Well there has been some passionate debates regarding the Confederate flag with some mention of the Nazi flag in the discussions.

So how does everyone feel about this guy who seems to have an obsession with Nazi Memorabilia. After readng the article he does not seem to be a neo Nazi type but just has a collecting obsession with this part of history

Should he create a museum to display this as it is part of history or should this part of history be buried forever?

Would you go to his museum if he opened one?

That part of history should absolutely be remembered. Not celebrated. But acknowledged. It was actually fascinating how Hitler came to power, not to mention Nazi scientists were responsible for some of the most significant scientific advances of the century. Free expression is free expression, it cant be silenced and forgotten because it offends someone.

I want their fuckin' jackets

its only fuckin memorabillia. And, come to that, even if he was an actual card carrying Nazi, so what, they do still exist yknow...and they have a right too, you cant just X people out of existence cuz they believe in something horrible. As long as they dont go reconnecting the pipework over at Sobibhor or whatever then hey, let em believe in Nazism, i dont think its really any of my business.

I dunno, do they think less of Waterstones for selling em? Of course they fuckin' wouldnt, its not like some under the counter porno yknow, you can pick it up in any major bookshop in the civilised world, i have a copy myself, its a load of long winded (and heavily annotated as you'd expect) load of bollocks but interesting nonetheless.

I think this guy is purely a historical buff and an obsessed collector. he has more tanks then some countries!

It is a part of history but I am sure it would create a shit storm of controversy but I think it would be fascinating if he opened a museum.

It would be good if he opened a museum, at least that will pay off the amount he spend on collecting so many things.

Denazification was an important process in a post-war world. now when nazism is just another horrible episode in a world history, people should have the right to fetishize it all they want. but im definitely not a fan. and im still waiting for proper decommunization to happen

There's this guy in the town I work on who has a collection of Nazi memorabilia. He has stood for the local coincil elections a few times too (and won for one term). His politics were unsurprisingly right of what's mainstream.

Hubby and I were at the British Library yesterday. I popped to the loo while he waited by a statue. He almost placed his cap on the statue, until he realised that it was a statue of Anne Frank.
