tr420
His London solo was awesome. I know there's Buckethead and Bumblefoot etc... but Richard Fortus is the best normal guitarist GnR ever had. Is it known what that jam is at the end of his solo? It would be cool parts to a new GnR song if it's not a cover im just unaware of.

Cosmo
It's Blacklight Jesus of Transylvania. His song. Awesome. Richard is an AMAZING fit for GnR and should be used a lot more. He's just the perfect style for GnR. He should be used for songwriting. I bet he'd come up with awesome riffs like that.
Coma16
Fortus rocks! I preferred 007 solo though.

Cosmo
Fortus rocks! I preferred 007 solo though.007 was awesome but Blacklight Jesus is original. And I've had enough of 007. Richard's solos are always the best among the three.
Axl_morris
Did you not realise how good he was before the london show? Richard is the bomb and the prefect fit for the band. Cool guy to meet if you ever get the chance.
tr420
I knew he was good. Great actually. I always loved his energy and it always seemed like his rhythm playing added so much to the band. I never liked james bond movies so I never really paid attention to the 007 solo. This solo just really blew me away. His guitar skills are fuckin crazy. So is there a recorded version of Blacklight Jesus?

moreblack
He's a good rock player, but he's a much better country picker from what it sounds like.

SMG
Fortus is the best fit for GN'R at this time. Just give him more material to play and let DJ play some rhythm behind a curtain.
estrangedtwat
I had never really noticed him or paid any attention to him whatsoever until I saw the band play in a small club last year. Being close to enough to actually SEE the guitarists makes a huge difference. He impressed me the most. I hate to use this word, but he was just adorable. He made cute little faces while he was playing and he was just smiling and happy the whole time. Looked like he really enjoyed himself up there. If I were a chick I'd be smitten. jimb0
Totally underrated. Him being in GNR for the last decade should have given us some of the most awesome new era material yet. And yet he's reduced to some solo parts and some rhythm parts.
magisme
Employee of the Month, Richard Fortus. For real, though. He's the man. Edited February 27, 2013 by magisme
Eu4ic
Richard Fortus has that kinda Steve Stevens appeal but he's not quite as technically gifted and doesn't have the catchy hooks, unfortunately.
tr420
Ok thats crazy to say he's not as technically gifted because he is. I also never saw the appeal in Steve Stevens.
James Bond
Fortus should be the lead guitarist in the band. Great look and awesome chops. He's damn talented and it's a shame he doesn't do more solos in the songs than he does.
Roush
Fortus is the best guitarist they have. Why are they always giving him the shaft?
