I agree. the demo for Chinese democracy was super cool and then they added way too much noodling at the end. Same with Hardskool- had a better demo. Perhaps is better than its demo and same with IRS (never really liked the demo but I love the finally version of that one- probably one of my favorite songs off the album)

The raspy song is groovy and impressive but I think the vocals on the album match the lyrics better. They’re both pretty different and both badass

I think Axl Rose himself could tell me it’s coming November and it still wouldn’t mean anything

I was pretty relieved hearing it the first time. Definitely not as bad as everyone made it out to be. It’s a simple sleazy solo over a simple sleazy song.

I can’t help but feel bad for him. Maybe I shouldn’t as i don’t really understand the nature of his membership in the band. It’s odd they had him record some songs on Chinese (which all his work sounds great, esp. ITW) yet not on the new stuff? I guess he’s just a touring member but ffs he’s been in the band for close to 20 years..

I find more benefits to owning vinyl as far as just having the physical artwork and liner notes goes. CDs are just playing the same file that’s uploaded to streaming services. I guess just preference

The only thing I miss is the beautiful weeping guitar melody that Robin had on the “what it is to be you.. I’ve been so upset” part. But I also like what slash did on that part too. So ready for the General- that still sounds very twilight zone to say out loud

This video is has some sweet footage. Very UYI styled concert shots like in some of those older videos

I agree. I think The General would be great because it allows them to continue framing 20 year old songs as new but for this one, nobody has really heard it. It would be new to even the hardcore fans.

I agree but he also contributed greatly to the nu gnr sound. I see him and Slash as the main two lead guitarist in gnr as far as sound goes I’ve always seen buckets playing as novelty. It’s like GNR featuring Bucket because his playing is so fucking insane that it’s sort of out of place for Guns but also really cool nonetheless

Agree. But I think, similar to gnr, no matter how good it is (it could be better than anything off AFD or UYI) nobody will give a shit what a band in their legacy years releases. Maybe thats why they chose to release the mostly written and done Chinese outtakes. It doesn’t matter what they put out, none of it will hit at this point anyway. Record a shitty solo? Wouldn’t even matter if it was good

At the end of the day it’s like we’ve been spoiled by the demos that we weren’t even supposed to hear. That being said, Perhaps is one of my favorite unreleased songs and I can’t wait to play the shit out of it Also I look forward to hearing the lower harmony voice during the chorus on proper speakers. I’ve always enjoyed songs like Locomotive and Chinese Democracy for that reason
