Well, not exactly the Stones news, but anyway...

Johnny Depp finally completes Keith Richards film
JOHNNY DEPP has finally finished filming a documentary about rock legend KEITH RICHARDS after four years of hard work.

The Hollywood actor is a longtime friend of the Rolling Stones legend, and even landed him a job playing his onscreen father in two Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Depp has spent the last four years working on a film about Richards' life, and he has now revealed the project is complete.

He tells Event magazine, "I've been working on it for about four years now and we've just completed the filming. Actually, it's a little strange to call it a documentary, it's more an opportunity to experience Keith - as people don't get to see him because he's quite a mysterious being. Essentially it's Keith and I sitting around having a conversation and what it boils down to is his wisdom and his philosophy and his experiences - and that would be cut with footage of his life.

"I got him for five days about three years ago, and then in February I was with him for another five days and we continued from where we left off...

"I feel blessed that this guy, who has never done anything like this before, has put his trust in me and allowed him to document his life. In some way - and I'm not comparing myself to him - I feel like Alan Lomax (music documentarian)... Doing this with Keith and recording how he thinks and how he looks back at 50 years of fame is pretty fascinating."

Depp was involved in the excellent Doors "When You're Strange" documentary as narrator so if this is half as good as that on was it will be a real treat for Stones fans .....can't wait for it to be released!

Just read this on the Beggars Banquet Yahoo forum....so fans in S. America may get to see the boys one more time...........

With a highly successful tour in Europe this summer,
the Rolling Stones will take time off until they
return to Australia late October this year.
Then there are rumours about may be a few more shows in 2015.

The Rolling Stones are currently looking into offers for shows in
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica and Peru,
according to La Republica in Peru.

Interesting:

http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=500715

The Rome recording on Dime was banned because, apparently, it was filmed for release. That's the first I've heard about that. As great as it would be to have a Stones show I was at get an official release, do we really need another release so soon and so similar to Sweet Summer Sun?

If its a 50 & Counting/14 on Fire box set then the answer is hell yes!

I vote for one US arena show, Rome, and then Glastonbury with a bonus disc of the Paris rehearsal show and the guest star appearances

Call it 50 On Fire or something:

Disc 1 - LA 2013 (the gig w/ 4 MT songs)

Disc 2 - Glastonbury 2013

Disc 3 - Rome 2014

Disc 4 - Guest Appearances 2012-2014

I like it.

I was wondering - has anybody bought Keith's new book, Gus & Me, yet? And if so, is it worth getting?

Yes, I know it's a children's book, but it's Keith fucking Richards' children's book.

Isn't that basically his daughter's book? I got the impression he just slapped his name on it to help her sell copies.

From what I've gathered he wrote it and she did the illustrations/artwork.

First of all FUCKING YES!

I've had those shows on bootleg for years, I can't tell you how many times I've watched L.A. '75.

It will be great to get official releases.

What I don't know about is..SD Blu-Ray.

How can sd look better on blu?

Would it not be similar to sd on dvd? :drevil:

The audio might be better on blu, but, hell..if it looks the same or damn near, I'd rather get the dvd/cd combo.

The audio will probably be the only difference between DVD and Blu Ray.
