Rumored Album Release Dates

Meaning ive chatted to a few friends and managers of various music stores and they all say that releases are finished with this week., meaning they are aware of all orders made available up to the end of december and most of january.

i had a really long chat with a manager at HMV and Sight n Sound, both said "they arnt Guns N Roses, its just Axl under the same name" ....which is true

they also said confidentally that "THATS IT for 2006" .....all releases are now covered for the christmas period in stock and orders, no hesitation what so ever, which i already knew but it was interesting hearing it from the horses mouth

for those still hoping for the "tuesdays left" release .....its been completely ruled out now.

That's funny, cause my best friend has a friend who's ex-girlfriend's sister used to be Jimmy Iovine's mistress, and they're still friends you know, and he told me that his friend told him that his ex girlfriend said her sister said that Jimmy told her in a phone conversation that the album IS coming out this year, and you know, this story is so fucking true.

Looks like it hasn't been ruled out.

what part of "ALL 2006 releases are covered" dont you get?

your a fool if you think its coming out before christmas, thats all im saying

its blind optomism and cluelessness that would make anyone consider it happening now

I don't believe its coming out,but what these people are saying, basically, is why the fuck would they believe you and your "sources" anymore than any one else????

First of all... this is BS. MoJunk just backing up his own guesses from the last few weeks. I was at Best Buy the other day and just curiously asked them about when they would know about a record release. They say most of the time they'll know weeks in advance. I asked them if there's ever any 'surprise' releases... they said sure... that records will just show up sometimes unannounced with all the bells and whistles (promo cut-outs and what not).

There you go.

So, whether you take my word for it or MoJunk... it doesn't really matter. We'll all see in the next couple of weeks.

name me one surprise album from an artist like GNR that most likely needs promotion to sell and it will if Universal are covering all bases, there will be promotion so that they make the 12 million doallars back, it will have promotion before its released.

name me one well known album of the past ten years to surprisingly show up to everyones surprise?

also name me one well known album that hasnt leaked before release in the past five years.

and i can assure you that chinese democracy will LEAK before its released, if you think otherwise then you have no idea about modern music promotion and that copies do get out eventually before the release

just the way it is

Axl said "It is this year." So I'll see what happens and then I guess they'll say something about it. But really only the interent has its finger on the pulse. Oh and now MTV. Do one delay just for MTV to get the picture. It's been delayed ok?

You sir, are living in the real world. The Axl ballswingers union respectfully disagrees with you. They will be on this board at 11:59 on December 31st 2006, saying, "there is still one minute left in 2006"

motown, shut the hell up, our "blind optimism" is only equally by your blind pessimism. This is no different from the Far Downs rumor, and we could still get a release...but then again my sister's boyfriend's, blah blah blah my inside source agrees with you. Quit acting like an insider, if we believed you, you'd only be a cool informant for 2 weeks or so. Shut up.

I was browsing the HMV website and have noticed two things:

1) Chinese Democracy is gone. No mention of it - the search yields zero results.

2) A new GNR t-shirt was apparantly released on the 22nd November. That seems VERY interesting as it is only one day after the supposed November 21st release date. Was the release date nothing more than a t-shirt after all this time?

Here's the link to the t-shirt - http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProduct...&sku=586979. There is not a picture of it as of yet. However, it is entitled 'Skull Flag' - could it be the Chinese flag? Keep in mind however that is the only t-shirt search result for GNR, meaning it's probably the standard Appetite For Destruction t-shirt. Nevertheless, the release date is intriguing, and seems to me yet another piece of evidence that the wheels were indeed in motion for a CD release this year.

EDIT: Upon searching again, I have noticed that the AFD t-shirt DOES SHOW UP on the first page of the search, meaning that the skull flag is a different t-shirt, or at the very least a re-design of it.

The skull one is probably the t-shirt of a skull wearing a top hat with Guns N Roses on it. Nothing to get excited about. They probably removed everything about the album cos they now know its not coming out.

I said about this before the t-shirts were released, no one listens to me :(:P

I don't remember you saying that

It was in one of the rumour threads about CD being released on the 21st, posted it about a month ago i guess. I will just log off and never come here again :P

I have just merged the latest "record store" rumor into this thread.

As everybody can see by the length of this thread - record stores are not reliable sources for release dates. So please - PLEASE - stop starting new threads everytime you visit a record store. Post all of your record store stories and experiences in this thread.

Thanks.
