming Seven exists because I needed a 7th song ) 1. Oklahoma 2. Hard Skool 3. Absurd 4. Perhaps 5. The General 6. Monsters 7. Seven 8. Atlas Shrugged 9. Oh My God 10. Leave Me Alone 11. Quicksong 12. Chinese Democracy (w/Slash, Duff, Brain, Melissa)
  9. I question if Atlas was even selected as a song for Slash and Duff to rework.
  10. I've been listening to that one a lot too. I'd love a version with Duff singing, or with Axl recording the vocals in his baritone voice and keeping the old harmonies. Or just give it back to Tommy so he can release it, I just need a final version somewhere.
  11. IRS would benefit from Slash and Duff's feel more than most of ChiDem imo. But it's also one of my least favorite "final" versions on the album versus the demos, so that's probably not a coincidence.
  12. I don't know if this was ever confirmed, I remember the credits for HS not being posted up like Absurd and Perhaps were.
  13. If HS had Brain drums and a mix like Perhaps there would be a fraction of complaints about it. I'm still crossing my fingers and toes for just that on an "album version" if that ever happens.
  14. These recording sessions for the new songs are so bizarre and fragmented that I want to know everything about them.
  15. I started really getting into GNR from Hard Skool/Absurd (we do exist!) so this thread has been super cool to read. I remember when CD came out the title track played a lot on my local classic rock station, and even stayed in the rotation for at least a year. I loved it so much, so I listened to the rest of the album and hated the rest of the songs besides Better. But I was also in middle school. I've come to really love this album 15 years later, but it did take understanding of Axl as a person and musician to fully be taken by it. I kind of think NuGNR is a little too niche of music to be fully appreciated by the general public, but it is done very well for those of us who love it.
  16. Hard Skool's drums are still a mystery to me. I don't actually think it's a drum machine which I did at one point (besides the intro which I know is) but I think the kick and snare are so compressed and sampled it doesn't really make a difference. But the missing kick drum at 0:16 sure makes me question if it's a real person. I'd love to know if Brain recorded this song, because I would assume they'd use his drums if he did. This is the only song of the 5 Frank(?) is on.
  17. Can anyone share the whole leak? I’m still a huge skeptic but will analyze these drum samples 2 death
  18. I'm 99% sure the 10 second clip is fake. The drums are a Logic Pro drum machine that doesn't sound anything like any other leak (using samples that came out after CD), unless Axl got into using those post-CD and it's from then.
  19. At least next tour I hope they bring acoustics back more. I'd love to see them bring the couch segment back.
