The Catcher in the Rye
I'm from México and Mi amor has all the "Latin feeling" but I think The ballad is better

TiedHands
Ballad of Death. I think it's a better show of his talent and emotive playing. I can very, very easily see parts of it being in a GNR song. It fits perfectly. Mi Amor is cool but the style is not my dig...

Bruno P.
Pink pantherQFTTo be honest I don't know. Neither of them appeal to me but they're OK. Edited November 4, 2011 by Bruno Poeys
viruzzz
I love both, I'd love if DJ release an album with songs like those. But I prefer the ballad.
YOUCOULDBEMINE.
Well to be honest I prefer both over the Godfather solo tbh. But Mi Amor is better than the Balled Of Death
Cosmo
I think Mi Amor is a MUCH better solo. Ballad was too depressive... but I love it how DJ plays original songs instead of famous theme songs. If I were Bumblefoot I'd play Guitars SUCK. It'd be awesome!!! F*ck Fear
I really like both pieces but seeing as last year I was front row for Ballad Of Death, I'd like very much to hear Mi Amor.
moreblack
BOD takes the prize. keyboardandicons summed it up nicely.
The Wicked Hand
Dont really like either one of them, but since I think mi amour is VERY bad, I 'll go with BOD.Mi Amour sounds like the theme to a mexican soap opera or something.
Cosmo
People are hilarious. When Ashba played Ballad Of Death, people said it was shit. Now that he plays Mi Amor, Ballad was great. Finck used to be sloppy, now he's "an artist, not just a good cover player", all the demos 'sound better', Josh Freese was the best thing that ever happened to GnR drumming since Steve, and people heard him on like - 2 or 3 demos.... AKA... People Complaining.

I've always liked Ballad... specially for a GN'R show... it's very ...hmm.. let's call it Slash-y (tone wise) and bluesy... Mi amor does sound like a Mexican Soap opera song gone wrong

I think he does write well. I love the Sixx AM and Beautiful Creatures albums, but something is just not right for him in GN'R (maybe if he had written some tunes... i don't know...)I will leave you guys with 2 videos of who should be one of the GN'R guitarists...Doug Aldrich Zakk Wylde And after this you'll realize why Ashba jut isn't good enough for GN'R like Robin was or one of these guys would be. They fit... Ashba fits by his looks (and maybe (yet to be seen) writing potential.
moreblack
Zakk and Doug are great players. I think Doug is more adaptable/versatile, he'd be a good fit pretty much anywhere.
