pattonPwr
after 1year+ of CD being released and having listened to it more than 4 or 5 times each month I can now say that "This I Love" is probably the masterpiece of this god damn good album and that the wait has been worth it after all... I love the new lineup but you always imagine how Slash would have nailed the solo for this one...

I love the song too, but it's not for the mainstream.
realpoti
It's a good song. Far far away from Estranged, but it is good.
Duro
Great song. Not my favorite on the album, but it works really well live. Axl really pours himself into it.
Rose Cooper
Slash couldn't have nailed it with the tabs in front of him.
Spoon87
The best song Axl has ever written. A song only Axl could write. A beautiful masterpiece.
Bansidhe
Slash couldn't have nailed it with the tabs in front of him.I don't think it's the type of song you'd really want to tab. You'd put your own spin on it but keep that feeling in it.
Graeme
Slash couldn't have nailed it with the tabs in front of him.I don't think it's the type of song you'd really want to tab. You'd put your own spin on it but keep that feeling in it.Only bit I'd keep in for definite is that harmonic minor lick just as the drums come in, that is one sexy sounding piece of guitar playing. ITW 2012
Prostitute is probably the masterpiece song but they aren't playing it every night for some reason.
Nintari
It's definitely the rawest form of emotion on the album and probably Axl's most sincere piece of music since Estranged/November Rain back in the day. Having said that, it's not the complete song that those two were so I'd have to rank it below them. But it's the highlight of the album....atleast emotionally. Guest Satanisk_Slakt
With a decent guitar-solo, it would have been the best song on CD.
moreblack
One year later, I enjoy the title track more than TIL. SOD is the better ballad, or Catcher with the Brian May solo.
Cdlove
It's one of the top 3 songs, in my opinion, from the record. Better and TWAT still have the lead for me.
SunnyDRE
sorry...Axl voice isn't made for this type of music.I start laughing when I hear it....it's like bad karaoke or something....IDK.
saint_seiya
in my opinion This i love sounds the most outdated out of all the songs in the album. It sounds like it shouldve been in the illusion albums and it definately deserved a classic guitar solo. mrandyk
The chorus makes me want to skip the song and the solo isnt very good at all.
axl8302
Agreed, I could lap up a whole album of songs like this!I also love the solo, not a massive fan of Fink live, but I think his performance on the album is brilliant - particularly on this track. Same bluesy style. Slash is a good guitar player but that song is a bit too modern and I don't think his style would fit the boot.
Guest Apollo
I love it.It's the song I most enjoy singing in the shower.I think the slower tempo songs are what makes Chinese Democracy the masterpiece that it is.Prostitute, This I love, Street of Dreams, Catcher, TWAT and madagascar.I couldn't be happier with the album than I am. GunsNRevolvers2
Definitely one of my favorite songs on the album, I think it would be alot cooler if Axl played it on the keys live though...either way, it's definitely a sleeper that takes a number of listens to really catch on, like most of the album, which I love
