Guns N' Roses Streaming Numbers
Appetitefordiscussion replied to downzy's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I love that song and I consider it in the family of Axl’s masterpieces as far as writing goes BUT would’ve preferred a version with less layers. I’m surprised the most popular isn’t Street Of Dreams or Better -
Rank the GNR shows you’ve seen!
Appetitefordiscussion replied to JAxlMorrison's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I’ve seen them three times- 2014, 2016, and 2023. 2014- will never forget the opening riff to Chinese Democracy passing through my chest. Bumble was really fun to watch and Tommy did Sonic Reducer. This was a time surrounding lots of chatter of a new album. In hindsight, I’m really happy I got to experience Nu-Guns. Or Nu-Nu Guns more appropriately. 2016- was really cool seeing them play Coma and getting to see Slash and Duff for the first time. The new Better intro was so epic. 2023- this was my favorite time seeing them. So many treats in the setlist: Perhaps, Pretty Tied Up, Bad Obsession, Madagascar. Carry Underwood killed it and Axl was definitely in a great mood. Love reading about other fans cherished moments -
So What’s Next??
Appetitefordiscussion replied to PaoloLA's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I feel like the strategy has been releasing these singles while on tour but I would love if they’d just put the songs out (hopefully an album) during the break and then do a tour a year later. Seems unlikely. I feel convinced now that there’s a very small chance that the CD era tunes are apart of an album and more just stand alone singles considering how much they all sonically vary. Perhaps sounds like the only album quality track thus far -
Not a 7 but I have Loaded’s Wasted Heart EP. Killer record

Chinese Democracy Hidden Tracks
Appetitefordiscussion replied to JimiRose's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Check out scraped. There’s “hidden” lyrics in the last chorus. Pretty cool, spotify has the lyrics now and I never could figure out what he was saying on my own Don’t you try to stop us now, (I’d give anything to know) I just refuse (I would have never made it so far) don’t you try to stop us now, cause I just won’t let you (I’d give anything to know) Don’t you try to stop us now (how you live with yourself) pretty cool! -
Guns N'Roses Member quirks? 😀

Not making new music is one of them -
Overall, it DOES sound great as far as tones go. I could do w/o the distortion but at the same time, it fits the lyrics well. Most of us who listened to the leak would’ve thought the kick drum clips would still be there once actually released- especially since management/the band delayed due to the “quality”. In retrospect, its clear they were talking about the quality of the vinyl pressings rather than the mixes. Like Hardskool, I love what’s there conceptually, it’s just the minor audio nuances that take me out of it

I just don’t get why you’d spend 14million on studio time and top tier engineers just to not mix everything well in post production. I really like Caram and how Chinese sounds. I hate that the new GnR stuff sounds like their best attempt at a modern rock album (especially with these over compressed drums). Just give us how it was mixed in the 2000s lol.

S Tier: Better, Prostitute, There Was A Time A Tier: Chinese Democracy, Perhaps, Cather, IRS, If The World (Yes), Sorry, B Tier: Shacklers, Riad, Street Of Dreams, Scraped, Madagascar, The General? C Tier: Oh My God, This I Love, Hard Skool D Tier: Absurd... (could've been the "Its So Easy" of this era if it kept the chorus and original structure).
