Sixes
Casino's the better made film but Goodfellas is infinitely more quotable.A lot of Goodfellas was filmed in my immediate neighborhood so that gets bonus points from me
Orsys
I liked Casino better, though both were good.

Guest NGOG
I would say Goodfellas by quite a margin.
Gia
GoodfellasCasino had a great performance from Sharon Stone in my opinion and overall it was a good film, just felt like Goodfellas part 2 at times

Guest Len B'stard
Goodfellas is just flat out the better film. Cinematically it's superior, i think Goodfellas is about as close to perfect as you can get onscreen. There are very few movies on earth i rate 10 out of 10 and that is one of em, it is just astonishingly good, every last frame of it. Casino suffers from the comparison though because it is a brilliant film all on it's own...but it's not as good as Goodfellas, it's length for some reason is often cited, people call it meandering a bit, i never saw that personally but it's there. Goodfellas is sharper, punchier, more direct and what its saying is kinda loud and brazen, it almost has an attitude to it, there's really subtle things going on directorially to make it seem like a ride, some really great actual shots in like, like when they're getting into the Copa from round the back and he's kinda whisking her through greeting the staff, thats all one shot i think, all the way into the Copa in their seats, it's like a true story but at the same time is presented to you in a deeply cinematic way. The characters are stronger in Goodfellas too, despite it not being as long and not dedicating as much screen time to establishing the characters. Right up to that last scene, the one where he's whining about leaving the life and he's walking round the courtroom and telling you how good it was and how when he got to Witness Protection he ordered some spaghetti and marinera sauce and they gave him egg noodles and ketchup, through it ALL he's learnt nothing, after that profound journey of greed and lust and loyalty and betrayal...and he's just the same greedy cunt he was to begin with, it's brilliant...and then Sid Vicious doing my way to cap off the ending, the biggest ignorant cunt of them all singing My Way They really are both movies that endure though, i've sat and watched them SOOO many times. In my opinion Goodfellas is the better film though...by quite a bit. Edited March 21, 2014 by sugaraylen
DieselDaisy
Casino, although it is largely a remake of Goodfellas.

I liked the characters more than I did in Casino, I found them more endearing. Though Pesci basically played the same guy in both.
foghat43
Love this line at the end of Goodfellas..."Today everything is different; there's no action... have to wait around like everyone else. Can't even get decent food - right after I got here, I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce, and I got egg noodles and ketchup. I'm an average nobody... get to live the rest of my life like a schnook." - Henry Hill
Guest Len B'stard
I don't agree with Casino not being quotable either, it's got some cracking lines.
bacardimayne
"So I was watching Goodfellas with a friend and while he went to the bathroom, I switched the DVD out for Casino. He didn't notice anything was wrong, and after 30 minutes he asked where Ray Liotta went." Seriously though, both are great films but Goodfellas is a notch above. Estranged Reality
goodfellas, because for me it's pretty much an all-time top-ten classic and forever impacted the way i viewed cinema at a young age.casino is great, though. and it's gotten better with time. on release it was 'goodfellas 2' and didn't live up to the inherent hype that went along with it. years later i think it stands on its own and considering all the filth de niro has starred in since its release, it's easier to look back on it as one of his last truly fine performances and movies. downzy
Think it depends on what movie you see first. At least, that's the case for me. Saw Casino before I saw Goodfellas. Prefer Casino.

bacardimayne
Notice how the people saying Casino aren't justifying it in any way. They're just posting "Casino" and leaving it at that. They know they're wrong.
