GNR 100 million copies sold?

Recommended Posts

That's worldwide. Which is impossible to actually verify. Outside of North America, Europe, Japan, and Austrailia most sales numbers are just guesses. Leads to a lot of acts attempting to inflat numbers. The 100 million for GN'R seems about right though. 44 million in the US, verified. 56 million the rest of the world seems about right.

Yeah, like Appetite for instance. They say 30 worldwide but we know it sold 18 in the USA. Hard to believe it only sold 12 everywhere else given the band's legacy is so tied into that album. The South Americans worship GN'R because of the songs on that album. And so on. I would expect that album is closer to 40 based on the 18 number in the USA.

Yeah but in a lot of places worldwide a lot of albums are bootlegged, so outside-of-US sales being lower than US sales is often the case.
