SLAA, his saying you're easily pleasable...

I must be easily pleased because I loved Axl on Kimmel!:wub:

Axl definitely hit a home run with this appearance. He did fantastic.

I wish he'd do more of them. Let the general public see that he isn't some crazy lunatic, and that he is a pretty normal guy.

I've been saying the exact same thing ever since I saw it. I loved the show, Axl did great.

People get so caught up in the axl-vs-slash crap that they get the impression that Axl is this crazy dictator who is always late and who treats people like garbage.

But when they see sessions like this, they see that he is a funny and pretty normal guy.............so then the public thinks "wow, he isn't so bad. maybe I will give this CD a listen and see how it sounds." Obviously not in 100% of the cases, but a LOT of that happens. Happened with a family member of mine, solely based on the Kimmel show. This is somebody who when I asked if they listened to CD their response was "No. It isn't GnR without Slash." But two nights ago they saw that Axl isn't a monster and their entire perspective/attitude changed.....just a little bit - but it went from being 100% negative to at least saying they'd listen to the album.

More shows like this, more interviews would do Axl, GnR and CD a world of good!!!

I really liked the Axl interview on JK.

I thought Axl was relaxed and funny.

I loved the Halloween tree story. I've seen some smaller trees with smaller Halloween ornaments on them, but I thought Axl's Halloween tree was very original. He should have pattened them and sold them. He would have made a killing. lol

Anyway, I liked that JK actually let Axl talk and not interrupt him too much. Cool that Bumblefoot was there playing with the band.

It was very cool to give away a few sets of tickets and also buy burgers for the whole audience. It was very thoughtful of Axl to do that. He didn't really have to do anything.

I thought Axl looked great and was glad his strep throat was doing better. I know having had it many times, I've lost my voice and also with strep throat when you swallow it burns a lot. Glad I don't get those anymore.

I thought Axl playing with Neil Young at his charity event was way cool. It's nice to know Axl is still a huge rock fan and is still getting to meet and play with his favorite musicians.

I only wished Axl would have said more about the Vegas shows. I loved how he said he was getting better with the time and all. I hope the Vegas shows go on as planned. I'm anxious to see GNR and would hate to have to sit through someone boring or for GNR to be too late. It's true the casinos want people in there gambling, so I would hope Axl would be on time and play a good show in a good amount of time. I'm not doing any gambling either way, so it's all good with me.

Seeing that old picture of Izzy and Axl in one of their first bands was amazing. I thought that was a nice memory for Axl. Talking about him walking in a video store was funny. Like JK said, so many wanabe rock stars worked in record or music stores, but Axl's dream actually came true. Not a lot of people can say that.

All in all, I enjoyed seeing Axl on tv and I thought he and Jimmy had a good time talking together.

It would be very cool if Axl did go on the Jimmy Fallon show as we know JF is a huge Axl and GNR fan. Maybe one day.

Agreed. Although I think the world might be better if CD is never heard of again. It was a pretty mediocre album and it tarnished a lot of the bands legacy, in my opinion.

Great interview! Something I'm really surpised no one has discussed is the question about which year Axl would do over. Did he reply the last 5 or 6 because:

A) He interpreted the question to be "which year to do over because it was bad" and said the last 5 or 6? He's mentioned that 2009 was

the worst year of his life and maybe he wishes it went differently.

or

B... He interpreted the question to be "which year to redo because it was so good"? Because immediately after, he mentioned that he

has more fun now (as in his latter years, post classic lineup).

I thought he was speaking like B was the answer, because of his reply after he answered. Maybe I'm the only one who got that out of it?

This. He's a really interesting dude with a knack for telling stories, if people saw this side of him more often he'd be liked a lot more.

Yeah, his reasoning for picking the 5/6 year time frame was unclear. I doubt we'll ever know how Axl interpreted the question, it could be either scenario, and plus his comment about having more fun now could still apply to the first one.

He's an interesting subject, it would be great to get a more thorough interview with him. I can't think of who would be up to the task though, Jian Ghomeshi?

It doesn't have an expiration date? Axl you magnificent bastard.

LOL, do people really think Axl bought everyone hamburgers out of the kindness of his heart? Fuck no, this is advertising ploy. Tommy's donated the gift certificates and paid for this advertising. It's just like the monster sponsorship on the tours.

And the concert tickets as well were donated by the venue.

Whatever. It was a nice gesture for the studio audience and the crew. Let it go.

Didn't he mumble something like "I'd have been having a lot more fun then" or something like that afterwards??? It's very obvious Axl had a few REALLY terrible years in in the years leading up to and following the CD release...

He was having an Oprah moment, but what advertising ploy? Why wouldn't Hard Rock have handed out gift certificates if they're in every major city in America? Tommy's isn't a big franchise, there's a handful in LA, one in San Diego, a couple of Vegas.

Do you really think Oprah buys cars for everyone in the audience? It's a fucking commercial for Christ sakes! What about The Price is Right, do you think the show buys all the prizes they give away? No, that whole show us one fucking isn't commercial. Same thing with the burger giveaway, same thing with the gnr ticket giveaway, and same reason Axl did the show in the first place. Axl didn't buy the audience hamburgers, LOL!!!

It was an alright interview and it was cool to see him...but his answer to the election question was quite stupid imo and that's not just because I disagree with him...he obviously wan't psyched to answer it and didn't seem that enthused to do it...but he did and let's be frank it probably turned off like half the fans....I mean it's one thing if you're totally dedicated but he acted like he didn't really care and was just giving the Hollywood approved answer half assed...point being if you don't really care why turn off like half of your remaining audience at this time of year for something you don't even care about....really F'ing STUPID imo.

Edit: Oh and to the people earlier who said because he's in rock in roll he has to be a democrat...Be whatever you want to be...but my main point is Rock N Roll is about individuality and doing whatever your heart desires...my view of liberals in actuality is centralized government from DC that is filled with political correctness...I don't know personally what it was like 40 years ago but sorry...being a democrat rocker is a stereotype and the status quo...the exact opposite of being a individual and being a contrarian, which is how a proper rock n roller should be and what I figured Axl would be....who knows maybe he just buckled under the Malibu/Hwood pressure on Kimmell and acted like he leaned towards Dems even though he won't vote...but it kinda disappointed me which I guess is my own fault...but if Axl was smart I don't think he would've answered the question as he obviously wasn't that passionate about it... just my opinion.

I haven't read all 74 pages but isn't it clear that Axl means he'd pick a year within the last 5 or 6 years (his exact quote : It would be somewhere within the last 5 or 6
